I am so so SO with you on this one.I am also here more for a social reason than making a career out of WoW. I enjoy advancing my toon/s and hate that I have to join anonymous dungeons to do so.And people you used to meet used to help you with advice and help. Nowadays you just get abused for not being/wearing what you 'ought to be'.Crazy in my opinion - this is a GAME when all is said and done.Oh .. and this was in reply to :By ursaminor 1 day ago (Patch 3.3.2)So I know there is a lot of raving about the lfd system here and all the phat lewtz it gives you but I for one hate it... for many reasons, most of which I will not go into. But I will mention the thing that disturbs me the most about it, although I use it every day for the frost; it is the anonymity. I meet 4 toons for the duration of a dungeon, usually about 15-20 min, which I have never seen before and will never see again. ...etcUnlike most people perhaps, I like wow for the social aspect more than the looting; gearing up is fun, having friends to show that gear off to, raid with or just hang out with is better. So a system that discourages friendships in favor of bad behavior and greed I find to be fail. I would love it if WOW could modify this system to encourage or at least allow friendships, perhaps even allowing people to match up with friends if they find them.
I understand the why behind the "free epics," but I don't necessarily like it. Honestly, I think the multiple badge system was a bad idea. They should have stuck with one type of badge, and made the gear cost more and more as the quality goes up. And of course the harder raids would have the bosses dropping more.Just like old Karazhan-farming, you could farm Naxx for badges and learn some raiding basics and improve your play. As your gear improved, you could move up a tier every so often and earn badges faster and experience content.Blizzard is just wanting everyone to have the opportunity to experience the end of one of the most important chapters in Warcraft lore, and the events leading up to it.Personally, I think Ulduar got snubbed too quickly, considering how vast the story behind it was.EDIT: I'm too lazy to go back and quote it, but I saw someone say ICC was the hardest raid in WoW. While I agree it's the hardest in Wrath, it's nowhere near as difficult as AQ and Naxx 40 were.
great article! and so true.. for the veterans among us: just think of the good old days when you ran Scholomance as much as possible for a tiny winy little chance of the Headmaster's Charge.
I think the LFD feature is awesome-the best idea for dungeons made by bliz so far,not only emblems for end-game players producing gear faster than before and also sacks with gear for lowbies making it easy to get some decent gear for current lvl, with this it makes easier and faster to roll an alt in most fast ways than simple questing/grinding and with the bg xperience is a lot of boost.(Which will be boosted with the new feature bliz gonna show us next patch)Well i also like to comment this one, thought a lot of you gonna hate me for it:Blizzard noticed players were dropping rather than attempting to run The Oculus, so they tweaked the difficulty level—but they also added an extra chance to drop Reins of the Blue Drake to make sure we were giving them a chance.I ve dropped it twice!and the second time i couldn t pass it.-it was on the bag inside with the gems(i pretty much like this-free gems awesome for both jc and alchemy)and cause the bag is soulbound you can t pass it even if u got it once.I ticket this to a gm and he answered:that this is soulbound and can t be traded(critical point:as you know since the LFD feature or a bit more back the items looted from dungeons/raids can be traded within 2 hrs with the ppl you were with).Still couldn t pass it.Guild mates almost killed me-(Blizz make something for this it s not funny anymore(
I think it's a bit generalized to just blanketly accuse everyone who uses LFD as loot-mongering. I HATE PvE, environment = scripts = easy = trash. I never ran PvE at all for any reason. When LFD was introduced I gave it a shot and.. Man, it was so convenient and awesome. I got the patient title in like 2 days. Didn't even need the badges. I think I used the tool to grind some reputation and then grind out the 4 'emote' foods for my cooking.I don't blame people who play to gear up, though. People who 'play for fun' - what's fun about !@#$ gear, dying in pvp, and not being invited to raids, exactly? So people who 'play for fun' MUST get gear. On the flipside, who else plays? People who play to be hardcore/good/etc? Wow, they also require gear!I understand you might jokatively say that people are greedy little @#$%^&s, but there is no point in playing the game and just 'enjoying being in $%^&ty greens' - and many people in these comments are too stupid to see that, so you blew their whole perspective and they'll probably have a chip on their shoulder about people's 'greed' now. Silly.
Would be better if you had to get ''Tier 7 head before you could get tier 8 head and all the way up.. not just go buy full tier 10 as you can now.. or tier 9 for that sake. That way people would sort of be forced to run naxx/Ulduar and so on
