WTF... most of these were blantantly obvious, but the one about the dyes was just too far. I've been contemplating going to EQ since they do allow customization, but that post about dyes really started to change my mind! now I think I will make the switch since even a company that is directly involved with blizz wants to take something that they know fans want and use it to play an april fools "joke" knowing damn well its highly believeable

A successful April Fools joke is a little more believable and fits well into the context of the previous week. I don't believe even one single WoW-related April Fools joke was even remotely believable. On the other hand, my wife pranked everyone on her Facebook friends by telling them I got arrested in relation to a (bogus) civil protection order and a custody battle we're currently waging. So many people got owned...
Yeah fooling about the dyes was not cool :\
Good job :) I used to have to do this too- my friends knew I was REALLY into April Fool's, so I would have to set up a decoy joke, and then sneak in the real joke. Well played.
Wait, you mean I don't get to leap through time and space on my Warrior and go 300% faster? Or eat paste and take naps on my Shaman? WTF!I want naps dammit! and a Juice Box!
... I hate all of you. Very, very dearly for this...
The only one that had me curious was the Felicia Day/dyes one, that one is a shame. If the Red Shirt Guy can get an NPC, Felicia surely should! Oh did you guys see Big Bang Theory's episode Thursday about WoW? I want a battle ostrich!
Next year say Blizzard will implement player housing.
Unfortunately, I probably won't forget Crabby any time soon. That yammering bisque will most likely be stuck in my memory for altogether too long.*shudder*That said: if it hadn't been for the date, the armor dyes would have probably garnered a snarky comment from me about who was copying whom. The forum credibility thing made me say, "Hey, that's actually a good ide...oh, wait." Rifthead I could take or leave. And in regards to pranks: can't forget Petopia. In case anyone missed, they said that worgen and tauren would be tamable as "dogs." (Among other things. The part about basilisks was downright cruel.)
I notice that The Guild's facebook post thanks Blizzard rather than Wowhead. What a bunch of wagglemaggers.
next years prank, homes in wow! buy a home in any major city, decorate it with herbs, skins, and "trophys" achieve pnts will now also give trophys for the homes.......YES.p.s. the dye joke was tough to take but once i saw that the dyes were like 500g ea i was like eff that anyway. xD
The only thing I was bothered by was Crabby. Not that the idea was bad, but the implementation was such that it wasn't a joke so much as an irritating impediment to using the WoW forums. I couldn't navigate through my characters (past those that already showed in the drop-down list) and his constant whistling and popping up new word-balloons that obscured the screen just got to be too much. Yes, I know he was supposed to be a parody of "Clippy", but once that point was made, it was just a pain in the neck.Worse, it gave forum trolls a chance to condescendingly tell you how bad you were if you were bothered by it, since they supposedly weren't (the most sophomoric weapon in the troll's arsenal-- the fact that you "don't care" about something has absolutely no bearing on whether I should or not). So Blizz's "joke" was not only irritating, it actually promoted the forum trolling that Blizz has supposedly been so intent on quelling. As did their deleting threads that were critical of it.Had they simply provided a way to toggle him on/off (as "Clippy" had) everything would've been fine. Instead I had to AddBlock him.Oh well, I'm sure next year's jokes will be better.
Crabby on battle.net is insanely cute! I want him to always be there and tell me nonsense.
