Even though they are quite unique and cool, these mobs are pretty retarded to farm for any class that can't pull them directly down or do decent ranged damage. I can think of two classes in particular that will have troubles killing these, and I'm playing one of them.

Pulling them from air might result in getting dazed and falling into 10 other enemy casters. Even when it's successful, they will never land, just hover far above the ground and shoot frostbolts. If you silence them from afar, they usually just fly higher for some reason until the silence is over (from my experience).

The only way I think a rogue or warrior can solo them, is to wait near the Wyrm Reanimators in the area. They will spawn new wyrms and it will be on the ground for 30 seconds or so before taking off forever.

I can confirm they drop the Arcane Resistance Fur Lining pattern. I indeed had to wait for the reanimators to spawn one.

Got it on the 2nd kill. Died shortly thereafter.

The safest way to kill them is to wait for them to spawn near the Wyrm Reanimators and kill them while they are either runing to a Wyrm Reanimator or when they have one in their mouth to avoid killing an extra mob . Pulling too early when they rise out of the ground will make them fly up and start atacking from range .

I have tried pulling the flying ones to a ledge and killing them but 50% of them were landing on slopes were i couldnt loot them . This method is safer for casters because they will take care of an extra mob , and its the only way melee can kill them .

It takes a while waiting for them to respawn from the ice so if you see other people trying to farm them come back later or try keeping close to one of the three spawn points without aggroing the Wyrm Reanimators .

i killed a few of them as a mage for the cloak enchant...

after dieing several time of fall damage, i found a good way to pull them while flying.. i did it a little ... strange.

on the ground i casted slow fall (i got the minor glyph for no feather cost) then fly on top of a flying spawn. up there i dismounted, used living bomb or fire blast, or both. usually the spawn casts frost breath then, counterspell this, so the dragon follows you down. then just fly to the ground and wait for them. but before dismounting, check if your possible landing place is somehow of safe. still very annoying mobs to farm.

if the mob was to high, it just comes down, evades and leaves again to fly up to his former position. sucks... really.

though, i should call myself lucky i'm no warrior or rogue.

(oh and btw.. several kills, no loot yet.. )

Well, I don't know -- I've killed 200 Frostbrood Spawns already, nothing there. So it's definitely not 0.8% drop chance (Pattern: Fur Lining - Arcane Resist). Not even a little sign of a recipe for this: Mighty Arcane Protection Potion. Something stinks here...
And I needed 43 minutes exactly to farm 4 alchemy recipes and 4 leatherworking patterns (frost, fire, nature, shadow) from other mobs!
Still farming tho...

Hi enhancement Shaman here, have been farming for the LWing drop for about 45 minutes now. I've got a 30 yard max range.

The basic strategy for me is simply to body pull the Spawn's as they near a cliff face then LoS them around cliff corners if possible to draw them in. After that just interrupt their casts and they fly lower, and lower, into melee range.

Beyond that, the reanimation points have a handy warning animation to let you know a Spawn is imminent.

Pretty easy as a resto druid. When they pat close to the mountainside, fly right at them in flight form. Then find somewhere on the mountainside to land and do your moonfire/starfire/wrath spamming, get back into flight form and go loot. Took me about 6 kills for the enchanting recipe.

One of these spawned near cultists. That's nothing unusual but that spawned one bugged for me. I couldn't target it at all and escaping didn't work. I ran from Sindragosa's Fall to border of Icecrown and mob didn't "evade" away.

All the Enchant Cloak - Superior Nnnnn resistance recipees seem to have a peculiar drop pattern, watch out if you want to farm them for reselling:

1: They will only drop to enchanters even though they are not BOP and can be sold on AH (for quite good money).
2: They will not drop for you when you have learned the enchant (i have looted +thousand Damned Aphotecaries and Cult Alchemists levelling pets and i got nature and frost resitance in about the first hundred, none after i learned it 1). The same may apply if you have in inventory
3 : Drop rate is about 1% (or chance to drop is 1:100, hope for lady luck but be prepared for the worst).Never tried Frostbrood though, probably better drop rate but worse to grind.

These Dragons aren't hard to kill at 70 all you need to do is get on your flying mount and fly in to them and then go fight them on a mountain be better if you used a ranged weapon to kill them tho
