Retrofit gear to match old raids

I was looking for some videos of 25 man raids during Burning Crusade. But all I found was people 2 manning, 4 manning it and I thought it was all very pointless. So I thought that if you had the option to tone your gear down to level 70 and take a 10 / 25 man team into the raids, then it'd be an actual challenge. You get to do your hardcore raids at 90 and you also get difficult level 70, 80, 85 raids. You could call it retro raiding and it'll be real raiding instead of people in 90 epics bashing level 70 bosses.
And again, this toning down would be optional so you could bash them in 90 epics if you wanted to. The advantage is not having a character locked at 70 to raid and since it's your current gear that gets toned down, you don't need more gear. It would be for the challenge and as a bonus, xmog items. You get a lot of old content, but you see it in the same way as back then. I think it's a good idea.

I always thought this would be a good idea. Maybe with the CMs gear-scaling, they could figure something to implement old raids. It would make them worth doing again, just for the experience.

So...Challenge mode for old world raids? Why not; already doing it for Pandaria dungeons, and there has been rumblings that the devs want to extend it even more.

Love the idea just love it!
But if I am 90lvl and I want to retro raid like BWL would it turn me to 60lvl or would it turn mobs to 90 lvl? But MC is still 40man eh? If I am right 25man raids came in WotLK.
What the OP is saying is that, just like how Challenge Modes currently tune your character to 463 Heroic Gear, their idea would do the same, making your gear level equal to the gear in the instance at that time; and you would have a choice if you want the Tuning turned on or not before you went in if you still just want to solo an a raid instance.
