Seriously. WHY?
There's no godamn reason to do it and we all know winning gets more honor.
Your not doing crap just going for kills. you win by doing the objective.

Most of the time, I go for objectives, but there are a couple reasons why I don't sometimes.
1. Sometimes I just want to have fun. I know it doesn't always help but I just want to get on to kill people because of a stressful day at work or something, but these days don't come up often.
2. My help can be more used to slow down the main players on the other team, so they can't do anything. I will slow or cc tanks in WSG and TP or healers so they can't do anything but help themselves.
3. When my team has a guaranteed victory and can just have fun pinning people down as we win.
I do go offensive or defend when needed, but not all the time.

Though it is interesting in WSG to see some people run through a giant mid-fight with a flag and come out without a scratch.
To be fair, strong mid presence in WSG is a great tactic. If the team knows enough to intercept the EFC at first sight, then you're better off keeping all your offense in mid. Not only does it mean having a head start on the EFC as he's trying to cross mid, but you've got the upper hand in keeping the battle concentrated to mid, which means less of the enemy team will be paying attention to your FC.
When I'm running with a good teammate over Skype, I ask for 1 healer to follow me (I flag carry, my friend supports) and the rest of the team to camp mid. Unless the enemy team is well coordinated, it almost always works out in my favor.
Speaking of randoms, of course.

Herding cats is doable.
You need shock colars and a cattle prod.

People are so hardcore about mid-fighting I got into a small argument with a Rogue about how he believed we were losing because all the healers were not helping/healing mid fighters, and instead running with the FC.
And the little hope i had left for the human race was lost.

I'm going to be 100% honest with you. When all hope is lost, I do admit to trying to get honor kills. It's usually within the last minute before we are doomed to loose the BG.
Although, I do notice a ton of people do that in the beginning of the 'capture the flag type BGs.' It's frustrating. Instead of backing up the one who needs to be protected from getting killed, they sort-of just stay and kill hostile toons who aren't even anywhere near or even capable of becoming a threat. I've even asked in the instance chat for them to stay near the 'flag' and the majority don't listen. I still hope that maybe one day they will learn.
One time when they
did
listen and stick around the flag carrier during a Twin Peaks battle, every toon ended up in the horde base and the most epic battle I have ever witnessed ensued. We had two awesome healers and I still wish that there was someone in my realm or whatever that I could fondly recall this with...

What's the point of winning though? got more honour then i can spend.
Hence i'd rather have fun losing, then doing boring objectives and win.

Why do you do battlegrounds than? Do arenas or world pvp. All the randoms came to do objectives. If you dont want to do them and find them boring AND you have plenty of honour you dont need - dont spoil other people games by doing your own thing OR find a group of similar players and go RBG where you dont have to bother with objectives and have fun losing all together.
@Tush:
/facepalm
Can you please read the Wowpedia quoted fragment again? Whole fragment, not just the bolded part.
Well not all of us have time to manage 10 characters, and since you can't do arena's on your own nor participate in multiple teams and blizz removed skirmish one is somewhat reliant on random bg when one wants some quick pvp and ones team mates aren't online.
Especially being a healer, there is also not much fun to be had in world pvp or any of those kind. And with the attitude most ppl have towards RatedBG, gl finding 9 other ppl who just want to do them for fun, not to mention that it is by no means fast.
While I definitely don't focus on the objectives, that's not to say I don't do them if there is action going on around them. One should also consider that 10ppl running flag isn't necesseraly better then 8 ppl gooving around in middle as long as those 8 ppl actually control middle then, which with me healing them, they usually end up doing ;) And either I'm a very lucky person, or my win ratio of 80% actually backs that argument up.
Also if your only factor of fun in bg's is winning and collecting your honour, which this is all about as no one ever complained about the team not doing objectives when they won, I'd say you're going about this all wrong. It's still a game where you're supposed to have fun, not win as much BG asap so you can gear up asap, bc that would just make it a 2nd job.

HK's isn't something I choose to farm but when you're thrown in with a bunch of idiots who came straight from fighting dragons then pursuing objectives becomes pointless and frustrating. In times like these and when honor is worthless then I do just want to kill as many of them as I can, for achievements and fun.
