Did you actually read the full text, wherever you heard about it?
According to the
NY Times:
"We are unaware of any surveillance taking place," said a spokesman for Blizzard Entertainment, based in Irvine, Calif., which makes World of Warcraft. "If it was, it would have been done without our knowledge or permission."
Blizzard is one of the companies I would expect to say "^&*! you" to any such request that is not legally airtight, and even go public with any kind of pressure put upon them to coerce access to user data.
What I expect those "spies" did: hang around in /2, listen and reply to any lunatic raving about something, and befriend them to find out whether they are an actual threat. And by that, I'm already giving them a lot more credit that they probably deserve.
Also, it's not a "latest leak", as far as I got it, this is just another part of the initial leak - I don't think Snowden still has access to new information.
