This is easy beyond belief: Devourer of Souls in The Forge of Souls.I hoped against hope that I would get thrown into this instance while queueing for a random dungeon at level 80 just for this boss. It's not necessarily the hardest encounter (by any means), but that voice! I have no idea who the voice actor is, but whenever this encounter starts, I get all sorts of happy. You dare look upon the host of souls? I SHALL DEVOUR YOU WHOLE!You can either encounter this boss in its male or female form. The male form is the one I most look forward to. If you forget, run this in WoW for a handy-dandy reminder... (And to give you an idea of what my boyfriend has to deal with as I do this voice while cooking dinner):/run PlaySoundFile("Sound\\Creature\\DevourerofSouls\\FS_DevourerMale01_Aggro01.wav")Awesome.
Definetly my favorite encounter would have to be ragnaros in the good old vanilla days and i hope they bring him back in full bad ass mode in 4.2also "BY FIRE BE PURGED"
My favorite encounter was in the original deadmines, fighting Smite, it was fun to /yell something that goes along with his famous quotes he yells in a humorous way "Hey Smite you ever try that landlubbers jerky?"Smite: These landlubbers are tougher than i thought"Hey Smite, i heard they are getting rid of you in cataclysm"Smite: "Now your making me angry!"
My favourite encounter has to be the deadmines Glubtok as most people dont know the mechanics it makes the job of healing all that more entertaining it was also the first heroic I healed plus i had never done it at a lower level so it was a enjoyable first experience. Also trying to explain to people how to get the Ready for Raiding ach.

From the point of encounter style I like boss events like chess or opera in Karazhan. From the different point of view I like boss events with emotes such as:HoL - General Bjarngrim "...the flesh is not... STRONGER!"OS - Sartharion "I shall see you burn!" Old Nefarian.. :o)
Well I was doing a run through Zul'Gurub (85) on my healer--without knowing what the fight was, and then along came Bloodlord Mandokir. Here I was thinking "gg another one-shot here we go," and then he decapitates me. o.O I literally jumped out of my seat before realizing that this was a fight mechanic, and being rezzed by a ghost I thought, "perhaps this happens when you are too far from the tank or something" and promptly asked the group to move in. This clearly was false, as next the hunter's head was lopped off shouting "Ding!" ("Gratz mon!"), which admittedly was pretty funny. But to make matters worse Mandokir decides to unleash some obvious aoe , ("pssh I can dodge this easy"), and clearly 10 yards away from it BOOM dead. >.<....oh lovely, a latency test. But no matter I was rezzed only to have my face bitten off by a skeletal raptor. Thinking I'd be rezzed again I waited...and waited...and then realized the spirits were all gone. But there was still a chance! The hunter's pet attempted to tank the last couple percent before he was decapitated once more. Lovely boss fight blizz, nerfbloodlordmandokirasapcauseheoneshotspeopleanditsopkthxbai. But seriously love this guy.
"It is my charge to watch over these eggs. I will see you burn before any harm comes to them!" was the first quote I heard after a many attempts of doing The The Twilight Zone (25 player) with an old guild of mine, but I would not forgot what happened. Killing each drake was relief but the moments when my fellow raiders health dropped below 20%, I could feel the heartbreak from the guild leader with his voice at a level, a level that made us realize that a death would mean fail. This encounter was the first successful hard mode and the many memories that came from downing Sarth 3d were unforgettable.
the safety dance in naax. heigan the unclean(spellcheck). very fun and even watching people wipe was funny. i always played the song when i fought him too.
To me, the boss I like the most is actually the Opera Event in KZ, since it was the first time I learned what progression meant. Having just dinged 70 and entered a small guild, we ran KZ a couple of times since none of us had experience with raiding. And everything up to the Opera Event went rather smoothly, untill we met with Romeo and Juliette, a real PITA =D
My favorite encounter would have to be Vashj because it was the most challenging for my guild at the time and was such a great feeling downing her after like 3 months of trying!
Kael'thas in Tempest Keep at level 70 in appropriate gear was by far my favorite fight, it had complexities as well as unique mechanics. The weapon mechanics made the fight, and the intensity of the fight with the weapon and second adviser phases made it a bit of a test. Then the pyroblast mechanic was the first introduction of a shield that prevents interruption if I'm not mistaken and led to many more fights with similar mechanics (including trash in Blackwing descent).
My favorite raid is The Molten Core, despite going there for 16 weeks straight now (Farming the Eye), I still enjoy seeing Ragnaros being summoned. The fight it's self is something else, I'm a Orc Furry Warrior lv85, I can solo it easy as cake, but the second I hear "Taste the Flames of Sulfuron!" I panic. The fight is easy to win but if you let your guard down it's over.Right now my favorite dungeon boss is Ozruk in The Stonecore, it's a cool fight and I like hearing "Break yourselves upon my body. Feel the strength of the earrrrrth!", that and I like mining bosses.
