Actually the Fifth isnt under Teldrassil, its the guy in master's glave in darkshore, that one is dead/hibernating/sealed away. The giant shell with a sword in it, so the edge of the pentgram would be down some. And actually a right side up pentgram(the point on the top) is a symbol of good, its only when it's reveresed that it could be used for "evil".

I think I have seen a similar theory somewhere, a little while ago when I was doing research on the Old Gods for some unknown reason.
The one in the Tirisfal Glades I am willing to agree with. It's logical.
We know about the one dead in Darkshore.
This leaves us with only one unknown Old God, who could possibly be in the south-east. A dark presence there would explain Medivh's madness (the Old Gods are known to try to manipulate Titans, and it was Sargeras who brought Medivh to his condition). I still believe there is one around Grim Batol though...
As a mild support to the Grim Batol theory, I could say that right after the Sundering, Zin'Azshara was not too far away from the location of the cursed city. The proximity to the Old God's prison might have allowed it to contact the Highborne and transform them into naga - something that I believe would have been harder if the Old God was imprisoned farther away...

Or it might be in Zul'Gurub, that could explain how the trolls were able to summon the soulflayer there, but no where else in the world. Not that Hakkar is an old god, but he might be one of their avatars.

Hm, that's interesting actually. I remember something from "Night of the Dragon", where Krasus (sorry, this probably isn't much of a spoiler, but it might be to some) is assaulted by Naga, and we never really hear why that is, who sent them or anything...
Could be pawns of Deathwing - but why? Why would they be delaying him if it was indeed orders of that specific Old God. Curious case indeed.

Here's my question, if the Old God in Darkshore is dead, why are the cultists there still surrounding him? Not to mention they're all nuts. That thing isn't dead, that's why.

About the whole Grim Batol business: Neltharion
is
brooding in/below Grim Batol. That would leave a lot of explanation.
Or was. We don't actually know where he is at this current moment, only where he was at the end of the the timeline that "Night of the Dragon" stretched over.

Another possible location : Uldum southern Tanaris. C'Thun escaped from the bronze time
shift and is back and helthy with more Qiraji and stronger than ever :P

this guy rite here speaks the truth.
I'm putting my money in uldum as the other prision of the old gods in azeroth.
it's even conviniently close to the caverns of time, hence accesible via the portal at dalaran.
this however raises some questions.
if the titans were so carefull with yogg-saron's imprisonment (they build a HUGE complex, filled with futuristic technology, guarded by 4 lesser titans, and protected by the most advanced magic and tech ever) to guard yogg in ulduar, how come they didn't took the same precautions with c'tchun?
they did guard 1 of the gods with so many safety protocols, but leave another so unguarded tthat a bunch of insects made the prison their capital? makes little sence to me.

I thought Uldum was where creations were experimented and created by the Titans, and left to slumber if they were an anomaly. Therefore, it is probably full of anomalies, which could be very worrying.
Edit: In response to the AQ vs Ulduar thing, the Titans assumed C'Thun dead, as he crashed from the sky into AQ from a high distance, iirc. So, as far as the Titans were aware, he was not a threat any more, whereas Yogg-Sarron was kept alive and imprisoned.

Three were weakened while C'Thun fell into the barren lands of Silithus - but didn't die.
For countless ages, C'Thun slept and watched as races evolved, fought each other, saw invasion of the Legion and still, created plans for the future - its future. In the desert into which it fell, C'Thun found primitive life-forms known as the Silithid. The Old God created avatars from the Silithid in its own image. These avatars were to be known as the Qiraji, a sapient race that would come to occupy the western lands of Kalimdor. The great fortress city of Ahn'Qiraj was created to house their growing armies and prepare for the coming of C'Thun.
So yeh, I interpreted it as he was fighting a Titan in the Sky which (I think ended up in the Titan dying in Ungoro crater and C'thun hurling towards Silithus. Not certain on this, but I think I read it somewhere.

Woah, I missed so much here!

, Sinestra sent those naga. It was all part of the plan to weaken Krasus. It's mentioned towards the end of the book.

Ganit
, the Old God in Darkshore is not necessarily dead. Many theories claim that it is only the glaive that's keeping it "dead" - otherwise it would regenerate.
@
Antisect
, it is quite possible that Neltharion has been causing troubles lately, radiating evil and corruption. But Grim Batol has been a bad place for well over 300 years, and even though the curse of the Dark Irons might have affected the place, I seriously doubt it would cause corruption of scale enough to worry Krasus.
As to why Yogg-Saron was so well guarded... He isn't just an Old God, he is the Old God of Death. This could mean nothing, or it could mean that he is kind of a big deal, even amongst Old Gods. I remember reading somewhere that the Titans actually didn't have much choice on its imprisonment - they couldn't defeat him, and the best they could do is lock it up. It doesn't have to do with the fact that Yogg-Saron and the other Old Gods were parasiting on Azeroth - they just couldn't kill it, even if they wanted to. This could be indication for its strength.
Uldum... Unlike Uldaman, Uldum was not supposed to be a prison - it was a laboratory, as mentioned before. Titans would tinker around, create new stuff, and if dissatisfied, they would just leave that stuff in Uldum (because for some reason they are quite reluctant to destroy even their most failed experiments). I doubt there is an Old God there - leaving Titanic creations and possible artifacts of power in proximity of an Old God just doesn't sound wise.

I have never read any of the comics, manga nor books and my memories of the RTS games are fading but were the Old Gods ever mentioned in anything before WoW?

Not any of the games though, if that's what you are asking.

Their referenced in WC3 when you fight the Faceless ones and the Faceless creature during the rush to the Frozen throne.

That's strange, I never noticed that. Might be too much to ask, but could you point me more directly? :)
Anyway, this leads to the question: Why do the Black Dragonflight have "control" over Naga - beings of the Old Gods? It's curious, no matter how you look at it.
