i love feral, been feral since vanilla wow, and i feel that it is the most resilient/quick way to lvl a druid
that being said i just did 25m lfr and was in top 5 if not second to top damage as feral on the bosses with 58k dps
its hard to learn to play well but it is FUN and rewarding imo.

10N, 10H, LFR & 25N feral are currently parsing "mid-pack" @ 25H feral are doing well & currently parsing 5th.
You can easily look this stuff up
here
.
Honestly, once you get swipe bear is more efficient in my opinion.

Bear and resto are the fastest levelling specs simply because you have almost no downtime via dungeon finder.
I have to disagree with you there. Ferals' fights last less than ten seconds, there's no downtime, they can reliably take on four mobs of their level (still without downtime) and they travel faster than anyone else from mob to mob. Feral questing is
incredibly
fast.

I have to agree. Feral & Guardian never have to drink & will still have all the mana we need should we need to pop out of cat/bear form to throw out an HT on our way to the next pull.
I will still stand by my arguement that once you have swipe, bear is faster. Not only b/c dungeon queues are faster (and you have a bigger personal impact on the speed of the dungeon run), but also b/c the only limit to the number of mobs you can take on at once while questing is the limit of how many you can reach with FFF/Growl/Moonfire without the mobs leashing & resetting.
Also bear self-healing while lvling is way overscaled. While lvling, NS+HT feels more like LoH than an HT b/c the Agi = SP conversion is just plain ridiculous (assuming BoAs, of course); and as flush with crit as you are, a bad healer is much more of an issue for the DPS than for you.

It is extremely easy/fast leveling as feral as soon as you learn wild charge and predatory swiftness. But it still is easier to level as guardian cause your damage done is sooooo high and your dmg taken is soooo low.

Not to be a #$%^ or something but 58k dps is not rewarding at all. It is in fact incredibly low for an ilvl of 474. Nobody with an ilvl that high should be proud of being in the top 5 dps in lfr.
With my ilvl 485 I do 78k dps on a training dummy over the period of 3x berserk.
Ferals are in a really good spot when played good (One of the strongest single tar dps). I do agree that for a 10 man a balance druid is better for 99% of all cases even though feral has a lot of use. Besides just being incredibly fun and rewarding to play it has really great single target dps and amazing AoE (the best?). Substained with cat and bear trash and swipes or burst with berserk swipespam and ehrmagerd Hurricane.

now that depends entirely on what the dmg meter is? how far in the top 5? how far behind? when i said top 5 that was me at #4 and 1.5% of overall dmg behind the top dmg, being a monk who way outgeared me.
i said feral is fun and rewarding, not 58k. changing what i said to insult me just makes you seem a 'leetist ___.

I did not "change" what you said and I certainly did not want to insult you. I just wanted to correct your numbers so you dont feed op some incredibly low numbers.
So sorry for that.

its
(referring to original comment about feral spec)
hard to learn to play well but it is FUN and rewarding imo.
Again, never did i say that the 58kdps is fun and rewarding, but again, looking at the average info from link someone posted 58k is not low, it
depends
on the boss fight. Also, referring to your "leet" target dummy dps wearing 485 ilvl 2 piece tier way better decked out than my druid i'm not impressed sir, that you could sit and not have to run out of anything etc and pull a great rotation.
and 58k is not incredibly low, the 20k and 30k i've seen are incredibly low. i have no tier gear yet, just epics i've made gotten some drops or gotten from rep.
anyways, good day sir.

To answer the threads fairly simple question. Level as Feral to 30, get a guardian OS, gear share the 2 to 90. Feral for questing and guardian for quick queues If u find kill quests have lots of tightly group mobs then switch to guardian/feral as suited, Cats kill insanely quick.
Up until level 80 I felt like guardian was 90% of the time the best choice for anything really:)
And Ignis. Let's just stop our pointless discussion. Whether you phrased it wrong or I read it wrong doesnt matter. All I ment was that 58k is pretty low considering any ilvl of 363 or above (with 363 or higher weapon), if you are focusing on dps and have not been assigned a special task which lowers output. I am sorry if I made you angry in some way, it was not intended.
By the way tierset dps increce is soooo incredibly low dont worry about it.
(PS: one thing. Dont use raidbots on garajal as a measurement. Parsing is all kinds of messed up there. I did 99.5k dps on garajal normal yesterday with my ilvl of 386. I dont think 10 ilvls gonna make such a big difference is all i ment.)

Generally you'll do better quest-grinding as a kitty, qeueing for dungeons as a bear tank.
When you can, get dual spec and use the same gear for each, switching specs accordingly.
