Hey everyone! The last time i played WoW was before the Firelands release and now i'm thinking on starting again. Thing is, i wanna "start-over" class-wise, meaning i won't be playing my 85 elemental shaman. What would you guys suggest for pve?
Here are some things to keep in mind: Reasonable amount of damage(obviously) plus a kinda chill class not needing to look out for 30 timers but not as boring as arcane mage as i remember him etc.
I don't like a class in particular during the age of MoP so i'm sort of clueless. Cheers!

Would help if you narrowed it down to a caster or melee. :p I'm assuming from the reasonable damage part that you're looking for a dps spec. Most specs aren't super far apart - it's more down to gear than it is to spec at the moment, though obviously things like cleave can make quite a bit of difference on certain fights.

Well, hunters have way too many CDs to manage right now, so don't go that way. I've found dks to be fairly easy to get the hang of. As a bonus, you could also tank (and well!) with one if you ever got tired of dpsing.

Oops! I would prefer a ranged class to be honest, and yes i was refering to dps.

Then you are playing a hunter, warlock, mage or priest.
The game as a whole has gotten a lot easier so even the most complicated classes aren't really that complicated anymore. The complicated part, if there is a compliacted part, is in the configuration of the class, spec, gear, glyphs stat prioritization etc.

If your not a chart topping freak...then shadow Priest.
A.) You can use the same gear as a healing spec since spirit=hit. This allows you to mix and match gear in and out to maintain your spell hit cap.
B.) You can play looser since you have shield, heals and CC's. Health low...just pop a few cool downs and your good to go again.
C.) Versatility...at any moment you can provide supplemental shield and heals to keep a party from wiping at a critical moment.
D.) If you like the challenge of managing your rotation. No one finger spam here.
Not as someone posted .."couple of Dots and MindBlast." This spec is addon intense if you want to get the most out of your dps.

Shadow Priest is exceptionally easy for leveling also, with PWS and the glyph. Taking on 2 or 3 mobs is really easy. Shadow Priest is my current favorite to play.
Cheers.

Thanks alot for your opinions/suggestions guys, now i have some leads on what to look for. Truth is i like being on "top", standing out on recount etc, but no need to be like omg #1 pls. But yeah, i've got something to research. Cheers!

If the history of this game has taught us one thing...if you play a class/spec purely for the DPS numbers..you will eventually get burned when they nerf it and be stuck with a class you may not enjoy otherwise.

Not boring caster?
Only class spec thing would be Afliction Warlock.
On hunter its only arcane shot
, priest couple dots + mind blast, mage arcaneblast/fireball + dots/frostbolt...
I don't know what hunter you are playing, but mine is alot more then Arcane-shotting stuff.
If you want ranged, go hunter or lock.
Both are fun to play atm, and in 5.3 hunters get a nice dps boost.
Besides that, their stable gets boosted and can store up to 50 pets (now 20). Better start collecting!
If you want to one-hit people in PVP, go Warlock. I'm 50/50 on Malevol/Tyrr gear on my holy pala and I still get critted for 140k shadow bolts...

Truth is, the classes i tend for the most are elemental shaman, destro lock and MM hunter. I don't know if i wanna re-play shaman but the other 2 are a tad overused.
