Using this item on a follower will replace one of their traits, instead of adding on to it. So if your follower only has one trait then it will be replaced.

This is a POWERFUL trait, do not waste this. The most ideal use for this is to use it on an uncommon follower to replace a profession trait that you know you will not use.

This is the same as Extra Training, and can stack with that or with itself.

As jetal mentioned in a reply which deserves its own comment, this also affects any Bonus Follower XP mission reward, from completing a mission successfully. It will not show in the rewards box before the mission, but it will show as floating combat text in the mission report, when accepting the reward after the mission is over.

To expand upon sdkphoenix's comment, give this to an uncommon (green) follower with a useless single trait, because you know what it will replace. Ideally one that's level 90, so the follower will benefit herself the whole way up. A higher quality follower with all useless traits would also work, but those don't grow on trees (plus she wouldn't receive the benefit for as long).

I used it on a follower with extra training already and she now gives 70% boost xp. I didn't see anyone mention it so i had it tested myself.

I believe that applying this to a follower who already has Extra Training has a chance to just replace that trait, and hence waste the item... so be careful what follower you put this on.

This can be applied to a follower who already has this trait.

Of course you have the chance it will just replace itself but it's nice when it doesn't. I had extra training and hearthstone pro, was hoping to replace the third trait but it replaced the extra training one, so I gained 5% more.

I have started using these on followers that already have the Extra Training ability. It usually overwrites it (which is okay since Extra Training only grants +30% instead of the +35% it used to and which Hearthstone Pro does). Occasionally, however, it will overwrite another trait, yielding a follower that will grant +65%. I have submitted a screenshot showing the first follower I managed to accomplish this with.

As of patch 6.2 you can select which trait you want to replace with this, making it much more awesome. As such you definitely want to give it to someone with Extra Training, ideally someone whom you want to keep around for a while, e.g. an epic follower with only one weak trait (which you will replace). Sadly you cannot give it to someone who already has Hearthstone Pro.
