Astromages in Mechanar drop this item. It is the best tailoring patteron for getting from 360 to 375 (requires netherweave bolts instead of imbued netherweave, so it's cheaper)

"Using addendum C instead of imbued netherweave robes/tunics will save you 390 netherweave and 34 netherweb spider silk. You will need more rune thread and 342 arcane dust (instead of 204). All in all, you will save almost 300 gold (by the estimations used before), and you will have the 35 bolts of imbued cloth (from the 340-350 step) left over, which can then be used bags, transmutes,

Did two mechanar runs for this pattern to drop. Note when it drops only people with tailoring who don't have the pattern can see the roll window.

Got it on my first Mechanar run, by far the best way to raise to 375. Save yourself some gold on the way to 375 and get some Sha'tar rep at the same time by getting this pattern.

Took me 4 or 5 runs to get it. Don't forget the drop rate's actually higher since only tailors can see the roll.

In an attempt to get this pattern, I've ran a few extra Mechanar runs.. No luck so far. It's quite a nice little farm i got going on, I like the feeling when someone is about to loot an Astromage.
(especially when it's my loot)

When i get this pattern, rather than if, i will be able to gain the last ten tailoring skills pretty cheap. Disenchanting TBC-greens helps out alot with the Arcane Dusts.

Another HUGE benefit is the 100% guaranteed chance of getting a Large Prismatic Shard when disenchanted. Makes them worth both trying to sell and disechant. Can't get them sold for 20G or more? Disenchant and sell the shard!

Though some tailors may be unlucky with drop rate, I would guess the rate may be higher than what is shown here. When the recipe drops only tailors can see it in the loot window. If it by chance drops on a run with no tailors no one in the group would be able to see it and I would suppose the information would not be recorded to the databases.

I was fortunate and got both boots and robe in my first Mechanar run. Good luck and if you are farming for the recipe with little luck think of the reputation and other goodies you are getting in the process.

I guess that, since there are relatively few Astromages in the instance, your chances of success may vary wildly.

Most tailors I know got this pattern within a small number of runs. On the other hand, I have reached exalted status with sha'tar with the vast majority of runs being through Mechanar, and I've only seen this pattern drop once (I lost the roll).

So if you happen to find yourself in this unfortunate situation, think of it this way. If you still need stuff out of the instance, by all means keep trying. On the other hand, if you have everything you want out of it and/or are keen to get max tailoring (for example, to access the Primal Mooncloth Robes), then you might consider biting the bullet and making the imbued robes/tunics. If you're worried about the money, consider that time spent farming for this pattern could be spend in your favourite alternative instances or even farming to make money and collect cloth. You could well end up ahead of someone who just horded the mats hoping for this pattern to drop, and you won't go mad running the same instance over and over.

It's been a couple of months since I made my Primal Mooncloth Robe. I still run heroic Mechanar for badges on a regular basis, and (as I mentioned) I still don't have this pattern. I don't care any more since I don't need it and don't intend to make it, but it's kind of funny. That's the way the cookie crumbles I guess.

After reading Maytal's woes about this pattern dropping, I thought I would never get this pattern.
However, I ran Mech today though and this pattern dropped twice. O.o

If you're trying to complete your collection of tailoring patterns, note that it is entirely possible to solo this instance as an arcane mage -- just abuse Mirror Image on the bosses and Invisibility on the bridge trash. If you're just going for the pattern, though, it's probably more efficient to just clear up to Nethermancer and then reset. The drop rate is pretty awful, though.

As others have noted below, this pattern ONLY DROPS IN NORMAL MODE.

After umpity-ump runs on heroic I finally decided to check here and do my research. /facepalm
Pattern dropped on my first run in Normal mode.

Just an up to date comment; I ran this instance dozens of times in Heroic and came up empty handed. Just read the "Normal" mode comments here and ran the instance in Normal and it dropped first run through. So the comments of Normal still hold true.

For me it took 15 runs before I got the pattern. A few of them were on heroic, maybe 2 or 3, the rest were on normal. So at least a dozen runs before it dropped.

Thought it would be worth mentioning seeing how there's a lot of reports from people getting it on their first run. That won't always be the case.

Decided to run The Mechanar today for the very first time, trying for the Arcanoweave Boots and Robe Patterns. Got to the bridge just past Nethermancer Sepethrea, and 2 waves of Blood Elves came at me as I stepped up onto it. Burned them down and the Tempest-Forge Destroyer backing them, looted the corpses ( of which 2 were Sunseeker Astromages) and lo and behold, TWO copies of Pattern: Arcanoweave Boots were in my bags. Sad part being that they are BoP so I can't sell the extra one.

I only had to kill a total of 6 Astromages on the very first run to acquire the Boots pattern, but alas, not so the Robe. Pathaleon is still holding out on me. If my calculations are correct, he'll not give up his pattern easily.
