Now we could tame the flame! It must be the coolest pet in history!

To get it, you have to call a friend for help.

Prepare work: you and your friend should find NPC Muyoh (50.2,40.4), your friend should finish his quests until he gets to "Sowing a Solution", take the quest item "Soothing Seeds".
1. Then you find a nearby Deviate Terrortooth (ability: Tear Armor) or Deviate Plainstrider (ability: reduce attack speed).
2. Tame it.
3. When your taming duration remaining for about 2 seconds, your friend use the quest item "Soothing Seeds" to your target, the deviate animal.
(Suggestion: your friend set you as the focus for better timing)
4. Succeed: the poor animal exploded. Revive the flame. Appreciate it.

Fail:
a) The poor animal exploded. But nothing to revive. Go for another victim and retry the timing.
b) You got a normal animal. It will wander around pretending nothing happened.
c) You got an angry animal.

The special appearance will stay whenever stabled, killed and revived, dismissed and re-summoned, and during dungeons, raids, battlegrounds, BUT not arena matches.

- Tt is said that, there is a very small probability that you get a totally transparent one. If you want a transparent pet, you'ld ask your friend to kill the animal just at the time when your taming ends. (i haven't tried it yet.)

The above is very much true. It takes some rather precise timing, but trial and error works too. Check the screenshots to see the result. So far I've found that all regular abilities work as normal, Bestial Wrath makes it larger, etc. Sending it to attack is probably banned under the geneva convention though. It's creepy watching fire sneak up on some unsuspecting deer then maul it.

Greetings everyone! As stated above on HOW to get this awesome Flame Path for a Pet there are a few things you should know,

1) YOU CAN DIE WITH HIM OUT (The bug does not dissapate)
2) You CANNOT target him, using him in PVP will be an exploit and a bannable offense because you have the advantage. (This includes dueling and Arenas)
3) As any glitched pet Arenas will revert him to his normal self.
I used him in Firelands yesterday and he died, I looked at the corpse and it was still a flame so the flame does not die out when the pet dies.
4) When he follows you around, like any flame path: It leaves a trail behind.

So please guys, don't use him in PVP - It will convince blizzard to hotfix this pet.

It seems as if the fire "raptor" trick is no more. I logged into my hunter today after maintenance and my pet raptor had been reverted into the standard orange-gray spiked raptor he was before exploding.

Farewell, Burns, you will be missed.

Hey,

I PvP'ed with this pet and apart from looking awesome it was not an exploit - People on the same faction as you could not target it, BUT in a dual or in bg's the opposite faction can target it and did so on many occasions and killed the poor thing :(

So no blizz just decided my pet looked too cool!

this, as a pet in patch 4.3 looks awesome. I just love the colours and detail on the scales,also its not exotic! (YAY!)
