I am pretty tired of leveling toons* thru the MoP zones and I am thinking of doing two of my last three (Frost Mage and SPriest) through LFD. Is this a reasonable way to go these days ?
*5 so far. I am not counting the one I did mostly by raising my Archaeology to 600. Yes I am a functioning altoholic and no, I am not in a program.

If you can find a tank and healer to que with you, go ahead. Other wise your que times are going to be about 25 minutes.
Or quest and que at the same time.

I did it on my Spriest from level 10 to 90.
Just didn't feel like roaming the same questing zones again and wanted to try something different.
MoP wasn't a problem. The ques are pretty quick and if you have a guild to do it with, even better.

Doesn't this cause problems with phasing and rep? Dailies that aren't unlocked if you haven't done a certain quest for example (like the Vale ones).
I've thought about leveling my Shammy by healing my way through dungeons, but this kinda holds me back.
There are a few quest chains that are like that, like the Vale ones, but the actual required quests are relatively few. Phasing can be a problem no matter which phase you're in, depending on what you need.
IMHO, LFD leveling is totally viable.

Personally, I found dungeon exp really started to stagnate around 87 in MoP. Only two dungeons, both of which are pretty bad for exp vs time.
I stopped even queueing while questing, since the exp per hour was better questing.

I did this with my shaman, I did encounter a number of problems; even with both healer and dps selected my que times were pretty long, I filled them mostly through pvping which feels much more even to my nooby self than at max level. I also found, when I hit 90 that my gear was very poor, I had to go back and do some questing in Dread Wastes to catch up enough just to be able to run scenarios which I then ran a lot before being able to run heroics.

The experience from dungeons is really low, its pretty much 1 bar per instance. Quests are the fastest way of lvling (86>90)
