Yeah BC did....and back in the day, no one would run Shattered Halls, the Arcatraz, Black Morass, the Crypts, Shadow Labs, or Mana Tombs.
Sure Wrath did...but Halls of Stone sucked, Oculus sucked, Old Kingdom reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaallllllllly sucked, and the other 13 were boring as hell.
Everyone gets bored of the dungeons at some point.
Edit: Also, there were only 12 Wrath Heroics at launch.

Dailies and LFR can still get boring but at least there are alternatives to mindless dungeon grinding for points/gear.

I have to agree with you. They are boring really boring. I liked WotLK endtime dungs the most. They were exceting but now? No. Thease new ones are too easy. I miss Dungeons real HC Dungeons...
Yeah? Then start doing Challenge Modes. Also, none of the Wrath dungeons were 'real' Heroic Dungeons except for Halls of Reflection and Oculus, everything else was face rolls.
Now in BC, then you had real Heroics, as the Group destroyers Shattered Halls and Black Morass proved time and time again.
But all dungeons get boring, part of the game.
If you want to challenge yourself, get a set of 450-463 Blue gear and use that for when you run the dungeons; will definitely liven things up.

Yeah, it says the same thing you can say about any expansion's heroics: I knew people who did that in BC, who did it in Wrath and who did it in Cata.
That should tell you something: Yes, there were hard Heroics in the past, but there is a difference between hard and interesting. Shattered Halls and Black Morass destroyed groups because of the sheer amount of mobs in the instance who all had screwy aggro tables. Oculus destroyed groups because of the vehicle mechanics. Halls of Reflection destroyed groups because it wasn't a face roll.
But then again, Blizzard tried in Cata to bring back CC...and people whined, screamed, %^&*!ed and complained till the company had enough and turned them back into face roll content again.

Exactly, because now a days the player base wants face rolls; Blizzard tried to put the challenge back in and people complained, so in a feat of near genius, they actually came out with the Challenge modes. So, if people want to just face roll through Heroics, they are happy to. If people want a challenge, then it's into the Challenge modes where you have to CC, where you have to watch what you do, and where you do have to know how to play your class. And the best thing is, Challenge modes are not in the Looking for Dungeon queue, so if you go into one, it would be with people you know semi-well.
However, even back in the days of BC, people still left...and unlike when the LFD tool came out, if you left in a BC heroic, you had next to no chance of finishing it off that day and would have to wait for the reset before you went back in, since very few players wanted to go into an already started instance.

People are people.
If Im right I did 2 HC dungs back in TBC and they were Escape from Durnhold or what is it and Mana Tombs if I remember right. They were HCs. Oh I remember thous thousends wipes on thrash and no one ever left after wipes. Now? Everyone leaves after first wipe.
It's also a hell of a lot easier to find a group. In BC you'd have to go back to Shatt and find more people, who would be from your own server. Now you can queue for a dungeon and go about your business wherever you like, and you'll automatically be put in a group with other people. There's much less of a penalty for not finishing a dungeon with a particular group and I can't say that's a bad thing considering some of the groups I've wound up bailing on in the past.

OP - You didn't explain the 'lack of variety'.
I think there is lots of variety in the MoP dungeons. They all feel different to me.
Now, you may not like some, but I would wager that's not because of lack of variety. It's probably just bored of the mechanics or something.
Cheers.

Every expansion has been like this at this point in the expansion. It doesn´t matter if there are 10 or 15..maybe even if they had 20.. the fact that you do them so much makes them boring.
The good thing about MoP is that you don´t have to do them nearly as much. I cap Valor on 2 characters and really only do heroics if there is a satchel involved (healer and tank). I actually think this is the best expansion as far as heroics simply for that reason.
But the funny side of that is that I geared up so fast without having to do them, that even as a tank, I can go in and faceroll them without ever learning the mechanisms. I remember in WOTLK, very early on you did have to learn the mechanisms. For instance, in the scholomance, It took me about 5 runs (without dying) to realize that I was supposed to click on the pile of bones. As a tank, i was just taking the hit and then using my self-heals without ever having to learn that particular mechanisms (because I had gotten my VP from doing dailies).
I personally prefer MoP and Wotlk style heroics over Cata heroics.. as a tank, there is nothing the dps can do to cause a wipe. They aren´t expected to do anythign except possibly make it go faster. I hated Cata because so many boss fights required the dps to do something other than just dps....and that is what caused most of the problems.

In WotLK I played a LOT...I broke 2k in 2s with my feral druid running feral/sub, and I had a pally tank and hunter in full ICC gear. I had 2 ferals at 80, 2 hunters at 80 (one of each weren't geared at all, just alts I leveled for fun), a pally tank, dk tank (also no gear), and a 245-geared enhancement shaman. Wrath was when I really came into my own in the game. And, no offense, Wrath was the Face-Roll expansion. The only difference between now and then is that you don't seem to have multiple alts up there. Yes it was really easy to gear up...since you know, every major Patch a new group of five mans came out, with gear that was the equal of the previous Tier making the raids obsolete.
When ICC came out, I got burned out on the ICC 5-mans in less then a week. When I tried to run the lower tier stuff for fun, the queues were massive. It was about that time that I went into more alting and working on my achievements compared to trying to get 'uber' gear. I admit, I never cleared ICC when it was current content...because honestly, I didn't want to. Would it have been nice to clear it when it was relevant? Sure. Does that mean I thought my 'shinies' were any less useful because they came from the 5 mans? Nope.
Also, during the release of the 5-man's for ICC: Hall of Reflection came up after waiting in queue for a half hour....and the tank and healer bail immediately, so back in queue for another 15 mins....and it happened again, and again, and again. Same thing in Cata; trying to run the troll heroics, people bail instantly.
I don't really see that in MoP which makes me glad; I enjoy the odd face roll here and there, and it's nice to not have to wait endless amount of time for new group members.

Say what? The only one I never saw anyone really do was Crypts and maybe Arcatraz.

OK was actually one of my favorite ones along with HoL. HoS does suck though and so does Oculus. I remember how badly people hated Oculus and how Blizzard refused to drop it from the LFD queue, but kept trying to bribe people in it with extra rewards. I still dropped group every time :)

It was really bad the first week of cata. Trying to do several of the heroics was a giant PitA. Especially SFK and Deadmines. I even hated Deadmines when T13 came out and I was really geared. It was just so long and annoying.

I hated Old Kingdom...so many wipes on the Insanity. However, I always wanted to do Oculus, but I'm a mount collector, so that was my driving force for that place.

Or if you got Grim Batol; especially if people failed on the dragon riding part. Though that one that I always hated, not for the instance, but how the people reacted, was for HoO: 7 bosses, pretty much all of them easy...and no one ever wanted to do a full clear to maximize the JP gain /sigh

I found the normals more lacking, actually; there's only 4 dungeons in Pandaria before heroics, where Cata had 7, LK 12, BC 14. Being level 89 and only having Shado-Pan & Mogu, neither of which dropped anything for my Rogue, sucked.
Heroics... I did a fair few when I hit 90 and got the gear, got bored, had a good look at the rewards and realized I didn't have to do them. So I'm not going to do them unless I feel like it, maybe for achis.
While checking the numbers of dungeons I found
this gem
on Arcatraz. The TIME in dungeons has vastly dropped. Nowadays it's like 15 minutes each, which means ~ 2h 15m total, or what one long dungeon used to be.

Thats how it was for Cata, and I would guess for Wrath and maybe BC as well. When you were 84-85 you would get Grim Batol and one other until you got geared. At 83 you were stuck with one dungeon until you reached later levels.
