Spell: Aura of Celerity

I wonder if this spell stacks with "normal" Bloodlust/Heroism. Anyone?

The Dark Rune Warbringer NPC that is spawned during the Iron Dwarf phase gives the Aura of Celerity aura. This NPC will have to be Mindcontrolled to buff the party with this aura at the time Thorim is killed.

Since Thorim doesn't come down till after the Iron Dwarf phase, the NPC can be offtanked untill needed for the achievement or be MC'd from the moment it spawns till the moment Thorim dies.

Although Aura of Celerity's tooltip reads "Increases nearby allies' melee, ranged, and casting speed by 20%", it currently only affects party members within range.

Mind Controlling a Dark Rune Warbringer while this aura is active shares it with your party. You can polymorph it and the aura will remain active. Remember to be within range, but remain spread from others out of Chain Lightning range. To obtain this achievement you need to be under the effect of the aura only when Thorim dies; whether or not you take advantage of it during the last phase of the encounter is optional.

Everyone in the raid will get this achievement now if you have the add mind controlled at the end.

Took me a second to figure out that the achievement title was a joke :P

Just tried this last night and though the rest of the raid got the achievement, I was quite the derp being so far away across the arena - which resulted in me not getting it.

For any non-priest who wants to solo this, if you're an engineer you can use the mind control tinker to gain the npc as a pet (lasting 30 seconds).

Just soloed this achievement as a level 90 rogue (Primalpunk on Twisting Nether) based on kpk02's post about how to solo Thorim.

I specced shuriken toss and burst of speed and I have engineering profession.

Here is what I did:

1. Tinker Mind Amplification Dish on my belt and made some Explosive Decoys with engineering.

2. Stand in range of the lever that opens the gauntlet and kill the mobs that are fighting the Jormungar in the arena with shuriken toss.

3. As soon as last mob dies I click the lever to open the gauntlet and sprint towards the big add. Throw one shuriken at him to aggro him (better to dont have any lethal poison on weapon for this part so you dont accidentally kill him) and then spam Burst of Speed back out to the arena before the electric "wipeball" from Thorim catches up with me.

4. when I get out to the arena I put an explosive decoy between where the dark iron dwarf (the healer) and the Jormungar were positioned in the beginning. When the decoy is in place I burst of speed back into the tunnel and just stand there with the big add hitting me untill the gate closes and the mobs respawn on the arena floor. When they spawn the dark iron dwarf will go hit the decoy and it will explode and aggro all the mobs who will then come running after me through the gate and into the gauntlet.

5. when the mobs are in the gauntlet I mark one of them that I wanna keep alive and then kill the others. Now I only have the big add + the marked mob hitting me so I go to the first door and kill the big add when I arrive there. This opens the door so I keep going up the stairs killing everything in my path but still keeping the marked mob following me. When I have killed the 2nd big add the door to Thorim will open so I take the marked mob half way to Thorim and stop there and re-apply lethal poison on my weapon.

6. Now I kill the add to trigger phase 2 and still stay in the middle of the hallway while Thorim is talking but the second Sif spawns and starts talking I sprint towards them and Fan of Knives to aggro Thorim while I jump past him and down to the arena again. If this is not done at the right time then he will cast his "wipeball" and kill me.

7. As soon as I land on the arena floor there will be a Dark Rune Warbringer there. I just start by blinding him and DPS Thorim down to around 50-60% HP. Then I use the mind amplification dish on the blind mob and cast his "aura of celerity" if it's not already active. Then go back on Thorim and just pop all CDs and burst him down.

8. If Sif jumps down to the arena before Thorim dies she can cast some charm on me which will make me friendly and reset the encounter so I have the PvP trinket equipped just in case.

So that's about it... Hope this helps if someone wanna try solo this achiev.

Thorim is now soloable so the Mind Amplification Dish is now the only one requirement.

1) pull the boss by killing jormunguar and other mobs in the arena, open the gate and wait for the Dark Rune Warbringer to spawn

2) When the Dark Rune Warbringer is spawned take him to the tunnel and kill other mobs who came with him (commoners, evokers, etc.) and continue through the tunnel with Warbringer following you killing everything else.

3) After you reach Thorim you can wait untill Sif is gone to make it easier.

4) At this point there will be ton of adds in the arena so jump down and AOE them down.

5) Now get Thorim to 20% HP +- and wait for the Warbringer to come back to you back through the tunnel.

6) Use Mind Amplification Dish on Warbringer. If it is successfull it will make Warbringer your pet and he should cast Aura of Celerity on you (blue buff) immediately. As soon as the buff is active burn Thorim down quickly since the Dish has not very long duration (I don't know if it's possible with any pet active)

Everything went well to the point of warbringer running back through the tunnel (Thorim at 10%) HP. And then MC simply failed on warbringer. I kept clicking and it simply didn't work. I waited like a minute spamming one key. No impact. Add stayed hostile.

As a level 100 priest with ilvl 702, I could not solo this. My Dominate Mind spell AND my healing spell kept getting interrupted by the dozens of other mobs pounding on me. I even tried for several minutes to cycle through them and kill all the mobs except for the boss and the Warbringer. By that time, the boss was nearly dead from my shield spell so I tried one last time to MC a Warbringer. Nope, shadow locked yet again and boss dead. Strange how no one has mentioned the non stop spell locking.

Outlaw rogues can now use to mind control a Dark Rune Warbringer for 5 min. I went through the gauntlet, got to Thorim, jumped back down, bribed the Warbringer, and AoE'd the boss/trash to finish the fight and get the achievement.

How I solo'd this as a lvl 110 Shadow priest.

- Unequip all items bar a few - including anything that procs and your artifact weapon (I did it with around 12000 intellect)

- Clear the room to start the event and head into the tunnel.

- Clear the tunnel and jump back down into the arena.

- Hit Thorim once with mindflay so he doesn't reset.

- Single target all ads down EXCEPT one Warbringer

- Shadow Word Pain Thorim, then quickly Mind control the Warbringer.

- Thorim should die from the dot in a few seconds and your character will have the aura when he dies.

Beware, only counts for the group containing the player that casts Mind Control on the target. That is, max 5 allies will get the cheevo at the same time, per group with the player controlling the target.
