Edit: Except for the Monk.

Isn't what makes a hunter their pet? Hunters are a pain to deal with because of their pets. Sounds to me like you need to rethink your class decision.

As a hunter myself, I think that we're right now in the best position we've been in since I started in terms of fun abilities, and PvP utility, and from your post I am thinking it's PvP that you are talking about.
A) There's no minimum range for people to exploit anymore. You should still be kiting, of course, but this is a nice bonus.
B) Stampede is a huge burst of damage, and your pets will also cast their abilities giving your character buffs as though in a full party if you choose your pets carefully. Spirit beasts will also heal, pets that CC will use their CC's, etc. Most people call this the hunter I win button, and I tend to agree.
C) The first three tiers of hunter talents are all PvP talents, and you can choose from:
15: A way to trinket out of movement impairing effects and speed boost, an AOE root, or increased use of your two primary defensive skills.
30: A Silence, Sleep or tether
45: Damage mitigation or heals
D) Concussive shot has a shorter cooldown than duration and takes no focus, so you should be able to kite someone around with that quite effectively. When they have abilities that would counter that, you can disengage, drop a freezing trap or Scatter shot them to get away again. Also, scatter shot is now given to every spec. Also, BM hunters have Intimidate for an additional stun.
E) Ice traps allow you to slow more than one person, if you need to, so again- yay for kiting.
F) You can cast just about everything while running now, so there is never a need to stand still, and you lose no DPS by running.
G) You have Deterrence, which is basically a hunter bubble, which you can glyph to reflect damage back at attackers. And with readiness, you can have 2 back to back if they pop all the cooldowns.
H) You can pop camouflage for 6 seconds in combat to make you untargetable with ranged attacks.
I) Flare for detecting stealthies.
J) In addition to having scatter-shot and probably your level 30 talent to interrupt, you also can feign death during a channeled cast to make them lose target and lose the cast. And again, with readiness, you can use all of these twice in a row if necessary.
I) Masters Call will get you out of snares and such.
J) Your choice in pet can give you whatever buff you need, provide healing, or give you additional CC depending on your choice.
Other classes definitely have tricks they can use against us, but it goes both ways. I don't know anyone who would call hunters under-powered or disadvantaged in PvP.
If your gripe is with PvE, I don't know what the official ranking are right now, but I know that every DPS class is capable of putting out quite a bit of damage, and while it may be that our maximum potential is behind other classes, it's not by enough that we're not capable of pulling huge numbers as well. There are 2 hunters in my 10-man group, and we're not lagging behind on the meters by any means. Also, the removal of minimum range makes stacking when boss mechanics all for it easier, and the survivability talents get a lot of use when there are raid-wide AOE's.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##ElhonnaDS##DELIM##

Why every class except HUNTER have got:
999 stunning skills(gruid,pala,rogue)
999 protecting skills(pala,mag,priest etc.)
999 healing skills(pala,druid,priest,shaman)
9923489895 dps(priest,warrior,pala)
and ofc. all in one(pala,monk,druid)
Ugh... when you make morosely exaggerated claims like this, without making any quantified or qualified comparison, your argument loses all credibility. Especially when hunters do have these, and other unique, skills.

I got 999 problems but a stun ain't one :)List them, and I'm sure I'll be able to twist one of them into a stun of some description. :D

If nothing else, we will make it extremely tedious and time consuming to kill us by making you chase us all over =D

However I would actually like to see one of the hunter specs dedicated to more of a ranger class, utilizing stealth, traps and being less reliant on pets.
Old skool Survival? Except for the stealth that is.

Yeah pretty much but I'd like rogue type stealth system. Give us a temp pet summon ala Ghoul or AotD and you'd have a very interesting spec.
Kinda like
this
then?
