I vendored this early on while leveling thinking that +hit is useless but as it turns out, it's extremely important for raiding rogues looking for sustained dps. Don't make the same mistake thinking it's crap.

FYI: Though it says it has a 2 min. cooldown, it's actually a 90 sec. cooldown.

I'm really surprised there's almost no comments made here whatsoever, this trinket is well worthy of discussion imo. :)

Looking at http://www.wowhead.com/?items=4.-4&filter=cr=95;crs=1;crv=0 it's clear to see that there are very few trinkets that provide physical hit rating in the game, and most of which do exist come from raid instances.

I personally consider this to be one of the best pre-raiding trinkets for a physical dps class, much like Rune of the Guard Captain was one of the best pre-raiding trinkets back when people were starting MC and BWL. It's also quite a decent trinket for a tank needing a boost to their hit raiting to improve threat gain (even more so with the use-effect of the trinket).

Unless you're lucky enough to own a Drakefang Talisman or a Kiss of the Spider, the only really viable alternative pre-25-man trinkets that have hit rating on them are Romulo's Poison Vial (Karazhan, Opera Event) and Icon of Unyielding Courage (Heroic Blood Furnace, Keli'dan the Breaker). (Refer to the first link of this post to see a list of all these trinkets.)

So, keep this trinket, don't just throw it away because you find a trinket that gives a little more AP on use. Otherwise you might find yourself regretting discarding a cheap 22 hit rating. :)

Note to Druids, while prowling in cat form and activating this trinket it immediately takes me out of stealth. A big bummer considering I planned to activate it and Tigers Fury at the same time for some big Ravage crits. Anyway I'd assumed it'd do the same thing to Rogues but not 100% sure.

I use this along with Bladefist's Breadth

Between them they provide a nice 30 second boost to ap. They don't share a cd, but you can't trigger the use while the Heroism or Ferocity +ap buff is present, unfortunately.

As a protection specced paladin hit rating isn't really crucial its nice once you have a good balance of other tanking stats you need and of course once you've reached uncrush and uncrittability for raiding. Generally I would say don't gear directly for it but it isn't bad to pick some up, there are a few tanking pieces that have a little bit of hit rating on them from badges and raiding alike.

With the recent new recipes to engineering, engineers can now make http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45631, which has just a bit more hit then this trinket does. I've been using this trinket since I made it at lv49.
For the bonus of extra AP Terokkar Tablet of Precision is good, but I'll stick with my flashlight a while longer.
