For Horde characters Pristine Artifact Quests are put on display in the Vault of Kings. The southeast room at the Great Seal in Dazar'alor.

These are some of the things I said to myself when I saw this achievement. Just completed the Lengthy Legwork achievement and I'm STILL missing one of the 6 Zandalar Pristine Solves and have yet to set foot on Kul Tiras.

How I loathe RNG...

Anecdotal bad luck here, but it took me around ~70 common solves to get 5 of the zandalari pristines, and 235 total common solves before I got the 6th one.

The Horde digsite part of this achievement went much faster than any other Archaeology expansion pristine achievement. I got 5/6 pristines within the first 4 solves of each common artifact. The last one was Blowgun with 9 solves.

For those looking for a macro to show how many solves (for any of the curator achievements):

If you just want the Battle for Azeroth solves, change "x=1,255" to "x=1,2"; Legion solves is 3,5; Draenor solves is 6,8; Pandaria solves is 9,11.

Credit goes to Anaudri from Tanaris-US for the script, which improved the many scripts already circulating by future proofing for later expansions and fixing display errors that occured post 8.0.

If you are planning to do this achievement, go to Auction House and buy all the keystones NOW. I'm done with the Zuldazar part of the achievement and I spent 100+ Zandalari keystones and around 60 Kul Tiras ones and I still miss 2 pristines. Not many people are doing archaeology so supply of the keystones is low

BfA Archaeology is relatively simplified compared to Legion. Thankfully, because even though the quest system was inventive it didn't make the actual grind better, let aside the horror that is No Stone Unturned. For anyone reading this now, good job, you postponed Archaeology till after Pathfinder 2, as it'd be so much more annoying without flying. The rare trinkets weren't even useful in 8.0, so you didn't waste any potential.

The facts for BfA:

100 digsites for Lengthy Legwork, 12 Pristine and six rare solves equally divided over two races.
No spawns or shared finds as in Legion, each digsite has an average of 63 (9*) fragments.
Meaning that over the course of Lengthy Legwork we will farm 6300 fragments.
1070 fragments for the six rares, so that leaves 5230 fragments for Pristines.

Ever since they were introduced in Pandaria Pristines have a 10% spawn chance. Mileage obviously varies. One may spawn instantly whereas others take 20+ solves. Going by the average, for six Pristines per race you need 60 solves on average. Drust commons have a slightly lower solve average than Zandalari: 45.83 < 46.66. Per race:

60 * 45.83 = 2750 fragments for Drust.
60 * 46.66 = 2800 fragments for Zandalari.

This means that we need on average 5550 fragments. We're short by 5550-5230 = 320 fragments. Assuming this is roughly divided by the race discrepancy (0.49:0.51) we need two additional digsites each or in keystones:

As for 'strategy':

Do one race first and do the race of which the keystone is the cheapest.
Don't spend keystones early on: you can spend them in bulk as you get close to digsite achievements.
About ten digsites off Light Travel start spending keystones for the first race.
About ten digsites off Lengthy Legwork start spending keystones for the second race..
An exception; if you have one Pristine left and you can solve that without keystones do so: if you get it you didn't waste a keystone.
If you're unlucky to get the sixth Pristine before said achievements consider buying keystones to speed it up as much as possible.

As with all rng based content in WoW: keep thinking of the statistical normal distribution. The above is relative to the peak. If you're on the left end of the curve you finish Curator at 80 digsites without using a single keystone; congratulations. If you're one of the unlucky ones on the right hand side of the curve: you will eventually get it, how frustrating it may be. As for personal experience I was slightly off center on the right and kept my sanity: I finished Drust at 49 digsites with a few keystones used, and ended up finishing Zandalari at about 105 using pretty much any keystone I got.

zandalari was the easiest one, the sites are closer and the map is more accessible.

completed this after taking years of break from archaelogy today and figured it was relatively fast compared to Draenor especially and Legion.
Soul Coffer was my last after only 11 solves for that item. Best of Luck!
