I am fairly new to WoW and would like to get better DPS on my ret pally- Reverberate. I have tried everything I can but I only get around 50k dps. What should I be getting and what am I doing wrong?

Ok just a few things that I see before I have to get ready for work.
1) Your stacking strength instead of Haste.
2) Fix your soft caps 7.5 Hit and Exp. or 2550 rating. Your over your hit cap and your exp needs some work.
3) Stack your cd's don't space them out GOAK a few seconds before AW and Hammer. Your be surprised how many people I see not doing this. We are a burst class.

If you use holy avenger talent you wanna time them so they end at the same time since that way your guardian will give the most benefit to the other cd's.
so pop guardian + inquisition, use potion 5 sec later if you wanna use that, another 5 sec later you use AW and HA, then they'll all end together and you'll have a maximized profit from your cd's.
if you use the AW talent just pop guardian + inquisition + AW at the same time and pot 5 sec later.
correct me if I'm wrong but that's what logic tells me

Logic is there but wrong order.
Pre-Pot> Inq.>Guardian> then AW > then Hammer .
You pre-pot so that you can get 2 potion uses per fight one before the pull and 1 Dearing. Inq. is next because of the bonus to Holy Damage and Crit. Guardian is next because it will buff you Strength. AW because you now have the 4k (or so strength) from the potion, the bonus to holy damage, the 10% Crit, and the 20% Strength (so to be nerfed for a good trade) .
With the change of abilities you will see crazy hits or Ticks from TV and from Hammer. Depending on your gear and stats its only going to improve.
I'll have to test out the data but I believe that Guardian acts like a minion when summoned so it would befit from the extra Strength and Crit.

I wasn't exactly talking about a raidfight starting burst situation. I just said how to maximize your burst acting as if you are already in combat or as if it's a really short fight (pvp or pandaria rare ...).
On a fight with burst at start like council you'd do it the same way like I said but with pre-pot instead of pot 5 sec after guardian, but on a fight like Jin'rokh where you use burst 1 minute into the fight, that was the situation I was talking about.

Str is better than haste for ret due to it increasing melee damage plus our spell damage. imo there is a point where haste stops being so effective, more so if you use divine purpose over holy avenger.
Really,
Prove it....
I have a 540 IL Ret Pally that still uses haste over Strength and there are others on my server that are 550+ that still stack haste. So prove it I want to see the numbers and links.
Edit: This is from Icy Veins
2.3. Strength Versus Haste Rating
At lower gear levels (pre-raid gear all the way until average Tier 14 raiding gear), one point of Strength is worth more than two points of Haste Rating, making Strength desirable in terms of gemming. Once you exceed this gear level, however, Strength becomes less valuable, meaning that gemming Haste becomes the better option.
The "gear level" criteria we provide is rather rough, so you should simulate your character in Simulationcraft to find out the exact point when Haste becomes better than Strength for you.
You should never really skip a gear upgrade because it does not have Haste Rating on it, though, since Mastery Rating and Critical Strike rating are both rather close in value to Haste Rating, so the increased item level of the upgrade is generally preferable.

Yes I am also losing DPS as of the other day, I was able to solo almost all Rare's in Panderia with no problems, now it seems weird but I went to Tempest keep to do my weekly dungeon thing and ended up dying twice before I could finish the stupid thing let alone be able to solo the Rare's I was able to before ( O_o ). I would like to know what happened to my Ret Pally ?
