I'm going to stop debating the wall - but I sure hope it is built soon.
I wish the so-called hardcore raiders would just shut up about part of the game that are none of their concern. For the non-raiding pve lover out there, a big silent majority, the farm, garrisons en now mission tables has become an integral part of WOW. I hope this will end up as player housing at some point, it should be inevitable. As it is, having the mini game with quest lines attached, and a robust ap on your phone, is one of the best part of the game for me and I am glad they are continuing it.
From one point onward missions feel like a chore. It was cool to have them as a follower, and up to a point kind of fun to go after the rewards. If anything in BfA they should reduce the number of the followers and not increase them. I say keep the missions, but reduce the time to complete missions, the followers, the missions and leave them out from the campaign progress. Also make the rewards really matter, like it was with artifact power and reputation.
Why wont they just kill this system? It's not engaging or fun and serves as a time gate, and nothing more.
Here we go again... They never learn it seems.
Well, probably a WC3 style warfront base
Look, the fact is the missions table is a resource delivery system; it exists to provide gold, crafting fuel, Heart of Azeroth tokens (formerly AP), and probably most important of all, the occasional piece of dungeon/raid gear. The developers need the players to have a certain amount of incoming resources for the game systems to function, but they know players are not going to farm enough world quests to get what they need, and they’re not going to just increase the rewards from world quests or design more of them. The mission table provides them a fancy way of adding flavor to the game (which is important to them) while functioning as a way to give the players cash & prizes, the things that keep us playing.
Why, why do we have to do the stupid mission table thing again, let it die.
I really, really hope they make the new missions fully implemented in the mobile app. Having to pick 3 types of troops manually on Argus, in 3 different locations, with all alts is a big PITA.And it would be so great if they retroactively added the garrison & shipyard missions to the app.And include a mini-farmville game for the Pandaria farm. Then our bathroom time would be super-productive.
I hate the mission table, worst feature of Legion. In WoD it was ok since it was so overpowered for making gold.
I don't understand why people are making such a big deal about this. It's a nice way to make gold and get some extra stuff, but it's not mandatory your're damage, healing or whatever won't get nerfed if you don't do the missions from the table. Personally I like it and I do understand that it's not the cup of tea for everyone, however instead of trying to take away by ranting in the forums you could just don't do it and your gameplay won't be affected at all.
Look, obviously the fact we're getting it in BFA shows it's more popular than people think. If it was just about "time gating story", no one would do the missions past the campaign. Obviously Blizzard's data is showing a high level of activity in the mission system throughout the expansion, including when there are no quests associated with it.
I may have an unpopular opinion, but I LOVED the system. As someone who works and study, I just have to use the app to get gold, runes, blood of sargeras, etc. And doing it on alt didn't feel bad: as everyone had a different campaign, I loved the story and how they grew with me (also, with Broken Shore and Argus catch-ups, is really easy obtaining everything)
I think it's funny, a lot of the comments here are gonna be negative, and people get the impression that "a majority of the player base doesn't want this" but....those of us who are content with it so long as it isn't any more intrusive than it was in Legion aren't saying anything only because we aren't emotionally affected by this. I'm sorry to the people who don't want this feature, but don't get too skewed in your thinking that "everyone" hates it or something.
Blizzard, please. No one likes this...
Saying "a majority of the player base doesn't want this" does not equal "Everyone" - go back and review the posts, most people didn't like it in WoD(which included a shipping yard mission table) and don't like it in Legion, they are not going to like it in BfA
