Buru Strategy - Optional boss in Ahn'Qiraj 20

When you first enter the room you will see 6 eggs lying around the room. WATCH OUT! There are two Flesh Hunters (slimes) you have to run to and kill, but if they get too close to the eggs, they will aggro the boss. One is in the back corner, and one is patrolling the ramp across from the entrance (if you jumped down).

When you are ready to engage, attack an egg. Buru will begin by picking a raid member and running towards him. He starts out slow, so the key is to kite him around. While this is going on, the other players must dps eggs down to about 10-15% and call out for the kiter to bring Buru overtop one of them. When the egg is killed, it explodes and deals anywhere from 3-7% damage to Buru, depending on his location. Dots should be up on Buru to help with DPS, but direct damage to him is not as important as egg damage.

After you kill an egg, a few things happen. If it hit Buru, he will be stunned. After his stun wears off, he chooses a new target who he will chase after. Also, a tiny spawn will come from the egg which can be easily offtanked and killed.

As you kite Buru, just run around the room and try not to let him hit you. Beware of the deep waters in the one corner, which will slow you down greatly. When you are being looked at, no one can pull aggro unless you drive Buru away for a short period of time (Feign Death, Ice Block, Bubble). As time goes on, I do believe that Buru moves faster and faster, so you cannot just kite him forever. Also, he can daze you if he gets too close. Keeping kiters alive is important.

You continue this process of kiting and blowing up eggs until he gets below 27% (the eggs will continue to respawn). At this point, the next egg potentially could bring him below 20%, which is NOT what we want right now. For now, just dps him down to about 21%. When he's ready, blow up an egg to bring him as far below 20% life as you can. At this point he will blow his top and run around berserk.

Simply have everyone get in melee range so he doesn't end up running all around the map. Everyone should be focusing on dps and healing while someone tries to tank Buru. TONS of tiny spawns will begin to come at this point, so have priests and warriors rotate fears to keep them under control. As you fight, Buru applies a DoT to everyone that stacks as time goes on. Eventually, you will be taking poison damage of extreme amounts, so you must kill him quickly in this phase.

After he dies, continue using crowd control on the spawns and take them all down. When all is said and done, you can claim your loot.

A few tips:
--Have a raid leader mark each egg with a symbol so kiters know where to take them. Stay consistant throughout attempts so that players know where the triangle, skull, etc will always be. Binding keys to assign icons is an easy way to do some remarking mid battle.
--Don't rush things. Kiters should always try to stay safe and not take sharp turns to get to the next egg. The more people that die, the harder the second phase is going to be.
--Although kiters should avoid the deep water, it is possible to run around the land on the outside of the deep water. This is a great stalling device, but be sure you can do it without falling in.
--Prepare eggs. If one egg is down to 15% and Buru isn't near it, have some people run off to prepare the next one. Just don't blow up so many eggs that you have tons of spawns to deal with.

Not a bad layout, Pigmonkey. A few things that can help in this fight that wasn't mentioned:

1. Running: Run in a loop around the main body of the room. Druids remember to pop into travel form. Shamans with the talent can pop into Ghost Wolf. Rogues should sprint. Mages should blink. All these will give you that extra second. If you don't have another enchant on your boots you should put minor run speed on them. It's a cheap enchant that serves you well throughout AQ20.

2. Marking the target: This greatly helps the healers in trying to pick up their target quickly so you don't lose anyone while running.

3. Curse of Doom: You want to try and time CoD to go off just about the same time Buru hits 20% so hit him at about 23-25% depending on your DPS. This is in conjunction with the last egg you blow at 21% so you get an added DPS boost going in.

4. 20% = Deep Water: At 20% it's time for everyone to jump in the water. The mess of spawns don't go in the deep water. I tend to believe Blizzard did this for a reason and is not an exploit. It's a gimmicky move like the rest of the fight.

5. Cooldowns: If you're at Buru you shouldn't have to be told. Everybody needs to save their cooldowns for right after 20%. Warriors get your rage bars to full since Execute is "magically" a 20% talent.

Buru the Gorger can be done after Rajaxx is dead, he is an optional boss and not needed to kill the end boss.

Abilities
Eggs - When an egg is destroyed, it deals 100-500 damage to players based on their proximity to the egg. It also damages Buru the Gorger for 45000. A Hive Zara Hatchling will spawn from a broken egg.
Dismember - A stacking bleed effect that does 1248 damage every 2 second. Buru will use this if he catches up to whoever he is targeting.
Speeding up - Buru continually speeds up while chasing a player. He will reset his speed when an egg explodes and hits him. He becomes fast enough to outrun players after about 60 seconds since the last egg hit him.
Thorns - 200 damage thorns aura
Creeping Plague - Creeping Plague is activated when Buru the Gorger has less than 20% life. This debuff hits everyone in the raid. It deals 80 damage per tick and continuously stacks up every 3 ticks. (Thus hitting for 80.80.80.160.160.160.240, etc) When Buru is destroyed, the debuff fades from everyone. The damage and the debuff itself are unresistable and undispellable, even via Iceblock.
Immune to taunt.

Strategy

Synopsis of Fight

Buru cannot be traditionally DPSed, he must instead be kited around to the eggs which are provided in the arena. The Eggs must be destroyed when he is over them which will cause massive damage to Buru. At 20% he will blow his shell off at which point it becomes a more traditional fight, in which fast DPS is essential.

Things to know before the fight

This boss looks like a giant tick... He cannot be tanked during stage 1.

One thing that's extremely useful against this boss is Greater Nature Protection Potions. Pass them out to all raid members and wait for phase 2 before consuming.

This fight requires the raid to be divided into two groups. One to kill the broodlings, and one to kill the eggs.

Make sure everyone in the raid gets a feel for where the deep water starts and ends before the fight begins (you can swim to up to any side of it without drawing the agro of Buru). If someone tries to swim through it while they are bring targetted, there is a good chance Buru will catch up to them. As horde, this can be easily avoided by having a shaman bring plenty of fish oil for this fight. Simply have them cast water walking on whoever is being targetted and kiting becomes very easy.

Phase 1

When the fight begins, Buru will start following a random person. The key here is to pull him near an egg and then destroy it while he's on top of it. Each time an egg is destroyed it will do a lot of damage to Buru (assuming he is on top of it) and an add will spawn. He will also start following someone else. You can tell who he's following by reading your chat. This will continue until he is at 20% at which point he goes into phase 2

Unlimited Mana Tactic: Until burning crusade is released this tactic is only usable by members of the Alliance. During phase 1 when the raid is DPSing down eggs, have a Paladin Judge Wisdom on another egg and keep it up for casters to wand incase they are low on mana. Traditionally once one egg is down, whichever egg had wisdom on it would be the next egg to target. Use raid symbols to tell people which egg to wand or light DPS for mana.

Strategy 1: Always focus on taking two eggs at a time. Also, make sure you have a group taking out the elites that spawn from the eggs. If they build up on you they will more than likely kill your raid.

Strategy 2: I would suggest players to use their Revered-boots from Arathi Basin Battlegrounds for this event. The Boots allow you to run a bit faster than normal. Start running up the ramp while Buru chases you. Try to reach the top, of the ramp, then jump down. Healers need to keep healing the player after they jump down. In the meantime, players need to cause damage to the six eggs of Buru -- but DO NOT destroy them. Once the eggs have 5% hit points, spam on Raid chat "BRING HIM", to alert the runner to bring Buru and make him walk on top of the eggs.

(Edit: Buru often evades when jumping down from off the hill, I really wouldnt recomend this tactic as he gained full health twice from doing this.)

Strategy 3: When the raid is ready to begin everyone should start damaging the egg closest to the raid. Get the egg to 5% and wait till Buru is directly over the egg. Then destroy the egg, this will damage him. The most difficult part of phase 1 is coordinating the kiting and the egg bursting. Have the next egg in rotation marked, and previously reduced to 5%, with a dps class standing by to burst it as soon as Buru passes ontop of it. If getting the egg to 0% takes too long, Buru's target will likely be killed while waiting for the burst. If you are an organized guild with a voice protocol system, this is most likely the best choice.

The easiest way to make sure everyone knows which egg is next, is to go round in a counter-clockwise direction. You start on the South egg, then go Southeast, Northeast, North, Northwest, Southwest, South again. Do this, with each egg hitting Buru correctly, and you will finish up with the South egg being the one that starts Phase 2. Then you can fight on the land, and everyone will know to be there.

Strategy 4: An emote will say "...and put his eyes on X", and he will chase down that person (X). The person being chased needs to kite him around the area by running on land as much as possible and not in the water. Keep kiting him till the raid has the next egg ready to be destroyed. Healers must heal the kiting player during the kiting. When an egg is destroyed a broodling will usually pop out. Again, half the raid should focus on killing the broodlings, until they are dead, then assist in killing the eggs. When one egg is destroyed (again only when Buru is over the egg), the group killing the eggs needs to move to the next egg in a counter-clockwise fashion. This will conitnue till he reaches 20% where his shell will explode off exposing his brains.

For any of the strategies, the priests should come prepared with feathers for levitating. While the watched person kites Buru around the edge of the water, the priests can levitate in the middle of the deep water avoiding the adds and be in range of the kiter with a few steps in any direction.

Phase 2

Phase 2 starts around 20%, Buru will start shaking and his shell will burst off. He now will do a debuff to everyone which does massive damage. You have more or less 30 seconds to kill him or it will be a wipe. At this point, he hits for far less damage (750 to cloth) and lacks the Dismember bleed effect. He also has a standard aggro list (although Phase 2 is an aggro wipe,) however, it is not advisable you try to tank him.

Strategy 1: Before entering phase 2, make sure the boss has about 21% health before breaking the last egg, so the shield will go off at about 15%. The best way to do this is to put damage over time spells on Buru, and then time it. If you have any kind of Nature Protection Potion, now would be the time to use it. Elites will spawn so make sure you keep them feared while you're going all out DPS on Buru. Everyone needs to jump in and just plow on damage after damage. The faster you get him down the easier it is on the raid.

Strategy 2: If you are having trouble downing him during phase 2, put your highest dps'ers in a group with a priest and have the priest spam Prayer of Healing. You can't do this indefinitely, as the poison debuff increases exponentially, but having 4 dps'ers up for 10-20 more seconds can make the difference between wiping and killing Buru. Also, Curse of Doom applied at 25%, about 40 seconds before the start of Phase 2, will help immensely.

Strategy 3: Phase 2, fear the adds, DPS like mad, and healers keep the mages/hunters up.

Strategy 4: In phase 2 he will do a debuff to everyone which does massive damage. All healers must be dpsing as well as much as possible.

Strategy 5: Treat Buru as a Lava Surger. That is, everyone comes into melee range with him. This way, the melee can keep up a consistent dps as he won't run around constantly. The tanks should wear their dps gear during this fight, as there is no tanking involved.

The key to this part of the fight seems to be having your priests spamming Prayer of Healing in your highest dps groups, forgetting about actually tanking Buru and just going all out. Don't forget to Sunder him anyway though - 2250 less armour is a huge difference in dps.

Idiot's Run
This is a strategy used to get to Buru without completeing the Rajaxx event and is named "Idiot's Run" after the Doomhammer guild "Village Idiots".

This strategy consists of a mounted rush through the General's army and straight down the tunnel to Buru, with plate wearers leading the charge.

This should not be attempted without warlocks (for summoning and soul stones) and priests (for ressurecting). Everyone should charge straight through Rajaxx's army with the plate wearers drawing primary aggro. Everyone needs to keep moving in their wake until everyone dies or is inside Buru's chamber.

Someone should stay behind to watch and make sure Rajaxx's army resets.

When it's reset, anyone inside Buru's chamber should pop soulstones, ressurect those around them, and wait. Anyone not in Buru's chamber needs to release and return to the instance, so they can be summoned to Buru.

The obvious pro of this is that the Rajaxx event is avoided, however, the con, is that anyone who has to release, must be summoned.
known Bugs
Bug 1: When caught on the hill at the bottom of his arena, he will bug out. at this point, whoever he is targetting will be teleported to him, unless noone is attacking. He will reset, and start the aggro himself.

Bug 2: He sometimes switches targets without notification. This may cause a raid to wipe. This bug can be "repaired" by dragging him over an egg, and destroying it. He should give out notifications after that.

at 60 my guild was doing this. we were short dps. and to make things worse we had several people who hadnt done the encounter before and some alts. buru got out of control towards the end and the nature damage became overwhelming. he was at 1% with almost the whole raid dead. so i popped the soulstone on my paladin, whipped out my untamed blade and got the killing blow, i then died from the dot but was immortalised as a hero. and thats my favorite wow memory.

Soloed as 80 Blood DK on first attempt, Path of Frost helped a lot. Just kite him round while damaging the eggs and killing adds which only help you to heal yourself via Death Strike ;]

Yeah, Buru is fairly manageable on an Unholy DK with Improved Rune Tap if done correctly. Took me 3 attempts to learn that he's untankable and the eggs slow him down. After that it wasn't too terrible.

As an Unholy DK, set your Ghoul to attack whichever egg you're going to kite him to, then DPS it down as he gets to you. If you're lucky, he may land 1-2 hits for ~500 damage and no dismember on you. Rinse and repeat, pestilence on the eggs to kill the adds, and death strike/rune tap to heal yourself as needed.

If you kite him correctly, dismember should never stack more than 2 times unless you're really unlucky, and the adds don't hit very hard so you can keep yourself alive with rune tap/death strike. At 20%, it becomes a light tank/spank.

Oh, and I used Army of the Dead on that damned slime. It keeled over and died without eating me (hopefully eating one of my 9 ghouls out).

Soloed as a Feral Druid today. Died first try cause i sucked. second wasn't easy but it was safe enough to keep my heart in a regular beat throughout the fight. I used all eggs even the ones close to the slime without killing it. seems they have a really short aggroradius. Feral charge (cat) was used pretty much each CD and i just kited him around hitting any eggs i ran past to lower them all, saved tiger's fury for when i needed to kill eggs with a little more health than the others when Buru was close. as mentioned before after he goes below 20% health you can't fail. also managed to bring down ayamiss after so officially have soloed all bosses in here now. commented on ayamiss under his name for anyone interested.

Rather easy solo as an Unholy DK with Imp Rune Tap.

Just have to be wise about the eggs, and not rush them down too fast, otherwise you'll have to kite him while waiting for them to respawn and eventually he's going to catch up to you and dismember you to bits and pieces.

Easily the hardest fight to solo in AQ20, but still not too difficult.

1 Elemental - 1 Enhancement

So this thread is rather unclear up to this point... so I'm going to help those of you who are confused.

After the Rajaxx event you will come to a T intersection. If you turn left you will head towards Buru the Gorger. The mobs you see should be slimes and insects. You'll clear a short hallway (probably 1 slime and a couple groups of bugs) I accidentally fell into the pit where Buru is at, but it's okay if you do. (I have a habit of accidentally hitting autorun) So if you fall in don't worry. Heal yourself up. There will be a slime at the bottom of the ramp that you need to kill (will cause you big issues if you don't)

You will see eggs on the ground. They only have 20k health, but don't get @#$%y like we did. We thought ''Well why do you have to beat the eggs down if they only have 20k health? They'll die fast" Sure they do! But... you don't want to get hit by the boss more times than necessary.

Mark up your eggs if you're in a group, so that you can call out which eggs are ready to be broken. We got each egg down to about 7k or so. Once the boss started getting too fast to kite we'd drag him over on top of an egg and kill the egg. He will get a new target (or refocus on you if you're soloing). Just keep kiting him, beating down eggs as you go. Once he gets too fast just pop an egg on him. (The eggs do a considerable amount of damage to him)

As for the mobs that come out of the eggs, they don't hit for much but they *are* rather annoying. (especially once you have several of them running around) In our group, whoever wasn't kiting him around at the time took care of the adds and then got more eggs ready.

Once he gets to 20% the eggs will dissapear and he becomes a tank and spank at that point. Just whoop him up!

I, a Feral Druid, on my first ever aq 20 run was trying to solo it. Came up to one of these, thinking it was just an ordianry mob.... and died. Came back, went cat, and just burst dps'd it down, before it could kill me. I don't have very good gear, 2 heroes. All of my items that I wore doing this are il200 or below, except my deadly glad ring. Just wanted to let everyone know that it is very much possible, and reliable, to kill these before consume (didn't really have to use beserk either, only tigers fury for the extra 60 energy). 17th/18th may, 09

Soloed him today, Feral/Balance specs. I only went in moonkin to kill the flesh hunters, when they were all dead I switched to my feral dps gear. I had tried this before but with tank gear and it seemed impossible, so after I saw a post on the forum here I went and get my feral dps gear and bought a few gems and enchants to try this fight again.

I managed to make it on the second try and I definitely think the 4 set bonus from gladiators (+15% speed) is a real win here, so you can stay in cat form the whole 1st phase. There will be oh $%^& situations tho : a timed dash is pro, I still had to use lifeblood and had to stop twice for regrowth and yes save your feral charge to jump out when youre swimming. Speccing king of the jungle is a must. Luckily I had enough burst (7.3k AP) to nuke some eggs that had to go down really urgent. Don't allow more than 2 adds on you at the same time during the kiting, mangle/rake/rip (or just rake/rip if u dont have enough time) usually is enough to take 1 out so do it asap.

The 2nd phase I went bear, I also specced protector of the pack for this, I was at 30% hp when it started but Ilotp managed to keep me up comfortly until he was dead. I think I'll be able to do this again, but its not going to be easy.

Soloed without problems as a Warlock today (PvP gear / 25k hp / 2200 sp / 21/50).

Kept summoning circle somewhere in the middle which made it easy to kite him and refresh dots on all the eggs. Cor/CoA/Pet on eggs & adds.. also didn't remember about the stacking dot in the enrage phase, started to tick around 1k dmg / 2 secs at some point so had to drain life a bit.

Only way you will blow it is to get bleed stacked too much.. 1 stack doesn't matter at all but fex. getting 3 stacks will hit you for 15k in 10 secs and getting it back isn't that easy when you need to keep moving all the time and be ready to kill the next egg as the boss gains in speed and is ready to re-apply the dot :)

Soloed as a frost dps DK,had quite decent gear(ICC,toc25 and emblem of frost gear) and it took around 20 minutes. You have to keep the hell away from him since his dismember hurts a lot. Keep killing the eggs. I wouldn't recommend too fast since he starts out slow then keeps speeding up so he will eventually catch you and that hurts. So kill an egg,wait a bit then kill another since that slows him down.

I used the adds for death strike to keep my health up and used summon ghoul+death pact twice. Also was in unholy presence for speed bonus and used path of frost a lot.

At 15 or 20% he'll enrage so just burst him down since he doesn't do dismember anymore.

Managed to solo this guy the other day as a level 80 protection paladin, it turned out to be easier than I had expected.

The gear I used was mostly iLvl232, 245 and 264, all either purchased with emblems or looted within 5-man HC's. Here I've listed them in the comparison tool, along with enchants and gems. Most of them are items I use for regular tanking, but some are for increased damage. The most notable is perhaps the boots with a minor run-speed-enchant, which I specifically put together for boosting my speed when kiting Buru.

Here are the talents I used. It is somewhat a soloing-build I made. I wondered if I needed 2/2 Pursuit of Justice, but the boots turned out to be enough.
<EDIT:> As of the upcoming expansion of Cataclysm, the talent calculators on wowhead and Blizzard's official sites have been reconfigured. Thus, this link no longer redirect to the build I used when I fought Buru the Gorger. There are various calculators which still uses the old talents, but as these will soon be outdated (and already somewhat are, even before Cataclysm), I see no point in listing the build I used anymore.

I began with the egg closest to him, at his right side. Bashing away at it, I broke it just as he came up close to me. Spinning around, I went for the egg behind me. After that I went for the second closest egg on his left side (on this picture it's the egg closest to your screen) and then for the egg which is closest to him from the beginning. Eventually I began running farther around when the eggs were slow on respawning. Most of the time avoiding him, I could mitigate single-charge Dismembers with the Corroded Skeleton Key and Hand of Salvation (with the glyph <EDIT:> This glyph previously, when I used it, reduced all damage on the paladin by 20% if the paladin used Salvation on himself/herself). Even so, I nearly died three times, first time being saved by Ardent Defender, second Lay on Hands and third Divine Shield + Holy Lights (used a Super Mana Potion for getting mana for the heals). Mana was usually not a problem with Divine Plea, but I sometimes had to spin around when running for eggs/kiting Buru to hit his adds in order to refresh its duration.

When his head popped open, revealing his brain, the fight was already won. His Creeping Plague (and melee) can be out-healed with Seal of Light and Judgement of Light (I also swapped to Rimefang's Claw with Lifeward), and the remaining adds were killed with Hammer of the Righteous, Consecration and Retribution Aura.

These are the buffs and items I used on myself:
- Fish Feast (+80 Attack Power, 46 Spell Power and 40 Stamina)
- Scroll of Strength VIII (+30 strength)
- Elixir of Greater Agility (+25 agility)
- Seal of Vengeance (on eggs)
- Seal of Light (on Buru)
- Retribution Aura
- Righteous Fury (-6% damage taken via talents)
- Greater Blessing of Sanctuary

Other buffs that were nearly permanently active:
- Sacred Shield
- Divine Plea
- Holy Strength (+200 strength, from the Libram proc)

EDIT:
Tried again today, this time it was a lot easier. I didn't crack the second and third egg right away, but damaged them to some 50-75% HP before I ran along to the next. Keeping several eggs at low HP was a good way to stun Buru when I wanted, along with always keeping him on slowest-mode. Suffered hardly any Dismembers, didn't use any Ardent Defender, Lay on Hands or necessary mana potion (tho I used a Major Mana Potion to kill Buru faster at his brain-phase), and swapped out the Fish Feast with a cheaper Dalaran Clam Chowder. Thought, I did use a Runescroll of Fortitude this time.

Buru is now tamable by Beast Mastery hunters in patch 4.0.3a. He is incredibly easy... 10s tame at max range and he shouldn't even touch you.

Adding this for people who are soloing old content for fun:

Eminently soloable as a shadow priest, and probably any ranged class. Get the 2 slimes out of the way since you will want room to kite. Frontload all of your damage from max range and then start running. Dot an egg as you approach if you have dots. The egg only has 23k hp though, it's quick to die if you are a nuker too. Just time it so the egg explodes when Buru is on top of it (not at all difficult, he runs really slow). The dot never stacked higher than 2 on me (only when I had to stop briefly because I mis-timed my egg dps), and with cataclysm health pools that wasn't a problem at all--I lost no more than 10k hp at any time throughout the fight from my health pool of 124k. I don't know how high you could stack the bleed before it becomes unmanageable, but as ranged it is truly not a concern.

I may not have needed to break any eggs at all, but I did just to ensure a oneshot. It may be possible to just dot him and keep running with current levels of dps and he'd die before getting to "max" speed, but breaking the eggs ensured I was able to stop and cast frequently. The adds that pop out of the eggs have about 15k hp and die quickly to a dot.

I had never done this boss before today, and it's simple to pick up. Really, really easy fight as a ranged (especially compared to Rajaxx). I suspect melee will have a much harder time of it.

As an 85 Holy Paladin, very long fight, just keep killing eggs with Buru on top to hurt him, when u run to the next egg usually the stacking debuff wears off. When he's very low health eggs stop spawning at that point I just used every skill I had to damage him including draining all my mana with exorcism. All fight long I basically only healed myself with Word of Glory.

Solo-tamed as an 82 hunter. Taming Buru is actually pathetically easy due to how slowly he ambles toward you - just get to the 30yd max range and hit Tame Beast.

Once you're past Rajaxx, Buru is yours for the taking.

1. Just engage by killing an egg.
2. DPS him until you get about 5 debuffs
3. kill another egg and kite him until the debuff wears off. Rinse and repeat
4. ?
5. Profit

Note, the debuff will wear off with Divine Shield and most likely Blessing of Protection so kiting could be neglected all together

i saw a tamed Buru pet with his head is off... pure brain dmg , anyone know how can this happen? i tried to tame him after he enrages but after that his image still became normal :/

Ok, if this thing is tameable and i tame it while its skull is broke open, does it stay like this? Would be awesome to have this thing with its brain looking out all the time. =D

Don't be lulled into too safe feeling just because you are level 85 with good gear and he is boss of lvl 60 raid. This was what killed me first, being too confident about the kill.
Anyways, I popped Rej and Lifebloom 3x and opened with Feral Charge + Ravage. Using bleeds might have been more effective but I stacked up 5 combo points and then used Ferocius Bite. I accidentally found out about being able to let the debuff expire mid-fight. I had 112K health and when the fight ended I had around 20K left, 15K after killing the adds.

I did 15k dps as a fury warrior, and my health didn't drop below 75%. I had 6 stacks by the end of the fight but you lose them once the boss dies. I just popped everything (death wish + reck) and stuff died.

took 1 min 38 secs as a 85 lock and felguard, keep up dots and bane of doom, summon infernal, didn't even use metamorphosis and immolation aura, I put a Demonic circle at a convenient distance and started dotting eggs as described above, easy fight indeed.

Didn't know about the eggs when I tried this just now. The bugger had no problem locking onto me as it were and stacked his blood debuff quickly the faster I attacked. If it ticks at 1,250 HP/tick or so then the last time I checked before death I was at well above 11K/dmg every 2 seconds. No healing (Fury Warrior solo I mean) could really have kept up with that at that point I think.

Pretty sure I could solo it now that I read the thread. Will try the eggs method next ;)

Mutliboxing tips:
Protection Paladin - 362
Holy Priest - 348

This fight is a dps race. Even with a healer, its a rush to kill the boss before the dot becomes too much. Put down a lightwell but the dot was stacking far too high for just lightwells heals. Nuked with all offensive cooldowns until the dot was getting to 20k per tick. Greater healed my paladin quite a lot but at ~25% the dot was too much to heal through. Used my macro'd divine shield to clear the dot and instantly remove the bubble in two clicks so as to not shift threat to my priest. With stacks reset, it was a real easy fight.

I went to do the strat the previous Spriest mentioned but couldnt be bothered kiting so stood there and killed him normally

keep your bubble up and focus fire - ignore adds and you're fine

As warlock, just pull out Voidwalker, pop Demon Soul right as the fight starts

Let your voidwalker tank it, and just nuke as hard as possible (when Demon Soul fades out, keep nuking until you almost aggro, Soulshatter, and keep nuking).

85 ilvl359 druid tank. Fun!

Popped Beserk and spammed Mangle until it ran out, then mashed all my other buttons until he died.

Got me to 60k hp (from 130k hp). Took 70 seconds to die.

OK, I was kind of worried about this encounter, so I read the entire thread, and remembered what we used to do back when this was AQ20, etc. etc. 85 hunter, ilvl 392, did the fight in BM spec, with a silithid named Syl (for extra irony). Sent in pet, popped BW, Fervor, and RF, and 24 seconds later Buru died. There was a significant amount of damage on Syl, she was at about 60% after the fight, but I just hit a few heals and then spammed multishot for the adds which all came out after Buru was dead. I am guess this was easy due to the debuff being on Syl? Anyway, any well geared 85 dps class SHOULD be able to solo this, I'd imagine, based on my experience.

Soloed as a 80 enhancement shaman with fully enchanted Cata blues/greens and agility pots/flasks/food. Don't bother with eggs and just nuke him down asap.

As a 90 rogue in cruddy gear (496 Isle of Time junk), I had zero problem soloing him. Just walked right up and stabbed him. Took all of 30 seconds, didn't touch an egg. Very easy.
