I remember it was about 3 years ago and I was playing my first character a rogue. I was questing in Tanaris and I looted a Gut Ripper dagger http://www.wowhead.com/?item=2164. I almost fell out of my chair. It was the first epic I ever got. I remember seeing another one on the auction house for around 300-400g. Never Could I afford a second.

Not an Epic drop but it was a great one for me. I ended up getting on the WoW boat late in the game by the invite a friend promotion Blizz was doing. I have always been a fantasy fan and more importantly a giant dragon fan. I randomly saw a guy one day with one of the Whelpling pets. Searching on Wowhead and other sites i saw that the drop rate on these thing was insane. After some leveling i decided one night to try to get a crimson. Never did i really spend hours in a spot trying to get it...it was mainly " I'm not doing anything....lets try for the whelp". Well one day i was farming a bit and talking to the guild about what i was doing and such. I have my auto loot on and as im talking I randomly see this icon that i hadnt seen before. Didnt really pay attention at the time and killed a few more dragons. Being to the point of having about all my bags full i was looking through them to see if there was anything really usefull. Then I notice that strange icon. I had picked up my whelpling about 5 minutes before and never realized it. It was great knowing I finally got something somewhat rare and a little dragon to follow me around. I still go out occasionally to look for another because im soon to the point of getting my flying mount.
most epic loot so far has been epic flight form and doing the entire chain solo bar one of them and a kind druid flying over saw me and stopped to help. The real epic moment has nothing to do with loot but saving a raid from wiping during ZA, tank stepped out of the circle took a lash that one shotted him, I throw a brez on him top the other tank off and as I finish, the other tank accepts I throw every heal I have at him and we drop the boss. :)
I was on the isle of Q. doing dailis and http://www.wowhead.com/?item=31333 dropped! It was off the first kill on one of the Naga mobs. I was quite shocked that a random purple dropped. And then to see that it has a .1% chance to dropp made me instantly port to the nearest AH to sell it for a significant amount of cash, it sold in less that 15 mins. Since I am a lock I had no need for a leather piece.
Perdition's Blade! Took us 13 kills for one to drop :(
I had been running Kara with the our guild for over a year even though my paladin needed nothing from there except the Mongoose enchant, not even badges at this point. It had become a running joke among the guild members that I would never get it on my paladin. The enchant would drop if I was there on an alt, or if I wasn't there at all it would drop for others. Roughly three weeks before Wrath went live, and every enchanter in the guild had the darn thing, I took my paladin in to heal for some guildies alts. I was half asleep and not even paying attention as I had given up on it at this point. We downed Moroes and I went to ML the loot out and I linked the enchant and said "Enchanters roll on it." Vent was silent, and you could practically hear them waiting for it to click in my head "Oh s***! That's mine suckas!" and they got a good laugh riot at it at that point. But I had my enchant.Yeah...I still hear about it -_-
My most Epic Moment, was way before Burning crusade was announced. I was an upcoming hunter at lv 35, I was still new to the game and Greens were still exciting. I had just made the long and dangerous journey to Feralas so I could train my Alchemy up to 300. As I was exploring behind Feathermoon stronghold I came across a rare spawn that was 7 levels higher than me. I got all exited at the sight of a rare spawn I wanted it's loot. I looked around picked off all the small mobs I could pull away from the area so they wouldn't interfere with the epic battle that was about to take place. As the purpose of my coming here was to train my Alchemy, my bags were still full of all sorts of potions and elixirs, so I proceeded to ingest all the consumables I could stack, took a deep breath and rushed in sending my pet to what was probably his doom. I triggered all the abilities I could muster to make sure she would go down as fast as possible, because after she was done with my little Wolf she would surely turn around and Blast me off Kalimdor. The battle was very satisfying even if it was quite short, so I rushed in to see what great new piece of equipment I was getting even if I probably wont be able to use it for another few levels and dont you know it the drop was .... Plate...
It aint exactly a drop because i was trying to get ravager from SM armory and after 26 herod deaths it hasnt even dropped. then i went there with my priest and it dropped the 1st time! Why i have to be so unlucky? Well my most epic drop was the orb of deception because it was from my first lockbox that i asked to have opned. and it came just on time for epic mount! IT was a real gift if u consider it costs 1000g at AH
i have to say my very best epic drop was the tier 7.5 deathknight chest piece just beacuse since the wotlk exp people have been leveling thier dks like crazy and so when i went to the 25man raid with 6 other dks and the chest piece dropped i thought i had no luck on it was told to roll 4 guys got below 70 another got 80 and the other got 95, im wierd i like to roll last to see what im up against. so i /roll and i got 100 roll on it, i was exstatic, couldnt wait to gem up that bad boy =p
My most EPIC "looting" was yesterday on naxx 10man, we killed first boss in spider quarter and he drops 2x apics, noone for me (im rouge) and loot was group, not master, and first time in my life, i seen so much "pass" nobody clicked greed or need, even they needed it, after that all said to change loot to master and roll for items.it was rly epic FOR ME.
My most epic loot drop was probably when i got my giant sewer rat. I was completely prepared to fish for hours to get it and on first cast there it was 8).
The most epic item i ever got was Glimmering Naaru Sliver from M'uru/Entropius, so nice a trinket who i still in WotLK found great use for, special on Sappharion encount in 10 man.Rember the time we killed him or RL has become so pist that he as punisment, told us we shut stay until he was dead and if we left raid we cued GTFO of the guild.
