Couple of days...however, contrary to what people tell you, Blizzard never bans for no reason so if you were arguing, insulting other users and Blizzard, probably called it down on yourself.

Sigh... Anyone know how to find out how long these bans last?
Arguing a point - no ban
Arguing an being a jerk - ban
I 100% guarantee you that you were not banned for argueing a point intelligently without breaching the forum rules.
I know people like you love to blame Blizzard for everything but it simply isn't the case.

Did you react to someone who overreached in a similar way? Odds are, you both got banned, not for your opinion, but for the flaming.

Hey guys- leaving this open for now, since it seems like the discussion is fairly constructive. As long as everyone plays nice, and stays on the topic of what does and does not earn a ban in a civil and constructive manner, everything should be golden.
@OP- If you'd like to continue to discuss the flying issue here, as I see you began to in the news thread regarding WoD flying feel free. Personally, I wish they would stay with the WoD model of delay until max level- I think that no flying for the whole expac is pretty lame.

Perhaps the following links will provide some insight:
-
Warnings, Suspensions, and Closures
- This document describes the Penalty Volcano, which outlines the disciplinary actions that Blizzard can take
-
Code of Conduct
"The guidelines and rules listed below explain what behavior is expected of you and what behavior you can expect from other community members"
-
Terms of Use (ToU)
-
End User License Agreement (EULA)
Note the following about giving notice of any account action (found under the 6.Account Suspension/Deletion
Section of the ToU
)
BLIZZARD MAY SUSPEND, TERMINATE, MODIFY, OR DELETE ANY BNET ACCOUNT OR WORLD OF WARCRAFT ACCOUNT AT ANY TIME FOR ANY REASON OR FOR NO REASON, WITH OR WITHOUT NOTICE TO YOU. For purposes of explanation and not limitation, most account suspensions, terminations and/or deletions are the result of violations of this Terms of Use or the EULA.

Hello PragmaticSoul,
My best advice if you wish to enquire further as to the length and reasoning for your ban/suspension would be to contact Blizzard via this email: CSFeedbackEU@blizzard.com (EU) or
CSFeedbackUS@blizzard.com
wowcmfeedback@blizzard.com / wowreportedpost@blizzard.com (US).
I am surprised that you've not been informed via email of your ban/suspension, it may be worth checking the Spam box in your email in case it went there.
I hope this information helps,
Dave the Sloth.

What is this i see? No flying at all? Is that because its easier to design the game world without flying? I personally like that decision, i like ground mounts and spontaneous pvp (if its reasonably fair fights), the only downside i see about that is slower farming for ores and herbs.

And, y'know, the people who get bored of riding past the same scenery for the twelve thousandth time and just want to get to the stuff they actually want to do already.

Can you post a link to the page where we can contact the mods of the forum?
Source: US Forums
Support Contact Channels > Reporting a Post/Feedback
To contest forum penalties, please email wowreportedpost@blizzard.com using the registered Battle.net e-mail address associated with the account in question.
Source: EU Forums>
Forum Guidelines - Please Read
Forum bans: have you re-read the Code of Conduct (
http://eu.battle.net/en/community/conduct
) and the ban explanation, and are still convinced you did not break the rules (that badly)? Feel free to contact us about it
here
, but keep in mind that it’s no guarantee the ban will be overturned.
I hope this helps :)
Edit: Added EU information

Hi PragmaticSoul,
I apologise that the email didn't work, it's what I have used in the past (though many years ago). Hope that you hear back soon.

I don't think I argued too vehemently. Nor do I think I was being abusive. But... really? The "pro-grounding" advocates call us "pro-flying" advocates names, demand that we play the game the way THEY want it played, and WE get banned because we say "how about letting us decide how we want to play the game"?
That was quite nicely worded, but could something you had said been perceived as abusive by someone else?

But you are still flying past the same scenery so it's not a very good point, your comment just boils down to the fact you want to be somewhere faster.
I personally think they'll introduce flying at some point in WoD, I do not think it will flesh out the world as much as they expect because as they do now, players will just sit at their cities or near their farms/garrison.
You can't force people to do something it's not in their nature to do and with the tools currently available a large number of players would rather sit on their butts waiting for a queue to pop or group to form.

But the system doesn't auto ban, so at some point a moderator must have looked at the conversations and pressed the ban hammer button.
So there has to have been something warranting a ban throughout the course of the discussion.
You can see the OP has quite strong views just by his wording and capitalization of words, without being privy to the whole conversations it's his word against a moderator, and I'm sure the majority of people who get banned feel hard done by.

Yes, that's exactly my point. I'm not sure what you're trying to say here.
