Here is a mini guide to the foods of Legion!

There are various sources for the foods of the Broken Isles, including drops, quests, and from the new Nomi cooking station work orders.

There are 8 food recipes that are quest rewards (see the chart below for most of the sources):

A few recipes are drops - see the charts below for sources

Most of the other recipes are obtained from work orders in Nomi's kitchen. These work orders require various meat/fish to start, and can reward new recipes.
After learning any legion recipe (e.g. from drops/quests), Nomi appears and starts the following short quest chain to set up your kitchen:

All of the recipes require some vendor ingredients. The vendor ingredients are available from Misensi in the Filthy Animal (Horde Inn in Dalaran) and Bradford Duncan in A Hero's Welcome (Alliance Inn in Dalaran)

The vendor ingredients and base prices (they are sold in stacks of 5 - prices below are per item) are:

These vendors are associated with specific factions - The Sunreavers for Misensi and The Silver Covenant for Bradford Duncan. Reputation discounts apply accordingly.

Slice of Bacon is a special ingredient obtained only from World Quests. You need a certain skill level in cooking for these quests to appear.

Slice of Bacon is an ingredient for both feasts, as well as for Crispy Bacon.

In addition, each recipe has 3 ranks, which will either increase yields or decrease crafting costs for food

For individual buff foods, Rank 1 produces 5 pieces of food, Rank 2 produces 7 pieces, and Rank 3 produces 10 pieces.
For feasts, Rank 1 requires 5 of various dishes, Rank 2 requires 4 of each dish, and Rank 3 requires 3 of each dish.
Most (if not all) of the Rank 2 and 3 recipes are obtained from Nomi's Test Kitchen work orders.

NOTES:
*The damage of these fireballs scales with Versatility, and any Mastery that increases fire damage (e.g. Enhancement Shaman: Mastery: Enhanced Elements). It may potentially scales with any talents that increase fire damage as well.
**This food is the subject of the achievement Everything Tastes Better.

Currently this achievement requires not ~~800~~ but 815 skill points in cooking. That is maximum amount of cooking skill points you can get in Legion expansion.

so I'm stuck on 780 cooking and all of my recipes are gray. anyone knows what's going on?

I just got this achievement using the Azshari Salad rank 3. I had been using Lean Shank with Nomi to acquire the pattern. I got a stack of Runescale Koi and a stack of Lean Shank to make a ton of the Suramar Surf and Turf, then I used my blood of Sargares to buy all the mats from the vendor in Dalaran. It took a good bit to level, but I am able to sell the stacks of Azshari Salad in AH (currently 60g each). If you're having trouble keeping a strong supply of bloods, get the bloodhunter shoulder enchant to help boost that up. I'm sure there are tons of ways, but I thought I would post this since I had originally come her to look for an answer. Good luck!

If you want to reach 800 in cooking, don't forget to do classic world cooking dailies!
You can only do one of them per day but you are free to choose any city. Some of them give +2 to cooking.

New info, folks! The answer is Recipe: Spiced Wildfowl Omelet.
It turns yellow at 780, green at 790 and I reached 800 by crafting only this! And eggs are cheap these days.

Don't forget the Darkmoon Faire quest that gives +5 cooking.

I have 803 out of 815 points in cooking. The achievement is "Obtain 800 skill points in cooking". So I'm wondering 1) is 815 top unusual and 2) if I have 803 points why don't I have the achievement Legion Cook? Anyone else have this problem?
