A good place to farm these is the Forge Camp: Wrath in western area of Blade's Edge Mountains (accessible only by flying). The wrath hounds there are relatively easy to kill, there's plenty of them and you don't have to kill anything else but the hounds.

In addition to Rithiur's note, the Hounds at Forge Camp: Wrath drop motes of shadow as well, a reagent for fel leather items.

Warp Chasers in Netherstorm at the tempest rift (68,60) have a 14.8% chance to drop them when skinned.

The Warp Chasers also have some very nice (but rare 0.01%) blue drops http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=18884#00zRc

Went to forge Camp Wrath. surrounded by elites and tons of mobs. I'd suggest being well geared or bring a friend.

Good spot I found happened to be at Arklon Ruins in Netherstorm. The fel hounds have a good drop rate of fel hide, and at the same time drop marks and fel armaments for Aldor. Within a half an hour I got:
9 fel hide
4 fel armament
15 marks
16 knothide
55 scraps

That's strange. I am still in Hellfire, and I've been farming Helboars- I've gotten 15 Fel Hides in two hours- after being there for two levels i've farmed and sold about 30 Fel Hides.

the Arifact Seekers in Arklon Ruins in Netherstorm are quite good, especially due to the aldor rep drops, but there are quite a few of the other big demons patrolling around, and in terms of fel hide, they are completely useless, just be careful of that, otherwise still a good spot.

(as a level 70 hunter) i found the Blackwind Warp Stalker ideal to farm, because they also drop Warped Flesh which i use for my Food, and i have to be there anyway because of the Skettis quest.

I found the Arklon Ruins to be a good spot as well; the fel hounds were plentiful (enough) and in a small area. They didn't drop any frivolous greys to fill up my inventory, and I sold the Marks of Sargeras I got. It's even better for Aldor skinners because of this.

I'd say the easiest way to get a lot of fel leather quickly is, if you have a flying mount, go to forge camp wrath in Blades Edge Mountains and skin the corpses of the Wrath Hounds that people killed from their daily quests.

The artifact seekers at Arklon Ruins are annoying for casters since they mana burn, so I went onto the Warp Chasers also in Netherstorm. The drop rate should be the same.

As a level 80 farming mats for leatherworking bags I found that the Warp Chasers in Netherstorm were indeed the best available farming creature.
The Wrath Hounds in Forge Camp: Wrath and Fel Hounds in Arklon Ruins are simply not in the supply that a higher level character requires for constant farming. Whereas the Warp Chasers are spread out more, but there is a large supply of them. While the invisibility can be annoying it was still not difficult to gather 3-4 of them to kill at once.
One additional advantage to farming the Warp Chasers is that in the same area are Swiftwing Shredders which drop Wind Scales. There are not many of them but it can be worth it to kill them in addition to groups of Warp Chasers since they are wandering through the area anyway.

As of March 2012 I have found farming these hides (after hitting Blade's Edge and Shadowmoon Valley) that the Blackwind Warp Chasers in Terrokar Forrest have the highest drop rate for Fel Hide. They respawn really quickly, and seem to have a 1-in-4 drop rate. You can find them in SE Terrokar Forrest near Skettis, on the West side of the lake. For those using coordinates, they are most prolific around 62,82.

I have to agree with Varla. As of 4.3.4 I had a horrible time trying to farm these based off of the percentages shown on wowhead. Just got 3 from Blackwind Warp Chases in my first 10 skins.

Granted my server is pretty low pop, but I can't even find the mats for the Leatherworking Bag in the AH anymore.

(Actually just got another 3 from a single mob.)

I'm a level 85, Frost Specced DK with 112k health. The easiest option for me, that resulted in:
4 Fel Hide
40 KH Leather Scraps
150 KH Leathers
and about 24 gold

I go to Org/SW, and portal to blasted lands. From there, fly to Deadwind pass, and go to Karazhan. Set the difficulty to 10 man.

Move through the instance, and skip all bosses. When I enter, i immediately take a right, and skip ALL spiders. Go straight to bats, and clear out those three rooms, and the one large room behind it. You should see it on your map.

It takes me four minutes and 52 seconds, at best, to clear all the mobs, and get the above items (divided by 3).

The items I listed were obtained during three quick runs. Personally, I only needed 30 free slots for ALL three runs together, and never had to drop a single thing!

As of patch 5.3, a very good place to farm Fel Hide is hands down the Arklon Ruins in Netherstorm (southeast of Area 52 flight point). Farmed Artifact Seeker with a lvl 90 Hunter with skinning and never ran out of mobs to kill/skin. Drop rate was 20 x Fel Hide in 30 minutes.

In response to 'dautcalm', I needed more Fel Hide to craft a transmog set, and spent exactly 31:05 minutes in the Arklon Ruins in Netherstorm and got 20 x Fel Hide. As a Hunter, throw on Demon tracking and kill EVERYTHING that moves. Just killing Artifact Seeker is not going to make mobs respawn fast enough. You need to also kill Felblade Doomguard. And of course, have skinning, these do not "drop", they are skinned.

So far i have been farming warp chaser in netherstorm with my demon hunter, in 15 minutes i got 17 fel hides so i think this will be a good spot to farm these, the only problem i see is the moment when they vanish but you can use spectral sight (if you are a demon hunter) to see every hidden mob of this kind

I found the best place to farm these at higher levels is Karazhan.
1) Go into the level 70 portal.
2) Turn right and either nuke all the spiders or avoid them in the first room.
3) Mass pull the dogs and bats, AoE and skin.
4) Reset the instance.
I only get 1-3 Fel Hide per run, but it is fast, easy and in my control how fast the adds respawn.
There is also the added benefit of all the Heavy Knothide Leather I can make.
Lastly if you decide to also decide to do a loop of the servants quarters and pull all the Undead you can get 8-17 Soul Essence and Netherweave cloth which is needed to make Soul Cloth. Soul Cloth no longer has a daily Tailoring CD but is needed for the majority of high level BC crafting recipes.
With the changes coming to crafting in Shadow Lands expansion allowing you to up the item level of crafted gear some of these BoE crafted armors with multiple sockets might become extremely viable again rather than just for twinks.
Approximate average per run was:
~14 Knothide Leather Scraps
~106 Knothide Leather
~4 Fel Hide
~109 Netherweave Cloth
~77 Soul Essence
~3 Netherweb Spider Silk
~16 greens for vendoring or transmog sell
~312g RAW
~56g-Vendored Greys

So.. the last 5 levels, prolly spent around 30 k gold and hours upon hours farming, the best place is really in karazhan to the right when you step in, remember not to kil the boss that spawns after killing all the bats and spiders (bodypull them and mow them down in the end). The place in netherstorm is the warp chasers or what they are called, got like 1 per 15 kill I would say. I thought there was a "master of all proffessions" in outland, I realized there isnt. So I spent what 50 hours and a total for 300-400 k I would believe to lvl them all up, for nothing (-:

You do get achivement for maxing 1 though, gl!
