Killed him with 3 people in total; a warrior tank, a druid healer (myself), and a BM hunter as dps. Could have easily done it with just a tank and healer, as the damage each elemental lord did was negligible on a ZA/ZG geared tank, but it would have taken much longer to get them down as they had a fairly substantial health pool.

Once we killed this guy, Fah Jarakk, Lord of Smoke spawned on the next ledge into the roost, so it looks like only one elemental lord can be up at a time. Searris, Lord of Embers spawned right after him at the place where you fight Sethria for her questline, and Andrazor, Lord of Cinders spawned right above us the second Searris went down.

Kelbnar did not respawn after we'd killed all the elemental lords, so they are definitely rare spawns even though it doesn't say so on the mob itself. They most likely have a "common" rare spawn timer of 6-24 hours, but I can't confirm this. Despite the fact that they are rare, all every one of them dropped was 2 gray items; one Lava Ruby and a mob-specific gray such as Fire-scorched Claw. Fah Jarakk can be mined, but I didn't notice any of the others having that option. So it looks like these mobs are just for the achievement (The Fiery Lords of Sethria's Roost), for now.

Got him to 40% as a BM hunter using a turtle. He keeps switching aggro, but if you keep your distance your pet can get aggro back fast enough. Only use mend pet and kill command, otherwise you'll get aggro more often. Best to kite him to the north cave first.

Can be very easily soloed by a hunter (or any class with spammable ranged snares) as he is vulnerable to snares. Simply keep your distance to avoid his leaping bite and slowly whittle him down. Be very careful that you don't pull any additional mobs as they will wreck your day.

Killed him this morning while doing the new daily quest, "the protectors of hyjal" was easy with the npcs from the daily helping me. and being offspec shadow.

Rending fang and a lava ruby. both grey quality junk worth 5g 20s 73copper total.

He's simply yellow as well. so if you don't want to tangle with his lousy 2mil health you don't have to.

Kelbnar=كلب نار in Arabic, which means Fire Dog. (above had half of it)

If anyone's having trouble farming these, I would suggest doing it right after the server reset. I ran into all four in less than 10 minutes time and I got the achievement without spending hours upon hours to farm. In case you're after him with more people, group up and tag along; it makes killing things easier, faster, and leaves more time to kill the others, too, before someone gets him before you do.

Kelbnar also means 'Fire Dog' in Maltese, as the language is similar in some ways to the Arabic one. Its not actually a whole word, but 'Kelb' means 'Dog' and 'Nar' means 'Fire' =) Glad to see yet another (possibly unintentional) Maltese reference!

As for hunting it, it is the last spawn for the achievement for us. I am currently waiting for it to spawn, and about 15 minutes have passed since we killed Searris. (Order: Fah Jarrak - Andrazor - Searris - Kelbnar) While waiting for them people might find it useful to complete Have... Have We Met?, as those NPCs spawn while people are fighting in the area. NPC scan also works wonders when going for both achievements.

Unless you have tagged it, or are in a group with the person who tagged it, you will not get credit for killing it on the achievement.

The spawn orders and such that are being listed are not correct in my experience. I was farming Kelbnar tonight and so popping in every hour about ten minutes before the time I first saw him killed. Kept seeing him and just missing getting the tag. Third or fourth time I was waiting, I saw Andrazor fly by overhead. So I went to help kill him, having read these comments, hoping to spawn Kelbnar within the next little while. When Andrazor was about halfway dead, I had a feeling I needed to go back to my camp spot, so I left the fight and started running. Sure enough, Kelb was up. Even if he didn't spawn until Andrazor died (possible, as I was in transit), that shows that the order being suggested probably isn't correct.

Have seen it twice only, both times i was so close to hitting him, but was too far away each time. People doesnt seem to care much about if other players need achievement:(

All of these should be soloable if you're on the daily and interrupt the right abilities.

So long as you pull enough dps, the npcs will tank and heal themselves, but if you get extra, things might get hairy.

after farming these 4 mobs for a while I will have to agree with Firebyrd
not only is spawn order incorrect I have seen searris and kelbnar up at the same time
the same goes for Kelbnar and Fah Jarakk

The spawns on my server are different each weak ,however...
it might be server based

If the NPCs are killed as soon as they spawn, there is a ~15 - 20 minute delay before the next one will spawn, in a sequence. Only one NPC can be present at any time.

If one of the NPCs is not killed immediately, then the timer to the next spawn(s) starts ticking anyway, meaning that the next one, two or three mobs may spawn the moment their predecessor is killed.

Killed all four twice tonight, both times they spawned in the order Searris, Andrazor, Kelbnar, Fah Jarakk.

It's quite possible the spawn order is random on server reset but fixed for a week at a time.

Me and a friend were doing the daily and we assisted a group killing Kelbnar and it counted for us even though we weren't in their party. Just Searis to go :D

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that these mobs are openly lootable? I was doing the Protectors of Hyjal quest, tagged Kelbnar and started wearing him down. Then someone else joined in and when he dropped, they looted him! I know he doesn't drop anything great, just vendor junk, but still... all the mobs in that location are apparently set to a non-group free-for-all looting system. Anyone else know what's up with that?

Finally found this guy and got him down, quite soloable with a I364 blood knight, but by far the hardest of the four, but doable, just takes time... lot's of time, and some skill (yah you heard me).
So bring some dps and make it easy =)

But if you do want to solo, if you find yourself with all your CDs burned, just chain of ice kite him a little.

Keep a snake trap active, he will most certainly target them with his quite hurtful Leaping Bite and #()&¤"¤& one of those snakes up real good!

Kelbnar is standing around the ramp at the south end of the top plateau. He's always in that location and doesn't move.

He behaves pretty much the same as the Corehounds in the Molten Front. He'll engage in melee combat and occasionally cast Leaping Bite at someone. This ability hits for 150% of his normal damage, so it hits very hard. He casts it quite often, so be prepared to regularly heal yourself or your druids.

Aside from that, he also has an enrage and a strength buff, although you probably won't notice these going off nor can you do much against them.

This guy is pretty tough to defeat solo due to his high damage output, so don't hesitate to ask a friend (or a random passerby) for help.

Very easy to kill if you have the daily the npcs that help you kill the mobs will kill this guy no problem you can pretty much kill him before he kills your npcs that help you. Also make sure you watch your threat and if you are a class that can heal then heal the tank NPC it helps alot.

Not sure if this is of any help to anyone, but solo'd him quite easily as an affliction pvp specced warlock today with felhunter. Just made sure to have a demonic circle up to avoid staying in melee range when he switches aggro. Had the quests npc with me, with Fleet Master Seahorn.

Just send the pet(s), and dot him. Used 2 out of 3 soulburns to imp. drain life when I had to tank a little while. Have a healthstone ready, might come in handy if he begins to like you a little too much.

I can confirm that asking a char to invite you into the party once they have tagged him doesn't give you the kill. I found a dwarf who just tagged him, asked for invite and grouped with Kelbnar at about 50% health.. burned him down and no credit.

Kelbnar was the last of the Fiery Lords that I needed for the achievement on my feral druid. I got tired of waiting for him to be up, so I figured I'd just kill whichever one was up and hope that Kelbnar spawns next. I picked up the "Protectors of Hyjal" quest so that I would have the NPCs to help me, ended up with Gidwin Goldbraids (so periodically he would give me a pally buff).

Searris was up, I killed him without any issues. Next, Fah Jarakk spawned - I made sure to leave myself room to move away from the boulders that he throws at you, but other than that, I had no issues with that fight, even though I accidentally pulled a Fiery Behemoth and had to fight them both. Right after I downed him, Andrazor spawned - to me, that's the worst one of the four, the NPCs die too soon into the fight, so all the fireballs are aimed at me. I died at least 4 times (twice because other mobs respawned around me while I was fighting).

So now with the 3 out of 4 down - I figured Kelbnar was next. Nope! Searris spawned again! I almost said "screw it" and left, but figured Searris was easy, so I downed him again. Only after that Kelbnar finally spawned. Some have mentioned that it's a hard fight but it was very easy as a bear druid (my Savage Defense absorbed most of the Leaping Bite damage).

So basically I don't think that these rares spawn in any specific order - you are not even guaranteed to have all four spawn before getting a repeat one. But at least I didn't have to wait at all between spawns, the next one respawned immediately.

I must be really weak or something because after at least 9 attempts i cant seem to get him below 300k hp i tried disc i tried shadow nothing disc got me closer with the 300k attempt but still i see how its "easy" and i must be doing something wrong or they gave him a serious buff ! im adequately geared with 375 ilevel but the tank keeps dying and my heals cant keep him up

I am a Pally tank l 372gs, he raped my druid helpers and me soon after, well past half his strength but plenty to kill me. Guildie helped and got him.

I can confirm that there is no waiting time. One Elite will be present at a time, if the one you need is not there, you just need to kill the one that it is currently present. The next one will be random, there is no such a thing as a rotation. It won't spawn the same one, so it's a 33% chance that you'll get the one you need.

I am a warrior I tried doing it as arms and prot but could not burn him down fast enough. The way I had to do it was to pull a Pyrelord too and use the adds they spawn to allow me to victory rush. The druids died when he was about halfway then I just had to wear him down. My gear level is 374 in tanking gear.

I found this difficult to solo as a Shadow Priest, even with a fairly high item level (with Confessor). His spawns are weird and until you figure out his leaping bite has a pretty short range, it seems impossible.

What I did is when he patrols up the mountain, start casting DoTs. Make sure you're at maximum range, and attempt to stay as far away as possible (Careful not to attract other mobs). He will eventually kill most of your protectors. Your Confessor, if you have her, is very good at keeping herself alive, as bad as she is at keeping the protectors alive.

She will stay back to where you first pulled Kelbnar, and attract his leaping bites if you're far enough away. Channel Mind flay to slow him down, and you'll stay out of Leaping Bite range. He uses it often, so he'll periodically jump to your Argent Confessor. He should do it often enough that you don't get in his Leaping Bite range.

Fade if necessary, and when he starts to go back to the Confessor, do not use mind flay. It'll slow him down and he'll leaping bite to you instead. Refresh your DoTs or use Mind Blast. I also wouldn't recommend using Shadowfiend at this point, as he may pull aggro and keep you in range of Leaping Bite. I didn't need to Fear him at any point, but I've heard he's vulnerable to it. Fear/Disperse if something goes wrong. Your Fade will likely be up at that point.

If you don't have a ranged ally (Like the confessor), this technique might not work so well. Still, keeping out of range of his Leaping Bite is vital.

He was relatively easy to solo once I attacked him at a long range without him bouncing aggro around. Good luck!

Ok, so I saw Faj at 20:20 Server time, then Andrazor at 20:27, then Searris at 20:35, finally Kelbnar at 20:40. Killed them in that order. BTW it helps if you have Chromie in your group b/c of his interrupt/stun ability.

Easily soloed as shadow priest with NPC from Protectors of the Hyjal quest. Even when I had aggro, he didn't do too much damage.

Just to warn you, if you get frustrated waiting for him to spawn. Even though apparently there should be no wait time for next boss to spawn, I did have to wait long time for him.
First killed Fah Jarakk, next Andrazor spawned almost straight away, Searris after him. I engaged Searris at 1:39 pm. Then there was no other boss for like 30 mins. Kelbnar finally spawned at 2:12 pm.

So just don't give up ,and stay in Sethria's Roost a bit longer, and keep flying around checking if anything spawned (targetting macro helps)

Me being from Malta i was surprised at this NPC if it is coincedence or planned.

there definitely is a rotation , still waiting to kill kelbnar after soloing all 3.. he has not spawned, it's been 30 minutes or more, and no other rares have spawned. While you are at it, can you confirm that i am not a millionaire, i would appreciate it..

I am seeing people say you can't share tags with other people on these, but I did with the bird...a troll clearly tapped him before me, and I still got credit . I would assume it's the same for all.

Just figured I would note that, but mostly I wanted to add that these can be force spawned. I killed the fire guy, then the bird, rock and then the moment I flew around the corner after rock boy, this guy was all ready up.

It seems to be all most instant. Hope that helps!

Just wanted to throw in my two cents. Being level 90, it was a snap.
Seems like nobody (at least on my server Stormrage) does dailies there anymore!

SO anyway, I see some people saying there is/there isn't a rotation.
All I needed was Kelbnar for my achievement so I flew around and first saw:

Andrazor (killed him) then Searris spawned immediately (killed him) then up popped was Kelb!

The spawn rates seem quite quick so don't fret if yours isn't up, it will spawn!
