Why are people so hung up on these numbers and so "proud" of Blizzard, trying to defend them and all this crap? You guys remind me of a bunch of foaming at the mouth iLunatics lining up for a new iphone. Who gives a crap how well a company is doing, if you like their product buy/use it. If not, move on. This fanboy crap doesn't do anything but hurt WoW's image, the same image you are trying to defend so hard. Let it go. Yes, WoW is the #1 mmo. Yes its a good game. So what, that doesn't mean anything. If you think the fact that wow is #1 in subs automatically makes it the #1 game in the world, do you also believe justin beiber is one of the best musicians the world has ever seen? Do you believe twilight is one of the best movies ever made? Sales and numbers don't mean squat. End of story. At the end of the day when you fanboy out and try to defend every loss in subs blizzard sees and try to convince everyone around you that wow is still the best game under the sun you're really no different then the 12 year old girls saying the same crap about pop singers or crap tween movies.

The more they make PvE easier for kids the more they WILL lose subscribers. Not to mention the fact of awful imbalanced PvP part of WoW.Innovation is ofcourse good thing to have, unless it is been done so often and being more of an evolution.Blizzard should bear in mind that it is in human-nature; if people achieve something easy then there occurs lack of interest and boredom. Plus, they should be finding middle in order to arrange innovations properly in-game by seeing some people are eager to stay with original and some would like to see some changes.
i have been playing for about 6 years since 1.5ish the day before battle grounds were added classic was epic it had an insane amount of stuff to do more quests per level than you could shack a stick at, pleanty of dun crazy true epic stuff to do not these silly artifect weapons to spend 6 months trying to get. epic is fine but dam at least make it possible to get in a decent amount of time and let more than 1 person per guild get it at a time honestly i dont spend 15 a month so i can help a stranger get something cool when i know that the next content will be added before i ever have a chance to get it. . bc was fun but had a little to much grinding to get gear, and grinding sucks. good story good content it was enough to keep a normal guild going thge raids werent uber hard but just hard enough minus sunwell jesus lol. wrath was amazing huge amount of story the phased content was great but everthing has a down side a friend didnt start playing tell a couple weeks after release and becouse of that i couldnt help him out becouse of the phaseing probubly no real way to fix that no big deal. was a little let down that they had to add in a old raid for the first raid it just seams like bad programing and bad creativeness to use same content for new stuff. uldar was and is still the most bad ass raid ever lol its so dam big and at the time that was very cool the colosum was a neat idea and i have no issue with giving the concole croud some gear besouce the hard core still gets the better gear just by doing the better content i would rather give players a nice set of base gear than pug with guys in blues. icc took time a lot of time and maybe it was a little hard at first even my raid guild had issues with some of the bosses and we were a dam good guild so we werent happy at first with the buffs but screw it we got through the content and still had to try arthas 77 times to down him lol. cata number 1 issue not enough content not enough levels 5 is just not enough 5 levels you can bang out in less than a week and i did and for a a good week we didnt have anything to do ever quest done all skills maxxed and there wasnt much else to do needs to be more quests content a lot more wow has about 11,000 quests between 2 factions i should know i have done just about 5k on my ally toon. it needs quests content like ever quest 1,000,000 quests last time i checked and yes there not fun quests and the rewards suck but at least they have them. cata started out fast and easy thge first set of hard dun. were pretty dam hard becouse of healers no having a clue how to keep there mana up so yeah the hards were dam hard the raids were hard i've beat deathwing 20 times and still havent laid a hand on rags or trhe other raid bosses before him cata was just to short a bad flow of content. on the other the lfr is a fun tool and ever body seams happy that they can beat the game maybe a little to much some raiders on my server arnt even doing normal becouse the gear upgrades arnt good enough to spend the time doing it. and last but not least if soe can make 6-7 epacs at 1 time blizzard sure in the hell should be able too eq never ran out of content and when they got close they added 20 new raids and 3000 aa for stuff to do blizzard needs to make real content sure give the kids and the normal players stuff to do thats nice and easy but dam give the hard core true epic quests and i dont just mean another crazy item that takes 9 months to get becouse of the rarity of the dropsso thats my wall of text for the day
I would break cata down into parts, some parts were fine, others not so much.Pre-dungeon: The questing was ok, linear suited some but not others...but every gatherer had to deal with phased nodes that got more and more frustrating as you went along. People used to questing in pairs or groups were slowed or turned off by the "you must stay on all the exact same quests and not do anything solo if you want to group up later" thing. Game felt like they put a bit too much into the low levels and not enough into the new zones for them to hold their own for the life of the xpac. The new guild system really messed with some people, after the first rush to get your guild level up, if you were behind....your guild died. Other guilds hit brick walls in progression, and instead of people switching to other guilds...they often tried to stay in the guild they'd helped level and level rep with...and then they quit because they weren't raiding anymore and that was what they played for...because people were not pugging t11...more later.Dungeon and Heroic: I actually don't think the dungeons and heros were tuned THAT much harder that wotlk ones were at the same point in the expansion...the tension was (imo) due to the pretty major changes to healing and class changes to other roles. New resource models especially made the learning curve a bit longer than most class mechanic changes. The dungeons were also rife with 1-hit mechanics and lag-killers that are frankly not fun.t11 raids: combined with the guild struggles, changed character mechanic struggles, and a steeper gearing path than the last expansion getting started in t11 was rough! I saw so many guilds crumble, not so much because the content was tuned higher but because they weren't expecting it, they weren't ready for wipefests with no reason behind it other than "ghostcrawler says peeps need to l2p". I'm not sure what could have helped, but I would say t11 failed. Small servers started feeling even smaller, lots of people went to Rift or just stopped gaming, and many guilds wound up shells of their former self that couldn't seem to recruit if they'd been lagging behind in the rush to lvl 25.t12 dungeons and raids: Firelands is a nice raid imo, it doesn't have as many 1-hit-kill mechanics and is quite a bit friendlier than the t11 stuff towards people with slower internet. I think t12 could have turned things around if it hadn't been for the zul dungeons. First off, making only 2 dungeons in a "dungeon tier" that give a higher rewards was a bit dumb...making both of them be rehash content was even more dumb, and making 2 dungeons that people had ran before and would need to run over and over again be as tightly tuned and long as those were was just sheer stupidity. I really expect better from blizz and the way the zuls were implemented was a big disappointment for me. I'm not sure what they were thinking, but I'm glad that bit is over, and glad that it was at least possible to get to firelands without being completely forced into the zuls all the time...I'd take the slower path to avoid having to run nothing but troll heroics. The trolls could have been fine if they'd been optional for 353 gear and the bear.t13 dungeons and raids: So far I'm happy. They implemented 3 dungeons, they take alot of their scenery from older content but not all, some bosses are new some are model reuse...the mix of reuse and new really helps to me. The tuning is pretty lenient but that doesn't bother me and the really great thing is you don't HAVE to run the new ones. Once you have any gear you need you can run any cataclysm heroic for your valor. Helps keep dungeon grinding from being so boring :D The only downside is that the "any cata" queue pops you into HoTs a bit too often, but I'm guess that if it didn't wait times would be too long.Dragon Soul is ok. I find some of the fights a bit tedious but overall I like it. I kind of wish that dragon soul mechanics had been used in t11, and some of the t11 mechanics were in ds instead...dragon soul feels like a training raid, like t7 was, rather than like the last raid of the xpac.Raid Finder is pretty awesome for gearing alts (and your main at first for filling in missing bonuses). Its better than just a video for showing new people the fight, so that then you only need to explain what is different. It also performs the function of the first ever "healing dummy". No longer does a new healer have to jump into cutting edge content to learn to heal.Basically, I think Cata didn't fail, but it went backwards as far as difficulty curves , guild changes created recruitment issues, t11 failed to make up for increased frustrations, and Zul dungeons being the valor machine in t12 failed....Cata had issues, but I wouldn't call it a failure.
the problem with the loss of subscription is that all the fongin leetards and elitists are still playing. if all the negative jerks who troll and make fun of people for being new to the game, not having as much game knowledge as them or just doobers in general would unsubscribe, that would be a win for WoW. They don't make more money just cuz someone knows "everything" about the game or is OP or overgeared, they get paid by who PLAYS period.
I think that is the only positive post about them "targeting a younger audience". Which most people can't say they are as it seems Mists is going to focus more on the fighting between the Horde and Alliance, and I doubt many people will say war is a great topic for children.
