Just tamed on the first day, had to go thought hell for it, alliance attacking any horde hunters (and there was a few) had to get a guildie to come kill her off so I could tame, lucky me I seem to be the only 1 of all 4 trying that knew to take off armor first so alot of dieing happened, even the alliance players trying to kill her to stop us got owned.

you real wanna make sure ALL armor is off, even with 0 points she almost killed me.

Quick Facts

Magria (NPCScan ID: 54319)
non-aggressive spirit beast, shows up as a yellow dot, must be BM to tame.
re skin of Gondria BUT you can see him more clearly than Gondria. He is a very striking blue colour, the pictures don't do him justice. He is quite the looker.
Moves very quickly around the Regrowth killing fire beetles, he will chase after one then slow down to walk again.
On PTR the spawn timer was 6-17hrs and the same applies live, however, he shares a spawner with Anhka and it is random which one will spawn so this can stretch a camp out for days if Anhka keeps spawning in a row.
He is immune to all CC
He has a metal cleaver that increases the player's damage taken based on their armor rating (1 armour point = 1000% damage done.) Simply put if you wear anything with armor on it expect to be one shot. This attack is called Spirit Claw & it looks like a giant spark. Spirit Claw is a melee attack that happens automatically after so many of his basic swipe attacks. Interestingly deterrence does work, however don't get excited if you pop deterrence and you're still alive because you'll still get one shot when it wears off.
Download a wardrobe addon like Outfitter, one click and you can undress and be tame ready. I personally do it naked but each to it's own (just make sure you strip all that armor off!)
He is also in the lower section of Regrowth in Mount Hyjal. I saw him spawn at 35.4,49.7 and he patrolled that area fairly tight. On PTR I have also seen him around coords 37,53 and 31,49. For my server Magria spawns more often at these lower spawn spots, while Anhka spawns up near the portal pine tree more often. Eagle eye is your best friend with the new 4.2 Mount Hyjal rares since you can camp one spot and throw a eye either down or up the regrowth, I personally camp on top of a tree in Ban'thalos section (there are two trees closest to the portal the one you can stand on is the one I stand on (this is not Ban'thalos' normal camp tree) and from there I can cast eagle eye over all Magria and Anhka spawns while being in a spot that will also pick up Ban'thalos's spawn. If you are relying on NPCscan please note that you scanner will not register the rare in the spot you're camping if you're in eagle eye mode, because of that I don't stay in Eagle eye for long I just do a sec spot check every now and then. NPCscan will go off if you cast eagle eye over a rare and see it in that mode, when that happens just mount up, fly over and hopefully you have a new pet. Also don't forget to whisper a hunter that you see camping over Magria/Anhka's spawn spots, they might just be after Anhka so you want to get friendly with them so when/if Magria spawns in a spot they're camping they will alert you.
Magria and Anhka are in the second phase of Mount Hyjal. To check your phase look at your Mount Hyjal map - phase one will have Flaming Wake on it while phase two has the Regrowth area (where Flaming Wake used to be.) Magria and Anhka are only in the Regrowth, not Flaming Wake. A good way to save you time (if you're a young hunter and you know you want this cat) is to complete all Mount Hyjal quests while skipping Vashj'ir while you are leveling. You can always revisit Vashj'ir later.

If you know what you're doing it's a fast tame. Best of luck and enjoy the rush of taming this beauty.

Loved reading all the stories about who else was around, how long you camped, what time it was on your server, how you got your gear off super quick, what you ate for lunch and whatnot, really fascinating info there, but could ya maybe, uh, throw in a couple coordinates while you're at it? And to non-hunters: there's absolutely NO reason whatsoever to kill this mob. Even if you don't see a hunter around, one will probably show up in a minute or two. Just move along and leave this guy for the hunters.

Ive heard it said that you need to be in the right phase. I'm worried I may not be in the correct one. Which phase is it and how many quests do you need to do to get there?
Where I'm at now the regrowth is all charred, but I haven't seen any "flame naga".

Spotted her in the Regrowth and went for the kill; got promptly, deservedly one-shot for a solid 300k damage. Words of the wise: read an NPC's buffs before attacking it.

Edit: If you're going to down-rate this post because I tried to kill her, know that I had the same reaction anyone else is prone to have when stumbling onto a rare spawn for the first time (OMG, it might drop a purple! Get it before anyone else!). Logic and being considerate pretty much go out the window at that point. After Magria rearranged my face, I had a few minutes to calm down and tab over here to find out more. Hence the following....

Afterwards asked in zone and in guild if anyone wanted to tame her. Watched two more people try to kill her while a guild-mate flew over--hilarity ensued. Guild-mate stripped down and tamed her easily. Looks really cool.

For anyone who has tamed this pet! - Ok do you have to have NOTHING on? like no rings trinkets or bow(gun)/mele weapons? Thanks! :)

Edit: Just tamed him! had 0 Armor on but had my bow polearm trinkets + rings on they gave no armor yaaay! :D

Easiest way to get naked in a hurry is to use your equipment manager. Just make a new equipment set, strip down, save it, and you're good to go.

Make a gear set (new WoW outfitter feature in the character section will work)

Set your new gear set to naked - BUT equip your bow/gun to tag him - no armor on bows...he moves quickly enough that he'll quickly be out of taming range if you don't land close enough...which on a high-pop competitive server, might turn out to work against you

I parked myself at 28,52, after 10 mins (because after camping aeonaxx for 2 months, I'm less obsessive and less patient - and low and behold he spawned during the 5 mins I was gone. Patted around looking for him but he was already gone.

HOWEVER - after a quick BWL, 6 hours later approx,I then flew back to 28,52 again. Went afk for about 10 secs and my npc scan went off so i ran back to my computer. Ankha was cached on my scan, however he wasn't within sight..i assumed someone got him, but decided to do a quick pat spamming my target button. I targeted him - however - closer to his 40,57 location..I flew down gear off and tamed np.

This means that npc scan most likely picks up Ankha and Magria from long distances. If my npc scan served me correctly (wasn't there when npc scan went off so don't know how close he was when he spawned)...then u can camp 1 spot and npc scan should still pick it up...no need to pat like an idiot for hours.

I very much prefer Ankha / Magria over Gondria, not only due to their more striking appearances, but they SOUND like spirit beasts - ferocious and mystical..like Loque. I'm glad they put some sound work into the new spirit beasts again.

Ok...Listen....you have to do all the quests in Hyjal leading up to the dailies there for the "Regrowth" area to unlock.If you still see "Flaming wake" on our map then you are in the wrong phase and you will not be able to see the 2 cats.I stopped doing the quests there once i hit 83 so went to the message board when patch came out and i got a quest that said i had to assist Aessina,Avianna and Tortolla but no quests were there so i went back to every place that had quests and finally found the ones where i left off.Did those and the dailies opened up as well as the "Regrowth' area.That is what you all have to do.

You have to have unlocked the Sanctuary of Malorne daily quests to be able to see Ankha/Magria in the regrowth.
(This quest does it Aessina's Miracle)

In equipment manager make a "No gear" set that removes all your gear except bow (So you can tag) and drag it to your bars.

- Press "Naked macro"
- Tag it
- Deterrance
- Tame Beast

Tips:
- Magria and Ankha share spawn timer (6-17 hours respawn according to petopia)
- NPCID:
54318 Ankha
54319 Magria
- Tag it fast with arcane shot/CS if others are around (Read the new hotfix about taunt/Distracting shot immunity)
- Reforge all your gear to haste, use haste elixir, potion of speed, haste buff food (I got my tame beast down to 8,x secs)
- Tame Beast Macro (Add berserking if u are troll):

Hey All

I tamed Magria at 9.50 am on Turalyon server EU, in between the 2 points he seems to walk from one to the other from what i saw.

It was really silly because i panicked and for some reason called my other pet lol and attacked him haha. So i feigned death and started again ressed my pet and dismissed him again luckily i was already running around with no armour on camping for him so i tamed him before any hunters got there.

And a hunter that was to late congratulated me on my tame but its all because our server are pretty good and say if a rare is up for hunters to know :D

I love it but now for names.

I tamed Magria on Lothar-US this morning, at 7:20AM. I logged on at the traditional spawn point (just down the ramp from the portal to the FL, i.e. just north of the portal) and NPCScan alarmed. I had to move east along the northern ridge to find it, but it was not far. Magria DOES move pretty quickly, so I got ahead and went up a bit on the ridge, between two other mobs, and tamed without issue. I wore my neck, weapons, and rings, along with shirt and tabard. I took almost no damage. One more spirit beast to go!
One other thing of note: I believe (no empirical data) that there'd been a tame of Ban'Thalos within the last hour or so. I got an npcscan alert at 5:45 or so, but it was a hunter, near the temple, and they had banthalos already tamed. It was a recent tame, I believe, due to to the name still being "Spirit Beast." I know, that's no guarantee, just guessing.

tamed magria at 3pm on Kael'thas server, heard ankha was tamed 8hours ago so the 7-13hr spawn time is accurate. wasnt really hard, be naked of course, bring a corehound -> pop lust -> disimiss pet -> rapid fire n start taming!

Hello,this is Solaria(Bloodelf) from Whisperwind and after 5 long...long days & nights I finally got Magria last night at 8:33 pm realm time on July 6th!.I owe a big Thank you to Asukasan for letting me have her since we were both there waiting.I also owe a big Thank you to Sinaria for sticking it out with me and helping me wait for her to spawn.I only saw Magria 3 times in the entire time i was out there.I Saw her for the first time sunday at 5:58 pm,8:20 pm on monday and then 8:33 pm on tuesday when i tamed her and i only saw Ankha once soo either they both have really weird spawn times or we must've missed them.Any way,I'm happy the long wait is over and i wish luck to all the other hunters out there that want her.Thank you.

After some thought,I decided to name her Neela which is the Indian name for Blue :)

I first saw this kitty close up yesterday in heroics while on my Shaman; decided I wanted her. Read up on taming technique, used Equipment Manager to make a "Naked" set, but kept rings/trinkets/ranged/weapon equipped (and equipped the button to my action bar).

Jumped into Hyjal around 11am today, and after about 15 minutes of flying around, she spawned. I hit my "Naked" button, jumped off my mount, and tamed her with no issue. I wish I'd had this much luck finding Loque'nahak.

On a side note: I really wish Spirit Beasts were usable outside of Beast Mastery. I would be willing to forego the special abilities when not in BM spec, just to be able to use this pretty kitty all of the time, in any spec.

I tamed Magria a few days ago and I love him or her. I haven't seen Anhka up yet but I did also get Ban'Thalos the other day.

My Magria tame was kind of funny. I was flying around spamming my targetting macro and suddenly there he was at the furthest west location . I switched to my "Naked " gear set which has my weapons, rings, and trinkets but nothing else and dismissed my pet. I kept getting interrupted by the trash mobs in the area and was getting very frustrated when somebody asked in chat if any hunters were BM. I said I was and was invited to a group that was clearing the other mobs out. I flew back to where Mag was and started to tame only to have a stupid Worgen Hunter pull him off me and immediately die because he was still wearing armor. (this was before the hotfix they did). I bandaged up and started taming again only to have the Worgen do the same thing again and die again. I then proceeded to successfully complete the tame while he was dead. He comes back , now finally armorless, and demands 1000 gold from me for "stealing his pet". I laughed so he says he's going to report me. I told him good luck with that and he put me on ignore. A few days later I see him at the Molten Front bragging about how he had tamed Skarr and he was lying through his teeth. I told the people in chat that they couldn't believe anything he said even if his tongue was notarized. I don't know if he saw it or not but it got a good laugh.

The stealth mode is bugged. The only way to get it off is to take it off auto-cast and then have the pet attack something.

Well i have just under 31 hours of camping for Magria. I have tamed Ankha, still no Magria. The depressing part is today at 1842 on Maelstrom US i went to help a good friend out for 10-15 minutes, only time i have left my camp spot, i come back and look down there is Magria being tamed by a Blood Elf...needless to say i just watched /grats. And i am now in disappointment... makes me no longer want to camp, i have all spirit beasts except for this one...just frustrating to continually go through this. Good luck to all and happy hunting. hopefully soon i will get my tame tha i have awaited.

Dont give up hope Huntsman.I waited 5 long miserable days/nights and i mean all day and almost all night for her to pop up and i missed her 3 times and i only saw her pop once a day for the last 3 days.Did get ankha though 2 or 3 days before i got her.Just keep waiting.Magria spawned each 3 times right in back of that yellow tree just a little ways down from the bottom of the fire lands hill.God,i hope blizz doesnt come out with anymore rares for a while lol.I'm a tired hunter hehe but i do love them :)

Tamed Magria it was a long day of sitting aroud for almost 12hrs I had friends helping me and with in that 12hrs Ban'thalos spawned twice.People who already had Magria kept messing with me and setting off my NPCScanner and the last time that I went to go clear my cache my friend on vent yelled at me to hurry up it's here it's here, I had trouble logging in the first time because I was so nervous but the second time I got in and to my supprise there he was just walking along the path, I was on my mount till the last minute I started to tame him and yes I was naked....Well long story short I tamed him,named him,and trained him and then I got booted from server...lol.

GL Hunters his looks alone is well worth the effort.

Ahhhh finnnnnally! I ACTUALLY camped for this baby for I'd say 6 hours straight *I've done some quick random camping since getting Ankha 5 days ago*. I am not one for sitting still. I actually had my hubby's account up and was playing with his toon while I was waiting for Magria to show. What's funny is, when s/he finally showed up, it was in the same spot as Ankha! Same thing, be naked... but be aware of mobs around you. I happen to have aggro'd one and died *which when I tried taming Ankha the first time I died, but I wasn't naked then lol* I missed my chance with Skarr cause I got too excited and fell off the cliff >.< Oh well ...next time. So I decided to plant my butt in one spot and my luck turned around. Yay! Good luck everyone! Patience is a virtue!

FUN FACT:

With the recent Hotfix ANY Stats will cause her to one shot you still. So if you see a hunter (Same Faction) taming Mag/Ank and you happen to have a druid with you have the druid cast Mark of the Wild and it will count towards the Armor Buff. My friend did it because a griefer came in and tried to steal Mag from me :P GL :D

Kinda funny, I just got back from an alli spriest killing Ban'thalos on me and being kinda peeved, and decided "Screw it I'll look over for the kitties." Patted once didn't see it, went back up and there he was. A hordie hunter was nice enough to not interrupt, too c: I ALMOST forgot to strip tho hehe.

Very happy with my tame. Maybe it was for the best I couldn't get the bird; I'd rather a kitty anyway c: (Still lame the spriest made it so no one else could get it either tho.)

Tamed Magria on US-Malorne at about 4:05AM server time. She spawned at either the center or eastern edge of her patrol route (I was camping right south of the firelands portal and caught her flying east). Remove armor, quick and easy tame.

From my experience it looks like Magria, Ankha and maybe Banthalos are all on one timer. They are not linked to the other rares in Hyjal as I saw Blazewing flying around on my way back to Org with Mag in the bag.

I've only seen Magria once and Ankha twice but four or five Banthalos spawns. This is either just RNGesus acting up, or evidence that Banthy is unrelated to the cats. Since he doesn't share his spawn would show up more often.

Just tamed this beauty just at the bottom of the hill where the portal is to the firelands. At the yellow tree, been camping for it the last 5 days and spent 8 hours straight at the above location and bam there he spawns and i tame. Azuremyst us realm time 2:28 pm.

I just tamed her on Medivh this morning at 11:44am realm time (10:44am local time). I was just flying over The Regrowth looking for her and low and behold I saw her walking around. I quickly landed, took off all my armor and made sure I wasn't going to aggro anything around me and began to tame her. As luck would have it? I had no problems and now she's mine. I'm very happy about this. I thought for sure I would have to deal with other Hunters or at least other people trying to kill her so I wouldn't get the tame. I lucked out. Most people would brag, I simply call it for what it is, pure luck. Good luck to all of my fellow Hunters out there still trying to tame her! :)

I would like to say, that my fiance tamed Magria at 6:14 server time on Shadow Council and at 9:31 server time I tamed Anka (about 14 hours apart). These kitties seem to share spawn time and spawned in the exact spot every time I spotted them (28.50). We camped them to get them (yes sleep deprived). Good luck hunters.

I was afk when someone in general said Magria spawned. Three other hunters were arguing in general, saying she was untamable because she one shot all three of them and they kept bickering over how to tame her (traps, slowing, kiting, blahblah). I came back from afk, saw the other hunters previous general chat bickering, figured by now they MUST have figured out how to tame her, but went to check anyway, and there she was, not another person in sight. The bad hunters must have given up and left, so I did as it was said here, got naked, and tamed her easily. She's lovely, but really does look too much like Gondria. =(

Wish her model was more unique.

Tamed her around 4pm server on Runetotem. Thanks to a horde shaman whose name I forgot for letting the baddie hunters know she was up, leading to my taming her.

Just got this Beauty today, a guildie was flying around the regrowth and she spawned. Guildie wanted to kill her but i jumped at the chance to add this cat to my collection. I am in love with her.

Remember you have to take all your armor off or she will kill her.

It spawned exactly 17 and a half hours after i had tamed Ankha in the same spot - whether there had been a spawn in between this i can not say.

There were 2 hoard camping her for most of the evening and into the early hours of the morning - so i presume not

One kept kek-ing me and generally being annoying whenever i popped on to see if she was there...

Who is laughing now....:)

Failed first time, forgot to remove belt, got one shotted. Then removed all items from me, and it was mine after few seconds.

Tamed Magria yesterday after being afk while hunters in general chat discussed whether or not she was tamable because they kept getting one shot. I did as was suggested here and removed all armor and tamed her effortlessly, around 1pm on Runetotem. She was running around swatting bugs and she's neutral. I was lucky no one had killed her while I was sitting there afk and those other hunters were arguing.

She looks a lot like Gondria, but she's still pretty.

Just tried taming this a few times totally naked and failed, you need over 70k HP, I'd say even more to be safe.

I ended up wearing everything that doesn't boost armour by a significant ammount, so-

Necklace, Cloak, Melee weapon, Ranged weapon, Rings and Trinkets

From what I can tell, as long as you start the tame from max range, and pop deterrence so a few melee swings are missed, you will be fine.

In total I was hit by 3 Spirit Claws for between 17k &19k, and 5 melee swings for 3k, although 2 missed due to deterrence, and another missed (possibly by deterrence, but was after it faded in the combat log) for 3k each.

I had 72k HP and it finished taming with me almost dead, with 10k hp... so another Spirit Claw would have killed me

Only try and tame this if you have the HP to cushion the blows, I'd recommend 75k+ and a Haste Potion to speed the tame.

I am into Blue...so Magria has been my quest. For...a few weeks have searched but camped occasionally for two weeks. On Kirin Tor, after four times of having first Magria once, then 2x Anhka and one spider "stolen" from me in mid-taming (only once by ally) one of my hunters tamed Ankha finally on Sun. July 10th at 2:30 pm.

My other hunter tamed Anhka that same Sun. night at 11 pm so 8.5 hours later.
Mon morning I went into firelands to do some quests quick was going to run out and check but got sidetracked by a friend only to hear Magria had just been tamed 10 min before around 9:30 am (when I had planned to go check but didn't).
I saw Ankha at 3:30 pm Monday (8 hours later) and told a hunter friend who tamed her.
One of my hunters finally tamed Magria at 11:20 pm Mon. nite July 11th nearly 8 hours later. So that was three spawns in one day.

So even though I wouldn't know if one has spawned when I'm not around, for what I have seen there have been 2-3 spawns a day of ankha and magria. I'm sure I'm not seeing them all. Ankha has apparently spawned more often than Magria.

Tuesday.. today was major maintenance and servers down til like 1 pm server. Its nearly midnight Tues. and I have yet to see either of them.

by the way as many others have said, created a no gear set to equip, dismissed pet and sit on drake. Just feels like that might give my scanner an advantage. But u have to have NO armor points...and unless I am hit by mobs in a populated area, the tame is easy, having tamed 2 ankha's and 1 magria. I choose to leave on my bow and staff and put on a robe with no armor points just...because :). Both of them seem to wander the same path from one end to the other of that area, if given the time to do so.

If u keep a ranged weapon on, it adds no armor and you can at least try to pull the pet back if someone tries to take it.

i tamed magria just down the way from the Firelands portal right behind the yellow tree. coords were 27.9,50.7..on Bladefist the time was about 10-1030pm server time.i sat and waited almost 7 hours for her today. she showed up right beside me. had no armor on what so ever. was an easy tame. i also got ankha in the very same spot the night before. good luck to all the hunters out there...

Tamed on Frostwolf @ 3:55am server time (10:55 NZ time) just behind the molten front portal.... Very quick and easy tame, was on my way to wait for the new dailies to click over and WOOT! had 4-5 hunters turn up just after the tame so was pretty damn happy showing him off when picking up the dailies :)

How ironic..I haven't seen Magria spawn since I posted my comments listing approx spawn times of both spirit cats. Hrmm...wonder if its intentional as in...if people get too cozy with presumed timers...everything changes?

I just want to tame this stunning blue cat on my main char, so I can go do something else and take this slice of heaven with me.

The Green Spider (Kirix) and Red Spider (Skitterflame) were spawned (at same time in the Firelands) about 20 mins before I went to tame Ban'Thalos (in Hyjal)! About 1hr - 2 hrs later one of the Tigers spawn.

Just Tamed Second Tiger after seeing Ban'Thalos an 1hr before! WOW this timer thing really does work! /dances

I've followed this "timer" 2 times already and every time I see them all spawn in that order (both spiders/ then the bird/ then the tigers).

It does not have to be the Green and Red spider spawning at the same time. I was taming the purple one and the crab appeared at the same time. After tame I went to test the theory and sure enough OWL spawned and then tiger. So again as long as TWO rares are up in firelands.. then owl will spawn shortly after and then tiger.

Make an amour set up with ALL your gear removed, its quick and easy and you can put it all back on with a click of a button.
I did this, landed in front of Magria, removed amour and dismissed my pet, then pressed tame and bingo I had him. No drama or stress, i tamed at 10.00pm server time xxx

Update: Tamed Magria today on Maelstrom US/Horde today at 10:44 a.m. at 33.2, 52.8 location server time after 48 1/2 hours camped, 2 tames taken from me from jealous allies who killed me and took tame, 3 tames of Ankha since no one was around and/or wanted to come tame. I actually thought I was destined to not get this pet. I finally did and I am happy to say I now have all Spirit Beasts and have Tamed 10/10 new Molten Front challenge tames. I was notified by a very good Allie friend I met while amidst camping, he goes by the name Sroche, Thanks Again could not have gotten this without you! Well to everyone who is doubting they will get this tame, keep your head up and carry forward, persistence will pay off. Also on a side note, help each other out with tames and info if you can cross faction, in the game of taming we are all hunters and all want to fill our stables with vicious beasts from around Azeroth, litle kindness may just be what gets an Allie/Horde to log over to tell you that a spawn is up to come tame, and offer some back up! Tamed around 1:30AM server time on Wyrmrest Accord. Camped on and off for around 12 hours total, mostly checking back every half hour or so. I saw Ankha spawn about 8 hours prior, and about 20 min before each kitty I saw Ban'thalos spawn. Since I didn't see any screenshots really showcasing the best area to camp (around 28,51 in the Regrowth), I submitted one myself, pending approval.

Am I in the right phase, I can see the regrowth on my map, and I can get to the dailies...but all I see is Charred Flamewakers, I heard that Magria runs around killing beetles...I don't see any beetles around, just flame nagas. Any help?

I've been camping for 21 straight hours by the yellow tree(28'52) and haven't seen either Magria of ankha once. So either the 6hr-17hr respawn time isn't quite right or the rolling restart this morning reset the timer. Wow, not even kidding as I was typing this, Magria spawned and I just tamed. Started camping at 10pm last night and Magria spawned at 7pm today just now. I had my gun equipped so I can tag and that was all. Good luck to those looking to tame.

If you have armor on this one, you'll get oneshotted. Though, you can have Rings, Amulet, Trinkets and weapons (and shirt, tabard) so I suggest having those for abit more Stamina and reforge them to haste for a faster Tame. Then I also suggest getting, before you try to tame it: Elixir of Mighty Speed and Potion of Speed. So first: Keep up Elixir of Mighty Speed. Then, make a macro that is:
/cast Rapid Fire
/use Potion of Speed
(only if youre a troll: /cast Berserking)
/cast Deterrence
/cast Tame Beast
works perfectly, will also help you tame any other new rare pet, no matter wich one. I will leave you some more feedback once I have tamed it. Happy hunting! :)

Oh and also, this one, as ALL other rare bosses over level 60, has a respawn timer of 6-18 hours. Not less, not more. Also, it cannot spawn at the same time as Ankha, but it may spawn at the same time as Ban'thalos. :)

Magria and Ankha spawns at 27.8 50.8, right next to the rock. I camped there, and after a couple of hours it spawned right infornt of me ( Magria ) When i tamed Anhka she had just turned the cornor of its spawn.
Please vote this comment up so other players can have advantage of this information as i did.
All this was experienced on Isbilen, Darkspear EU.

I tamed him on Arygos about 5AM server time. saw him on my shaman, signed out, looked him up on wowhead to find out any tricks, logged my hunter on and went and found him again. Another hunter was trying to tame him but got one shotted. since he was dead, and I wasn't going to let someone else grab him I jumped in and tamed him without any issues following most of the guidelines above. There wasn't anyone but me and the deadguy around so I didn't bother to tag him and I had stripped down before I left stormwind so didn't have to worry about a macro.

Got called an ass for it but I had him and the other guy didn't so he got all butthurt. so bottom line

1. Follow directions above
2. strip down BEFORE you go looking for him, just stay mounted until you are ready to tame him so you don't have to worry about agro from other mobs
3. Find him, tame him and laugh at the unprepared deadguy when he calls you an ass

Tamed Magria on Whisperwind server this morning around 11:41am server time. Sorry I do not have the cords because I was so excited I forgot to look. However, I was flying around the area that has already been noted.
Took all my gear off while I was on my flying mount, landed then tamed. No traps required and I hardly took any damage.

Tamed him Tuesday, 19th of July on Shadowsong, around 0:00 I would say.
Fairly easy tame really, just take all your armor off that has armor, so you dont get oneshotted. Unless they have armor, you dont have to take off rings, trinks, amulet or weapons. But make sure you have ZERO armor.

Just tamed this sweet-looking Spirit Cat.

Easiest thing to do is make a "NAKED" Item set with the Equipment Manager - unequip ALL your gear except Tabard, Shirt and Ranged Weapon.

So when you see Magria pop up on NPC Scan or whatever macro you use, you can quicky switch out all your gear and start taming.

Magria is immune to all forms of CC. Don't waste any time dropping a trap - it'll be resisted.

Just find a safe spot, unequip all your armor gear, shoot Magria once to get her attention and start taming. You'll get hit pretty good during the tame, but I was able to finish without any buffs with about 40% health left.

If you have any armor on during the tame, you will die. PERIOD. Your armor stat on your character sheet has to show ZERO or you will be killed during the tame.

I was lucky to tame him today. I was doing quest in that area then I saw him. Panic (not prepared), start to run after him, because he moved all the time ... fight with other mobs around.
I was prepare to tame him, since I'd creat "no gears/nude", but forget to put off all my gears. Because he move alway, so i'd miss trap him and start to tame him and was attact by him then I died one shot.
Come back and run after him, got off all my gears and tamed him, almost died before got him.

Sorry I didn't post this awhile ago but I tamed Magria at 36.6,54.0 on Saturday around 10 in the morning.

I've been camping her and Anhka for about a week and decided to give up so I could do other things then sit around doing nothing. A day went by and I did a daily that made me get the deer spirits. I ran around chasing red dots until I saw a yellow one, I scrolled over it and saw one word. Magria! I took off all of my armor, tamed the blue ghost kitty and in seconds she was mine.

Named her Scryer because her blue skin reminded me of the rare spawn in Winterspring. She matches with my Spectral tiger... kinda. She and Paranormal (my gondria) look awesome:)

Nelf. Tamed at Caelestrasz on 1:28PM ST at 29.4, 52.2. Just logged-in to hunter I left at spawn-site when Magria walked past me. Immediately took off all armor (via equipment manager) dismissed pet and started to tame. Easy. Hope this helps hunters at my server.

Very easy tame. Had on a haste elixir and the buff form the haste food, and a stam elixir as well. had, maybe just shy of 70k health on me, and an add on me, but I still got the tame quite painlessly. I did pop deterrence though. Dang, Skarr was harder!

then a nasty evil annoying night elf shot at it and managed to take the tame off me and tamed it himself .. running around me showing off and laughing ..so unfair .. so childish :(

Tamed today approx 7:28 PM EST on Tanaris. I used the tip from the comment above and created a naked "Taming" armor set, totally helped. I was flying back from the shrine and passed over her; almost fell off the couch because there weren't any other hunters there and she was standing still. She was also right in front of the yellow tree that keeps getting mentioned, tho I might have gotten lucky and caught her right as she spawned. Landed, got naked and tamed :) She's gorgeous, good luck to everyone out there!

Tamed her yesterday, Korgath, 8:10 pm a short way down from the yellow tree. Wasn't really looking for her and about fell off the chair when I saw her walking around with no other hunters in the area. I wound up easily taming her just using Lifebloom haste from herb. Much easier than when I tamed Ankha when I got killed by a mob, ran like hell to get back, and finally tamed her.

Won a BG on an alt, felt something inside me, switched to my hunter. Nothing was up in Molten Front, so I checked outside. 3 sec after entering Hyjal I see something in General: "Magria is Spawned". 3 more seconds and I see it. Hit my naked-macro, pulls aggro from a flamewaker, move away a bit, FD, get up, hit tame, and then it was mine.

I have a good tame for you guys. I had just got the bear from Grizzly Hills been after him forever and left there and went to Hyjal to start my dailys. Well one of the dailys yesterday was the wolf one so I landed in the flamwalker area to get started when low and behold Ankah goes walking by. Im franticly looking around only ones I see in the area are a alliance pally and shammy. So off comes the gear and away goes the bear and begin tame. Dont hit to hard with no gear so that much is so right. Now for the funny. Said Alliance pally thinks shes gona be cute and throw one of her judgments at my cat. My cat oh no she goes running away from me.....straight to the pally and ONE shots the pally....LOL so begin tame again no time to heal myself about a little less than half life. I am losing health to quick Im going to die and then Im killing that pally again for this. Right as the cat turns blue I die... Im thinking oh no I died where did the cat go she wasnt anywhere around where I could see her. So I realease thinking oh well at least I got my bear today. Well I rez and get my life back and use my whistle to see what pet I want when low and behold the cat is there what I did get the tame woot that cat is mine..... I train her and put my gear back on and that pally is over there doing her dailys watch this... I go over target her and laugh.. over and over..... she makes a rude gester and I turn, cat with me and walk away laughing still with my new pet at my side and you know what I think shes laughing to.

Me as a hunter would be overwhelmed to see this beautiful creature and in fact I did! I was just waiting for Ban'thalos to pop so I figured I could/should try to tame him so me being smart I took off all of my gear and went on my way as I was taming a mage CAME AND KILLED HIM! I was overwhelmed and then after he logged off I will not mention the name because I am not a kind of person who would but anyway to this day I still hunt this beautiful creature all day everyday! I saw him running around at about 8:17 a.m server time and havent been there since depressing. :\ But I thought I would comment on here and good luck hunting all you hunters and good luck!

If you notice the only item they drop is called Crystalline Tear of Loyalty , and the description of that item says "The desire to serve as a loyal companion coalesced into a single priceless crystals" and that is the way of Blizzard to say you shouldn't be killing these spawns but instead hunters should tame them (notice the part of : The desire to serve as a loyal companion = A hunter pet)
So yh if a wasnt the first one to notice this sry then i didnt read trough 137 comments ( or something like that) to know if i am stealing someones post or not, but i reached to this conclusion myself so just wanted to put that out there.

PS: There are 10 rare spawns that came in , in patch 4.2.

Tamed Jubei'Thos 1847 server time. No one else around amazingly enough. Not sure if anyone has mentioned this before, but I saw a post saying there was a hotfix which meant u couldn't wear any gear at all now (all stats = death, not just armor). I can confirm this is NOT the case though... was wearing my trinks/rings/wep like people have said since this pet first came out.

Ankha had spawned at 0526 this morning, so a little over 13 hours on the spawn timer. Everytime I've seen one of these new SBs pop it's been at the yellow tree people have mentioned previously (near 28,52). I've seen 5 spawns here now, so I'd say its a safe bet that you don't need to pat when camping... just sit there and wait :)

Short story: Took off all items that had +armor listed on them, kept things like my weapons/rings/etc. on, popped a haste pot just in case, and it ended up being a very easy tame. Lost less than 10% health and there were no issues.

Long story: Spotted this wonderful cat on an alt so I had to stable a pet, rush from Org down to the area, scout around in hopes nobody got it, and luckily Magria was still there. Not only was I lucky to get there in time but I was surrounded by a number of alliance who I was worried may try to kill the cat or mess with the tame but they let me be and congratulated me afterwards. =)

Tamed on Fenris at around 4:40am.

Because these 3 spirit beasts share an area with a popular daily quest spot they are attacked and a lot of cruel and unfair tactics are used to screw people. 3rd time he has spawned I have been the only one there and began taming and a freak horde has come out of nowhere (probably questing and NPCSCAN went off... the horde attacks so I lose tame... he then proceeds to tame the beast.

I don't know how many times this needs saying but if you have to screw someone who legitimately has been camping a rare to get it yourself your a loser. If you have to cheat at a game to get "classy" stuff then you are lowlife.

And yeah I am crying cause I have lost the tame 3 times... but seriously twice I saw a horde taming Deth'tilac before i got it. I could have waited till he gave up but I helped him tame. If your screwing an opposing faction's tame you are just plain low... especially on a PVE server.

funny story while i was camping Magria i didn't feel like sitting at my computer so i tuned my sounds all the way up and settled in for a long night of modern warfare 2... during a brief intermission between matches i walked back to my computer to see if maybe he spawned further down than i was so i did a sweep of his patrol route and nadda so i figure while i was here id go check and see if Ban'thalos was up low and behold get to his point and there he is just waiting to be tamed at 5:02 am server time on server hydraxis i was the proud new master to a spirit beast bird..... back to Magria's point nadda still so went back to 360 at about 8:45 server i ran to the store and left my wife in charge if he popped to tame him she forgets everything i said soon as i pulled back into my driveway the alarm sounds and there he is but im unloading groceries not even to the house yet i walk in she is panicking luckily i was able to catch him and tamed him exactly to the minute 4 hours after Ban'thalos. morale of story Patience pays off and 360 will keep you sane while you camp... gl to all still trying for them they are well worth the wait

Just tamed this kitty at 1:56pm server time on US Proudmoore. I had NPCScan go off for him about 30min earlier when i was afk. I came back to see the screen red and the "found Magria" icon, i thought i had missed him! I decided to stay and camp anyways in case it was just a pet. I'm glad i did! The tame went off without a hitch...he only got me down to 75% health.

Thought i would share my experience of taming this magnificent creature

I was just going about doing the dailes, and i got a /w from a druid, saying "spirit beast here", so being totally unprepared, i just launched into taming mode, and sure enough, with swipe she cut me in half. So then i went through the "do i trap her", so i duly popped a trap down, and she again attempted a train, but she seemed to completely ignored the trap.
It was then i noticed the amount of damage she was doing (379k was what i got hit for) and after looking it up, found i had to do it naked
However, during this time, another hunter who knew the tactics had tamed her, so i congratulated them, and walked away slightly gutted

This morning, i had my target macro ready, and whilst doing the dailies, looked for her. There she was again.but, alas, a Tauren Hunter was attempting a tame! However, he was in full armour and as i watched, sure enough, with one mighty swipe the Tauren collapsed in a heap!
My Chance - i had my Birthday Suit button at the ready on outfitter, and naked, i ran towards my taget, hit the tame button - and the beast was mine :)

I had made a note of the name of the druid who had put me on her trail, and duly sent them a 250g tip in the post this morning :)

I was really looking forward to taming Magria but i guess this will have to do, I'm just letting you guys know, i know this isn't the right pet to comment on but i figured it might help?

I also forgot to mention where he spawned at.
It was right beside the Yellow tree. (27.4, 51.4)
I suggest if you are going to wait for them to spawn right there would probably be the best spot :)

Tamed on Akama @ approx. 6:15pm server time (8/14/11). I am BM specced.

Today's tame was pure luck. I had been camping and logging my hunter out in Magria's known spawning location and just happened to log in at the right time.

Magria shares the same spawn points as Ankha. They both spawn in The Regrowth area of Mount Hyjal. I have been looking for Magria for the past several days (on and off camping) and missed taming her twice. I have never seen both spawns up at the same time, leading me to believe that either one or the other will be up at any given time (similar to how Skarr and Karkin share spawning points, but one will not spawn if the other is up).

Spawning time seems to be between 6 - 10 hours from what I could tell. When I found Magria, she was on the eastern side of The Regrowth, but was heading in a western direction. They pretty much follow a narrow loop back and forth through this area and walk at slightly slower than running speed (unless they start to chase the occasional Fire Beetle critter... they're cats... what do you expect?). If they are chasing something, you may need to mount up and follow them in order to keep up and avoid mobs. Luckily, they don't go running off for super long distances, so it's not all that horrible. As they travel, they stay maybe 20 - 30 yards in the widest areas from the big mountains that form the northern boundary of The Regrowth area.

The fire portals on either end of The Regrowth (the one that takes you to the Molten Front and the other that is used to kill mobs for dailies) cause there to be high amounts of player traffic throughout the day, so if you spot Magria, you need to unequip gear (easiest thing to do is create a 'Nude' set in your Equipment Manager) and get on the ground *quick* in order to avoid competition or griefers.

The biggest challenge is starting the tame and hoping that no other hostile mobs aggro onto you while you're casting since you have 0 armor. My advice would be to keep your weapons, rings, and trinkets on since these items do not have armor on them (at least, you shouldn't be having armor rings or trinkets on... :P ), but will still provide you stats like stam and agi (you will have between about 40k - 60k hp with just those few items on). This is just in case someone or a mob jumps you... you might be able to survive for a little bit in order to avoid super fast pwnage. If you're able to avoid a death, you may have a 2nd shot at a tame. Otherwise, I highly doubt you will be able to get back to your body in time if another person knows what to do for taming this cat...

People have already said it, but you need to be doing the Molten Front quests in Hyjal to be able to see the spirit beasts in this area. In order to successfully tame Magria, you also need to take off every piece of gear that has armor on it. Taming Magria is identical to taming Ankha. They both have a buff that vastly increases their damage done if you have armor on. So an armored toon will be immediately 1 shot while a naked one will take little to no damage. I used a deter/tame macro for this, but it really isn't even necessary. I think I maybe lost 10% hp by the end of the tame. Magria and Ankha can't be frozen by traps.

This was my final tame for the 10 new Cataclysm tamable mobs (Gotta Catch 'Em All!). :) Please click my user name in order to see my posts about the other rares if you need more information.

spawned round 2:40am the forgotten coast server by the "brown tree" I wanna make a note I had done a heroic between camping and when I rushed in hitting my equipment manager no remove my gear, I found myself raped by this beauty, why you ask? because I had filled my bags one item to much and it had not removed any of my armor. luckily I was able to get back delete an item and tame Magria before any other hunter's Id seen camping came upon this beast. so a word of caution

Hey Guys,

Just tamed her on Eonar (US) at 12:15 am (server time) just near 28, 51 in MH. I just tamed Solix a couple hours before, which is another story, but I was on my way to log out for the night and wake up early for trying to tame Ankha. When I ported out of the Molter Front (after the Solix tame) earlier NPC said that Ankha was already cached so I saw were Magria and Ankha share timers and the min was 2 hr apart. As I came out of the Molten Front for the second time (after the my dailies) and was ready to call it a night NPC went off for Magria.

My heart raced, my brain went into crazy mode and had to think for a sec. She did spawn on the same path that Ankha does but I assuming it was in the other direction (right to left). She's a fast one so you do have to watch where you want to start the tame without getting one shotted by the flame watchers (or whatever they were called). I already had a nekkid spot in my equipment manager, which I almost forgot to switch to and did switch. The one thing I did forget to do was to switch to BM spec. Nervously switch spec and started to run after her just she just went pass me. After two FD's the Flamewatchers, I finally caught up to her at 28, 51 where she was turning around to head the other way. I had just about half life from the flame guys hitting me but I went for it and hit tame with zero amour.

Yep, I can say she hits like a kitten as long as you have no amour on and didn't need to hit Deterrence or shoot her, just hit tame and you'll be one happy hunter. After I taming her a Troll Hunter was quickly searching for her but I already had her and he congratulated me. It was kinda funny seeing a nekkid troll on the Headless Horseman mount.

Wow what a night for taming for me. I normally don't get the chance to tame that many pets in night. Good Luck and Happy Hunting

I cought this beauty this morning on Dark Iron. She was right in front of my face as soon as I logged on. I couldn't have been more lucky. I tamed her about the same time I tamed Ankha the previous morning.

Watch out for surrounding mobs. This little kitty is FAST. If you are not careful (like me) she will walk you straight into the surrounding mobs and they will one shot you as you can't be wearing your armor to tame her.

After I died once due to an elemental attacking me, I rezzed quickly hoping another hunter wouldn't beat me to her. I didn't even bother to get my health back up I just started taming again and it was a success.

Also, whoever suggested the macro for for getting naked was a genious. I made one and stuck it right next to my tame button that way I didn't have to waste time dragging all of my armor into my bags.

Tamed her at 4:38 a.m. on Thunderlord. She spawned by the yellow tree just as I was flying over to leave the area. Died once from mob attacks while I was chasing her, stupidly, with no armor. Don't do this. Don't chase her on the ground. Get naked, and if she runs, get on your mount and follow her until she's in a clear area. She WILL slow down in those areas, and you can dismount and start the tame. I hadn't had time to get my health back up before I started taming her - I was afraid some other hunter would come along and get her before I could - and she got me down pretty low, but I survived. Getting naked was no problem, just clicked the icon from equipment manager, but chasing her on the ground while naked was just dumb. I know better, I was just too excited to think clearly. Be prepared. Take a deep breath and do things in order. I know it's hard when one of these lovelies shows up, but panic can keep you from getting her. Luckily there were no other hunters around and no gankers either.

And she is a beauty. Blizz outdid themselves on this one. I adore Ankha, but I have to say Magria sort of outshines her physically. By the way, even walking she moves pretty fast, so you might want to get ahead of her and wait instead of chasing her (like I did, idiotically, no armor, just running along like a fool trying to catch up....love makes you really stupid. :-P )

Just tamed Magria after 9 hours of solid camping, on Lightbringer EU. She spawned right next to the yellow tree, behind the log at 11:40pm server time. Screenshot uploaded soon :)

Edit: It was a really quick and easy tame, popped deterrence (had no gear on except for bow, polearm, rings & trinkets) and began taming.. Unfortunately there was another hunter camping with me who needed her so I feel kinda bad, but I hope this info helps any other hunters on my server :)

2nd Edit: Just found Magria again on my server, at 7am server time. She was just roaming up and down the path, so I called another hunter who swiftly came and tamed her. Unless she was tamed while I was asleep, it shows a spawn timer of around 7 hours

I was flying towards the Firelands Portal planning on getting my dailys done when the npc scan went off, Magria!
Had no idea, found him, no-one around; proceeded to tame... one hit and i was dead. O.o
Looked him up... Have to take all your armor off.
I played it same and took EVERYTHING off, trinkets, rings, weapons etc etc
When i tamed again his hits were no cause for concern and tamed without any further issue.
Was around 3:30AM server time Dath'Remar 29th August.
I remember the time because i had just tamed Anthriss and Skitterflame in the last half hour :P

I found Magria cople of weeks ago, i whas kinda lucky though i whas qeusting and npc scan went off. So i flew where i saw him/her walking, dismounted then a npc whas attacking me so i had to call out my pet for a quik kill. Then another npc attacked me, luckaly a other hunter whas so kind to help me. So i could disband my pet, and then i started to run for hur. Took my armor quik of ( almost forgot that O.o). Got a lil agro on him/her, hitted my team. And then i had another spirit beast :D. Kinda happy with that one.

This happend on EU Aerie Peak around 21:00-21:20

I tamed Magria at 7:45pm Server Time on the Uther Server.

It was simple:

- Stayed on the ground at 28,51 (coordinates)
- I stayed "naked"...only my 2 weapons were equipped
- He appeared right next to me
- I hit Arcane shot to get his attention
- I hit Deterrance
- I hit Tame
- I took very little damage
- It was over in less than 10 secs
- It was done so quick, I thought he was running off
- When, in fact, he was tamed and already next to me

Just tamed at 1:08 am server time on Gilneas right along the path that she follows, so not sure of the spawn point.

I was questing and wasn't planning on taming when I came across her (I was happy with Skoll, Gondria and Sambas), but a friendly DK whispered me saying she had her tagged if I wanted to tame, so I figured I'd give it a shot, since I hadn't tried one of the challenge tames yet.

Followed the tips on here, stripped naked and it was otherwise and easy tame. I tried a frost trap just in case, but she was immune.

Definitely a nice looking skin. Loving the spectral blue.

Magria -- I got him at 11:55 am on Thaurissan realm. To tame him remove all gear so you have no armor on or he'll one shot you, basically it's the same as Ankha!
Also watch out for other mobs while you are running around nekky =)

Finally tamed my Magria 1:46pm Moonglade EU time 31st August after camping her since the week she came out. Tamed her right by the yellow tree near the Firelands portal (same as when I tamed Ankha).

I tamed her with neck,rings,trinkets,tabard and both weapons on, I also had resurrection sickness but still she didnt manage to get me below 60% hp, I was a little worried she may have killed me but she still hit like a kitten :)

Got Magria today, Sunday, 3 September 2011. She spawned near my main, an Ally lock. Logged over to my Horde Huntress, MizzStress and tamed her. There were about 5 others trying, but they all had their armour on and died quickly and repeatedly. My first Spirit Beast and I'm very happy. A nice pet and a bit of a challenge to get if you don't know to remove your gear. Good luck to all those hoping to tame her!

Found today on Nesingwary 6pm server time. This beauty spawned on top of me, and in my rushed excitement i forgot to take off my armor and she killed me in 3 hits. fortunately when i revived she was still there, i got nakey and tamed her. Had to get all of them :)

Hey hunters! Good luck on this beauty of a pet! Just tamed my last Spirit Beast at 8:19 AM on Stormrage after a lot of stolen attempts, grief kills, and having Ahnka spawn. Funny thing about this tame; I just tamed Kirix and Solix aswell as help another hunter tame both Deth'tilac and Skarr.......all within less than one hour....I have screen shots to prove the time of the tames. I got VERY lucky to have gotten three of the rares that I have been hoping to tame for a long time. so Moral of this little story is HELP YOUR FELLOW HUNTERS! Don't steal or grief kill these pets! It's rude and just plain BS >.< Not to mention you can sell the pet tame. xP

I tamed Magria on Ravenholdt's server at approximately 5 pm est on Sept 2nd. Tamed very easily with no armor and leaving weapons, rings and trinkets equipped. Used concussive shot to pull followed by the macro i made for taming skarr which has deterence and tame beast on it.

Working on trying to get Ankha as well but i haven't seen her spawn at all after a weeks worth of camping and laying in wait for her where i saw Magria spawn. Not giving up on it though as she'll be filling my last slot. :)

Update 9-11-11 0607 am est. NPC scan went off as i came out from doing my molten front dailies for ankha. but despite flying up and down the path of where she is supposed to trek there was no cat :( will try again later today if the rng gods decide to be nice to me lol.

I finally got my own slice of heaven! I just tamed Magria on Area 52, after over a week of near constant camping. The last couple of days were the worst, since I had gotten really aggressive with how long I was online. As soon as an Ankha spawn had happened I would snatch a few hours of sleep and then pop back online to continue my camp. I sat behind the tree as people had recommended, and tamed both Ankha and Magria there.

Waiting as I did, I managed to rehome Ankha 6 times, some to friends who wanted her and a couple to random hunters in the area. I made a lot of new friends as well, comparing notes and spawn timers. If you make connections with other hunters, your tames will go much easier! Plus, I also managed to get a few other new rares as well after chating with people about which pets we were wanting to tame.

From my own personal camp experience, I can say that Ankha does appear to spawn more frequently than Magria. I say 'appear' because I don't think it's a totally proven fact. So, saying that, don't be supprised if it takes you a few spawns before Magria shows up. She will come to you, sooner or later, and your camping will have not been in vain.

I tamed her at 3:45am server time, Area 52. The last known spawn was Ankha at 2:52pm, the previous day, so about 13 hours between each spawn. Each spawn before that was Ankha at exactly 6 hours apart(two spawns).

I hope this data helps everyone, especially those who play on Area 52. My name is Brecc, and I am a blood elf hunter who now has all the spirit beasts, and is a very happy girl! :)

Was nekkid (save for my necklace, trinkets and rings) and I barely received a scratch - no need for freezing trap or deterrence. Spawned on the north side of the gold tree, and began to run around (counter clockwise) to start the trail.

Tamed 20min ago on Earthen Ring. Freaked out a bit because I'd been PvP tagged from defending Orgrimmar, and when my NPC Scan went off for him I saw someone in the area above him. Wasn't sure if it was Alliance or Horde, I was too focused on getting naked and dropping down for the tame. If I was going to get ganked in the attempt so be it, I thought. Relatively easy tame, just strip off all armor. You'll take some damage but not enough to kill you - I didn't bother with adding any haste or deterrence to make it easier. Beautiful cat, I like the skin much better than Gondria's.

Oh and the other player was a blood elf paladin who was just watching Magria roam about until I got there. Congratulated me on the new pet, even. :)

Saw Magria spawn at 7:42 a.m. realm time on Ghostlands server. I already had him tamed, so I announced it several times, but no one was interested. Did a /who Hunter and found someone who wanted him, but he was in the wrong phase. Finally, found a horde who had just landed at the spawn point, and did a /point to direct him over to Magria. Horde started the tame and aggro'd one of the mobs patrolling the area, so I killed the mob for him. (Lauisifer - I hope you enjoy your new pet!) Anyway, the tame happened at 8:02 a.m. realm time - in that time I watched Magria make 3.5 patrols from the spawn point to the end of the path and back again. He really doesn't run that fast. If you attempt a tame somewhere other than the spawn point, just be aware that you will aggro the mobs, and they will kill you since you're not wearing armor.

I camped 28, 51.5 for several days. Ankha showed up three times, and finally Magria (YAY!). The first time Ankha showed up was at 45 mins past the hour, and again at 32 mins after several days later. (needless to say, I was not on continuously).
Magria showed up at 18 mins after the hour.
The respawn time, at least on Sentinels Server was not exactly a set number of hours.
The posters above have the right of it.
Get NPCScan. Be sure you delete the file creaturecache.wdb to set it back to "zero". If you have a mac, search in the App folder for World of Warcraft>Cache>WDB>enUS and delete the folder enUS. (Don't worry it will be recreated.)
TAKE OFF ALL ARMOR. You can leave your weapon to tag Magria, and you can leave your trinkets and neckpiece. Be sure to check your armor rating. If it not zero, Magria will one-shot you! Of course, you need to be a Beast Master Spec to tame her.
Then:
When you hear the sound from NPCScan, drop your book or whatever you were doing, click on the NPC found! alert, and shoot an Arcane Shot (40 yard range). Try to get Magria tagged where she spawns so you don't get ganked by the hostiles in the area. Then Deterrence, and Tame Beast. I had them set as "1", "2", "3" on my keyboard.
That's it. Rather anticlimatic after all that waiting around,but BOY IS SHE BEAUTIFUL!
If Ankha shows, and you don't want her, then /who Hyjal Hunter and announce her for a brother or sister hunter.

This post is for Magria (and Ankha) spawns on UNDERMINE realm (US) in September from the 18th to the 24th.

The last week I have tried to keep track of either one that spawned and I wanted to share the information I have gathered to try and help anyone looking for Mag or Ank and they are organized by date and I will be sure to specify server time.

18th: Ankah - saw at 5:11am server time and was there until at least 5:55am server (left the area and was still up running his/her path)

20th: Ankha - saw at 3:58am server time and was there until at least 4:58am server (again, left the area and was up running along the path)

21st: Ankha - Tamed at 1:25pm server (a fellow hunter saw this, they didn't give many details, only mentioned that Ankha was tamed around this time)

22nd: Magria (finally) - saw at 11:31am server (spawned at 11:30am server) and tamed by a friend

23rd: Ankha - saw at 3:00 am server time on the dot (left the area as soon as the spawn came up because i didn't need him/her so I am not sure how long he/she was up)

24th: Magria (again, finally) - spawned around 6:20am server time and was tamed (by me, finally!) at 6:23am server

Hopefully all of this information helps! Some say they have 5-7 hour spawn timer, others say 10-14 hours, I really have no idea. But hopefully these times help anyone on my realm trying to get after Magria and/or Ankha, although Ankha seems to spawn very often (and possibly more often than Magria?).

I was flying into Molten Front around 10am Sunday morning to begin yet another camp for Skarr. I'm not particularly into the spirit beasts (except Loque...badass of badass pets, IMO) because I don't like the translucent skin. Anyway, my NPC scan goes off for Magria so I figure what the hell.

I begin to take my armor off as fast as I can, chase her down (she moves fast), and use my deterrance/tame beast macro. I didn't use a trap or anything. Then this Alliance warlock comes along and decides to try to kill her getting himself one shot for his troubles. Karma's a ^&*!@, ain't she? I just recast Tame Beast and tamed her with no further problems. I did get myself down to about 30% hp but I was watching my health and the tame cast so I knew I could tame her before I died.

I wish Blizz would have used a bit more imagination instead of making three see through cats and five spiders that are identical except for the colors. The taming challenges for each, esp the spiders, are fun but would it have killed them to add variety to the skins?

But all in all I do have to say that she's pretty cool looking now that I have her. I named her Freyja after the Norse Goddess who rides around in a chariot pulled by two large cats. Happy Hunting!

ETA: I found her in the Western part of her spawning range around 30,51.

I am on Onyxia, and just had the best luck of my life. I soon as I signed into WOW, my NPCscan went off at for Magria, so I quickly undressed and bam! Had my Beautiful new spirit cat :) Then I decided to fly over to the sanctuary of Malorne to see if Ban'thalos happened to be there, and bam! NPCscan went crazy. Luckily a fellow horde priest happened to be there so I sent him a message asking him if he could help and that I would tip him gold. A couple minutes later and I'm the proud owner of two new spirit beasts to add the my collection! Ooops, also to let you know, this was roughly 11:30 am server time. Happy hunting!

PS- yes I may have gotten lucky this time, but don't worry I've put in my fair share of camping hours on other rare pets :P

Tamed Magria yesterday 08-Oct-11 @ 1519 server on Kilrogg. I did camp 27,52 since 0830 sever.

A few things people might want to know:

* Magria spawned behind the the trees to the right of the "Pine tree"
* I had my weapon, ranged, rings and trinkets ON during the tame. I had double Brewfest trinkets for the extra Stam - I just hit max lvl.
* Standing on the mound cloeset to the ramp to the portal to the Molten Front will give you a clear view when one of the cats spawn.

Other than that, everything else was pretty simple. Arcane Shot + Tame, 9.xx ~ seconds later Magria was mine.

Good luck to all of you camping the tigers. IMO, they are totally worth the wait. I have been camping for Ankha since I caught Magria and it its almost 24 hours straight. Hope to see Ankha soon.

On a different note:
Ban'thalos spawned less than 10 minutes after I tamed Magria. I just so happen to be vendoring stuff and I caught a glimpse of something in the corner of my screen. I looked up and there it was! Getting on top of that tall tree seemed like an eternity. Luckily, I was the only hunter there!

A pally shouted he wanted help to kill a rare tiger - my ears pricked up as a) I really wanted a spirit tiger and b) I hate it when people kill rares (especially hunter tameable rares). Logged to my hunter and a friend and I went looking. Found him easily and if I had only read up about removing armor it would not have been so painful. However, eventually, removed everything and hey presto - one tamed really cool pet. I had expected it to be much harder, need to do something special, but nope - simply stand and tame - I presume once you have no armor he does not consider you a threat and just meekly comes to join you. Pick your area to tame him otherwise the mobs round there will kill you.

Caught this blue beauty the night after i caught Ankha. I consider myself very lucky. Like all of the spirit beast in Hyjal, you must be in the final phase for the zone in order for it to appear. Don't give up, you will eventually see this guy, ankha, and banthalos, if you regularly do your hyjal dailies.

After hours and hours of camping, getting killed by alliance and false alarms of other hunters pets with Magria, I FINALLY GOT HER! All I did was stay in one spot with my scanner on and I flew over 30.9, 54 and she spawned in the regrowth 31.4, 50.4 at 5:43pm server time on bleeding hollow. I already had my gear off so I just dismounted and tamed her and she is now mine! Very easy tame and she did very little damage. All I need is Ankha and I have all the spirit beast! very exciting. This right here is the best advice I've read. You can completely avoid this whole tree-aim problem.

1. Find a spot on very top of the statue's head
2. Place your freezing trap
3. Mount up and fly straight up from the head
4. Turn only your camera to watch Ban'thalos' route
5. When he's in range of your attacks, dismount in mid air
6. Tag him
7. Hit deterrence the moment you land on the statue
8. He'll be trapped now, time to tame!

Edit to add a couple notes: Be prepared to scatter shot if he starts to cast his moonfire-y ability.
If you're unable to get him following this method after a couple of attempts (depending on how many people are around), you might want to try the falling-disengaging method to avoid too much fall damage.

Just tamed her, thanks to all the advice here, because to be honest I hadn't read up about Magria or Ankha for that matter. I was panicked when I found her (lol) so I died. Twice. It hurts. Then quickly searched on Wowhead and there you have it, I have to get naked!
Worked like a charm. Makes me happier given the fact that I have just missed Deth'tilac this morning, arrived maybe 2 minutes too late so I helped the other hunter tame the spider.

I have noticed hunters in world logs hitting over 100k dps on dragon soul bosses due to the spirit claw the cat has going off on bosses can anyone confirm this i have seen world logs with it hitting as high as 550k.

Just tamed. Was a breeze. I equiped my "safe" Winter Veil garb (suitible for taming).... ran after her, aggroed several mobs, hit tame, and managed to finish the tame without getting interrupted even though the mobs were kicking my bottom.

First i let another hunter tame her while today i tamed her myself at 7.30am Saurfang Sever time at around 40,53. NPCScan went off and i took off my gear and began to tame. While taming a few of the mobs around me began to attack but I tamed her just before i died.

Just after taming her i went over to the dailies and there was Ban'thalos but seeing as I had already tamed him and there were no other hunters i left him there hoping someone comes and tames him.

I tamed Magria on Friday evening, 11/16, at 11:23 Earthen Ring server time . He was already out so I don't know where he spawned. I found him at 33, 52.

I wasn't camping for too long. I camped near the portal, by the tree everyone talks about, when I decided to go check to see if Banth was there, and bam! There she was. C: I quickly tamed, and went back to Magria, which by golly, she was there!
I got so excited, and got naked again, and tamed her fast!

I tamed her today on Hyjal server at 11am realm time =) all i did was take off all my gear, switched specs, and hit Tame! she hit me a couple times, only took away a small percent of life and that was it.

I don't have coordinates of where I tamed him, but he was found by an arena partner of mine around the portal thing to "the Hatchery" --where you joust the guys riding those birds in the fire pits ("The Hatchery Must Burn")-- around 2:30-3:00 pm THursday 12/22/11 on Mt. Hyjal zone on the Moon Guard server. An arena partner/guildie of mine called me over and being totally ignorant at first, I tried ice trapping the cat. That didn't work. The cat was immune. So I tried a regular tame/deterrence. I got one shot.

I asked my partner to try sapping him so I could tame him him while he was "dazed," not realizing he was immune to all CC. My partner tried to sap him, then laughed and said, "he's immune". So I tried taming him and deterrence (because it always works right the second time around, right?) and then I got one shot again. I wondered "What the heck is goin on here?" I was in a hurry to tame him before another hunter came along who knew what they were doing. I was also tip toeing around eggshells, trying not to aggro the flamewalkers and stuff running around.

So, testimonial time, I came here to read this page and do some research on the fly...then I found out about my armor rating from the first post on this page. Now that caught my eye. I disrobed everything, rings, necklaces, trinkets, weapons, everything, hit tame/deterrence (didn't bother tagging him since I had no weapon equipped anyway). The cat got me to 50-65% health when deterrence wore off but in the end I tamed him and called him Osborne after the song by Joan Osborne "Let's Just Get Naked."

I just tamed skarr, right on the 1st platform on " the furnace" side. Got him at 8:00 am. ( central time). And he Respawn on the same spot 4 hrs later, so the rumors are now true his respawn time is random. Can be 4hrs to 8hrs.

I have been looking for this pet for what feels like months. I have used Google, and searched on here as best I could and just thought I would ask and hope not to get down voted.

Have verified that I've completed the prerequisite quests (I have the spirit owl tamed) but I just can't believe people are killing or taming this mob faster than I am logging to camp him. The pictures I am seeing however, is what makes me wonder:

It is shown as "The Flamewake" but on my map it is "The Regrowth". Am I out of phase to even be able to see this mob? I swear I have looked like crazy for answers to this and have found nothing to help (I'll be posting this in Ankha's thread also).

Was working on dailies for the Firelands and just completed the last one in order to get the Flameward Hippogryph. Took taxi to the nearest inn to get it out of the mailbox when Silverdragon and NPC scan went NUTS! There it was and I got excited. Luckily by the time I landed and flew back (not too mention 9am on a saturday morning) it was still walking around where the map shows it walking around. I landed in a safe spot, dropped an ice trap, began taming. You know what happened next of course. I died. Came back started tracking it again and came here. Sounds funny that it hits harder when you are wearing armor, but we all know this game has weird stuff going on. Took off anything with an armor rating including necklace, rings and trinkets. All I had on was a shirt and tabard. Landed safely so I would not aggro and hit tame. Knocked me down to 50% or so health. This is by far the easiest rare tame, yet the weirdest. So, tamed at around 9am January 28, 2012 on Grizzly Hills realm. Good Hunting.

Woot just tamed Magria 11:40pm nazgrel! Used equipment manager to get naked lol. Tag her fast she runs quickly and I had to catch up in order to get a shot off. Took my health down about half way! Been looking for a day. One thing I've noticed is between 9pm-12pm you can get allot of rares. I just snagged Karoma last night, Sambas the night before. This was an easy tame so long as you have no armor rating. I also hit Rapid Fire before starting tame. She spawns down the way from the FL portal - no trash mobs there super lucky! I guess the rare pet gods have blessed me! You must be phase 2 (regrowth) to see this pet. Good luck to fellow hunters! :)

I don't normally comment, but after starting this mad hunter craze and taming party... I figured I'd share. After reading through various posts here for these two cats in particular, I've noticed people just keep posting that all you have to do is "Aessina's" quest.

This is not true. You have to have actually opened up the Molten Front Dailies before being able to actually see the rare spawn creatures in this zone. I figured I'd share this information, so people don't think all they have to do is go do Aessina's Miracle quest and have the ability to see these beautiful cats.

** As a note **

Just tested it. My hunter does not have the dailies open for the Molten Front, she could not see Ban'thalos (who is up and flying around untamed). I swapped to my paladin who has completed all the dailies (I'm sure this is not a requirement, just that you have to have the dailies open), she could see Ban'thalos flying around above the sanctuary.

In any case, good luck to all you lucky hunters! May your tames come swiftly.

Here is the secret to finding rare pets and mounts as painless and easily as possible.

1. Get NPC Scan
2. Sit on the spawn point
3. Turn speakers up incredibly loud
4. Go watch tv or make out with girlfriend?
5. BOOOOOAAAAEEEEWWWWOOOOMMM (rare pet spawned)
6. profit?

(Between you and me, the best way to do this is by getting an autoclicker to spam camo overnight as you sit on spawn point and in the middle of the night NPC scan will wake you up when rare pet spawns)

I would have missed this tame if I hadn't bound my armorless set.

Ballybog - when I tamed him I did exactly the same thing. I died several times and eventually he disappeared. I was so fed up, put on my gear and then went to call my pet and ..lo and behold, I had a spirit beast - so I had tamed him just before I died too.

Okays, I made an account just so I can post this information. I have been logged in on the Wyrmrest Accord server for three days now on one of my characters hovering over the main spawn point with NPCscan. These have been Magria's spawn timers:

13th Mar - 8:30pm (Little vague on this one, I was raiding on my other account, I got the tame though!)
14th Mar - 10:30am (Helped out a hunter with their first rare tame!)
15th Mar - 1:45am (Whispered to any hunter online I could find, she now has a Tauren companion)
15th Mar - 4:30pm (Found a Belf and summoned him there for the tame)

Ironically I'm after Ankha but so far havn't been lucky in that department *chuckle* I'll keep updating this as I go along... here is for little to no sleep, weeee!

Funny thing was- I wasn't even looking for this beauty on purpose- I was just doing some quests and found him awhile I was doing one quest- stalked him until he was in a spot without mobs, removed my armor, and tamed him.

Very beautiful in my opinion- and it seems that Magria tends to attack Fire Beetles.

Just tamed it on Steamwheedle Cartel EU, around 9:30 AM server time.

Pretty easy tame, with all of your armor off. Just be careful of other mobs around it, because they can easily kill you without any armor on if you aren't careful.

When I heard of this pet I went balistic. Probably the best pet anyone could get. I was doing dailys and saw it TOOK OFF all my armor and tamed it. I was so estatic. I qued up for a random heroic and already got like 5k DPS increase as BM its an awesome pet and if your going for Beast mastery definetly get this guy HES AWESOME

Just tamed Ankha and can confirm some posts above. Was searching forever have been online 72 hours just searching and i could not understand since its said to be 17 hours spawntime at the most. Well here was my deal. i was in phase 2 but had not done the quests Guardian's of Hyjal. So there are supposed to be elemental in the taming area. If u dont see any mobs in the taming area then u prolly havnt done the Guardian's of Hyjal quests. When i made the quests i returned to the area and "bombidombibom" scan went off right away and Ankha was there. Took off what i though was all my gear, Started the tame, died. Oh no forgot about the cloak...argh... Went back as fast as i could. "oh no" again... horde was killing it. got mad and started to shoot the horde. but he died rly fast and then i realized that he had all armor on and got one shotted. nice! took off cloak and tamed. Went fine lost about 40% health withough deterrence.

So, make sure to do the Guardian's of Hyjal quests and to be in phase 2. Open you map if the taming area is green and u got grass and trees there, u are in phase 2. if the taming are is brown on map and filled with dirt u are in phase 1, the you have to quest some more.

If the area is clean from all kind of mobs then you might have forgot to do Guardian's of Hyjal quests. If the area is fille with mobs then you can prolly stand and wait for it to show up =D GL hunting! what a beauty!

Just tamed Magria after a few days of hitting Hyjal for rare spawns. I had tamed Ban'thalos the other day and I've seen him a few times since. However, I had still not yet seen either of the tigers. This morning I decided to look again. Ban'thalos was (and is) still there, but my NPC scanner went off as I saw Magria a stonethrow away.

Coords of tame: 33.9, 52.2
Realm: Shattered Halls
Time: 9:07AM

Compared to Ban'thalos, this is a very easy tame. After seeing it, I went over to the hill where there are no mobs and took off all of my armor, weapons, and tabard. Then Magria was right below me and I landed at the base of the hill and tamed. Without armor, this baby still only took me down to around half health. Then a few minutes later I saw a hunter on Alliance doing dailies and now I'm just glad that I saw it before he did. Happy hunting!

Is anyone else having a hard time getting this cat...I have re-homed 4 Ankha's, plus another was tamed right before i logged on this morning, and still no sign of Magria...Have also tamed Kirix, and Terrorpene, killed Blazewing and Thurtak the Exiled, and still no Magria...come to think of it, I have yet to see Ban'thalos either, but I already have him so I'm not fussed. She is my only spirit beast left, but she has so far evaded my catching.

Ahh well, I'll be back to camping tomorrow, right now, i need sleep :)

Just to warn others, if your a warlock that tends to use AoE attacks, such as Hand of Gul'dan-or any other race that can perform AoE's, it can make this kitty very angry.

Being Demon spec, I had grouped 3 mobs together for the Perfecting Your Howl quest and by the time Hand of Gul'dan was cast, Magria suddenly ran by me-and getting caught in the effect.

Which made my death more amusing as an Ally hunter was nearby to tame him...

*edit* I do have Npcscan, but it never went off-same with Ankha and Ban' Thalos

I just tamed Magria around 10pm Garona Server time today 4/28/2012.

Been having a lucky streak this week. Tamed about 7 or 8 rare spawns in 1 week. Definitely making up the lost time I spent hunting TLPD.

Magria is a very easy tame if you remove all your armor. I was flying to do Hyjal dailies and NPCscan pops up. I already have Gondria and getting a similar cat was not something I intended. But I ended up doing it anyway. I have only KAroma, Anka, and that spirit beast crab left then I will have a complete set of spirit beasts.

Just Flew over to the portal to molten front and my npc went off. Flew across to spawn point and there she was. Died first time at taming after not reading on here.
Just make sure you remove all your armor and the tame is easy, even with no enhancements.

Its actually really easy.

1. Get naked
2. Put on deterence
3. Tame Beast

For you other classes please leave this mob alone. Its one of the top 5 rarest mobs/pets in the game. Spawn time is like 17h. It drops only 25g value and are not worth it. Plz respect!

Took 3 attempts.. first in Frost spec but I couldn't survive long enough. So I switched to Blood for the second try but ended up aggro-ing several mobs. The Third time I waited 'till the kitty was far away from everything else, swooped in and got my 38th Crystalline Tear of Loyalty ..woot almost up to 2 stacks ^_^

June 6st - Ankha spawned at 8:36am - Tamed by me
June 7th - Neither cat was spawned this day, sadly.
June 8th - Ankha spawned 2:38am and Magria at 10:28pm - Helped an Undead hunter tame Ankha and I later tamed Mag.
June 9th - Magria spawned at 4:49am - Helped a Belf hunter tame her
June 10th - Ankha spawned at 2:56am - Tamed again by me, after she was unknowingly was replaced in my call pet by Magria.

Just tamed Magria on Borean Tundra, server time 6pm. Extremely easy after reading all the advice: stripped down to everything but weapons and jewelry and waited. When he got close enough, I hit 'Tame'.

It's been a good week for me. Yesterday morning I tamed Ban'thalos, about three hours ago I tamed Ghostcrawler and now I have Magria. All I need now to make my collection complete is Ankha!

I must say, it was very liberating camping for Magria naked. I mean, sure a few characters looked at me funny but who cares?

The best looking spectral tiger in my opinion! She share spawns with the other spectral tiger "Ankha". The easiest way to find Magria or Ankha is to set tracking beasts one since they're the only beasts that are neutral. So if you find a yellow dot on your mini map, you've got yourself a new spirit beast ;)

Tamed this blue beauty at 10:15PM on Zangarmarsh sever, such a popular pet so many other hunters flew over from time to time. I camped near the yellow pine tree and he quickly started moving so don't slack off!

This creature moved remarkably fast across the path, and when I was quickly removing my armor he had moved quite a bit. I recommend having a "naked" equipment set where you are wearing nothing but your rings, trinkets, neck and weapons. It was the sole yellow dot amongst red ones, so spotting Magria without npcscan was easy.

According to recount magria did 21445 damage to me not using deterrence or any haste buffs. Doing what I said earlier with taking off all gear with armor but not equipment that don't have armor my health was at 63k making Magria's attacks trivial. Don't worry about the lack of being able to trap Magria.

To make Magria phase in I did all the quest until i got this Calling for Reinforcements(but didn't complete it), doing only Aessina's Miracle will not put elementals in the regrowth and I'm not that sure it's enough. So do it until Matoclaw gives you dailies. Ban'thalos also showed up for me having done the same quests.

Be mindful of the elementals when positioning yourself for the tame, it's not easy being naked if they aggro.

Just tamed her on Kilrogg (US), approximately 4:30 p.m. server time.
I'd been farming ore and doing archeology when she spawned. I'm not one to go all ballistic over these rares, and since I rarely use my BM spec, I put the word out that she was there.

Well, no one showed up.. so I decided to give it a shot. I didn't read up on her first, so I died really fast. Then I saw to take armor off, so I did that and she hit like a kitten and the tame went fine. I didn't even use deterrence.

She's pretty but I have no idea what to name her.

Found at 8:45pm server time on MG. Tamed 3 minutes later.

A mage was trying to kill her and kept getting one-shotted because she didn't know to remove her gear (and neglected to acknowledge it was a hunter-critter). Tamed after she died . :)

Just got this beauty on Wyrmrest Accord not 5 minutes ago. I was lazy and didn't have my "naked" set updated so I still had pants on and died. Ran back furiously and tamed. Just be aware that npcscan can go off anytime when you aren't prepared so BE READY! She is lovely--now what to name her....

These are not hard to find just get a npc scan with a map overlay they spawn every 8 hours i believe i timed a few and its pretty close but it don't take long to tame these pets. I now have Magira, Gondria, Banthios, Skoll, and kirix. The last isn't a spirit beast i know but bottom line don't take long to find these guys i found them all in a span of three days and still had plenty of time for my raiding and pvping the hunting didn't interrupt at all.

I got Ankha there about an hour ago, i seen the comments here saying about the 6-17hour respawn between them so i went to do the firelands dailies before they reset.

After i finished the dailies i went afk for a bit. Got back and went back through the portal, as i went to fly away NPC scan popped up with Magria! Took off my equipment and tamed!

Now before i seen him it did say Daily quests were reset, i don't know if that has anything to do with Magria spawning so fast after Ankha but either way im very happy after weeks of hanging around looking for either 1 of them.

I highly recommend farming for Ankha and Magria if you have not gotten them already.

Im on Area 52. With everyone in a craze for MoP I have successfully gotten both within a day or two of each of each other, AND got Magria for my fiance :) just been popping on and checking before and after questing every couple of hous. The timer is Definitely between 15 and 18 hours. Magria was tamed at 4am yesterday before bed, and then got my fiance Magria at 12 midnight later in the evening, and then today picked up Ankha at 10pm (ten minutes ago).

There was no one around each time. Good luck!

OK, I finally decided to actually camp for some critters today. I made use of the cross realm restarts. I'm located on Cairne server.

So after the restart, which ended around 1:15 EST.
I decided to log back in around 6:45 EST to just be safe and hold my spot. Luckily, I was sitting there when an opposite faction cross server hunter showed up, sat a little while, then decided to hearth. (Appreciated)

While, circling Magria's path, I stumbled into Ban'Thalos. I died quite a few times due to trap misplacement and low health, but finally got 'em. Tamed around 7:30 PM EST, October 11th.. At this point Magria had not shown up yet.

I actually thought I missed Magria due to cross server nonsense.
But, I came back anyway a little over an hour later and flew directly over Magria in about the middle of her walk. Needless to say I dismounted right quick and tamed her. This was at about 8:45 PM EST October 11th, I tamed Magria. Lucky for me too, because all of a sudden there was an influx of cross server hunters, but no, none of them were near her when I tamed.

I was still sticking to the 6-8 hour rule, so I came back (to look for Ankha) at about 1:30 AM EST and sat waiting. Bam! @ 1:45 AM EST October 12th, Ankha was tamed by moi.

Yes, I managed to grab them all in less than 24 hours. This being the first time I ever really camped out for (days) for a hunter mob. But hey! I did my research and it paid off. Of course it helps that everyone is busy with MoP. :)

Woke up today and got on and flew down the patrol route for Magria when i saw the yellow dot thinking it was an ore vein i just flew past it before i noticed it was moving. abandoned my random scorpion i had tagging along with me popped my insta naked gear set and tamed Magria at 9:59 server time on Hyjal.

quick notes..
started camping tuesday, after taming Skarr and Deth'tilac in the wee hours of monday.
tamed ankha at 6:00am+ EST.
ankha spawned again that day at around 11am+ EST.
i went to bed, wouldn't surprise me if miss magria took her turn when i was sleeping.
woke up at 4:46am EST the next day, camped for several minutes and ankha spawned again at 5:07am.
popped onto my mother's hunter and rushed over, seeing Blazewing and Ban'thalos in the process.
tamed ankha again at 5:14am.
logged onto my own hunter, ran over to hopefully see ban'thalos; sadly, he seemed to have disappeared in the mere minutes i was away.

From what I have experienced, the spawn timer on Magria and Ankha is 5-6 hours. I've only seen Ban'thalos once, and it seems that he despawned before I could tame him. :(

To tame one Ankha or Magria, you need too be completely "nude".
The more gear you have on, the harder they hit, so, for say, you're in that fancy heroic gear you got last night, mm?
One hit, dead, on the ground twitching! Isn't that wonderful? Watching somebody with the knowledge of taming one of the trio steal your tame?

Let's not let that happen.

my strategy of taming is
to make an item set of your character naked, or, in their birthday suit.
once you see Ankha or Magria, rush over and hit them with your fists, and pull them into a safe spot. (unless they are already in a safe spot, then you're just wishing for death)
cast tame and enjoy your kitty.

hunter or the hunted?
Ankha has been doing a good job of keeping her sister, Magria away from my hands. Usually I find her after tabbing out at the end of her trail and turning around, or, I find her at the tree (27.63, 51.43). Be sure too have your speakers on high, if you want your addon to alert you of the beast's presence.

what i have done
Tuesday, 5am, tamed Ankha for myself.
went to work
Tuesday, estimated around 5pm, I gave Ankha to a guildie.
Wednesday, 5:14am EST, tamed Ankha for my Mother, missing Ban'thalos in the process(i deserve hugs;3;)
Wednesday, 5:42am EST.. Camping, right now.

moral of the.. post
GO AS EARLY AS YOU CAN
That means, they probably wont be spawned at 7pm, unless somebody killed\tamed them really early before.
Camp, camp as much as you can, tab out, eat some breakfast, watch some videos, listen to music, tab in around 5-6am and look around, scan the path they walk and tab out again.

In the end, it's worth it.

Just tamed Magria on Aggramar. 2:15pm CST. Got lucky and only had to camp for about an hour and a half. Got Ankha last night around midnight too... Sweet.

Edit: Apparently when I tamed Magria, Ankha disappeared from my pet list. Has anyone else had this happen?

Update: Apparently, Ankha is back on the list now. But for a while there I only had four pets showing when Magria should have been number five. Just glad I don't need to decide if I was going to camp Ankha again. She's my second favorite of the three spirit tigers...

In my experience, Magria is a rarer spawn than Ankha. I farmed for three days to get Magria, with the following spawn times:

10pm - Ankha
(I missed a spawn time here)
6:15pm - Ankha
1:39am - Ankha
7:44am- Ankha
2:20pm - Magria

Spawns were 6-8 hours of each other.

Just camp out at the spawn point with no armor on. Easy tame once she actually appeared.

I decided to tame either Ankha or Magria after spending a week trying to get Gondria.

I arrive in hyjal and Magria is there waiting for me. Ugh, but I had all my gear on and did not have a "nude" set up for outfitter. Plus, I had just picked up my christmas presents (unopened) so my bags were nearly full.

Hurriedly I dumped my gear one item at a time, then started deleted full Christmas presents to make room, but they require the typed "delete" confirmation..........

He despawned right in front of me while I was derping around with me gear.

Even more annoying, while flying around looking to make sure he was actually gone and not just stealthed NPC scan hit on Ban'thalos.

Except, I was naked, no slowfall cloak. While trying to get it back on Ban'thalos despawned as well.

Such a fail evening.

Got mine today around 4:30 AM server time (EU-Vek'nilash).

Remember to be in proper PHASE of Hyjal before camping. I've spent around 30 hours hangin in air and reading The Hobbit being in wrong phase. You have to do many quests before The Flamewake will become The Regrowth. When you see groups of guys channeling fireballs under you - you're in good one. They appeared when I finished quests leading to Molten Front. 3h later I tamed my pet :)

Ok. If someone help me please at this moment i will be greatfull because all i see from these comments confused me even more. 2 days ago i complete nearly all quests in Hyjal and only dailies left. My Molten Front dailies also open and the portal ofc even i tamed Banth'alos , Skarr and Kirix same day. Now i camping for Magria or Ankha at '' The Regrowth ''.

When i camped yesterday suddenly i saw banthalos and warned all hunters from general chat however only 1 whispered me and asked for helped. When i was trying to help him NPC scan alerted Ankha and after 3 sec alert again for Magria . I told him i need to go and i wasnt so far and there was no hunter around im sure. Anyway when i went there i see nothing. .. It may be a false alert or someone tamed it very fast but for me that was odd what NPC scan did.

After 6hours i went Hyjal again and i completely focused. After 1h NPC scan alert again for only Magria and still there was nothing around and JUST NOW its alerted me again for magria and i still cant see anything!

Let me tell you what i see in this god damn map and please help me out here ok. I see Fire Lands portal, some Yellow Trees and Charred Flamewalkers triangle casting a fireball and lots of Spirit of Malornes and ome Elements. And like i sad i did all quests even some dailys like when u kill invaders and use wolf howl to their corpse etc...

Please help me or tell me is this my fault or NPC scans?

( I have Arcturis, Skoll, Ghostcrawler, Banthalos and many rare pets like Sambas, Savage, Terrorpene, Skarr ,King Krush, Kirix, Olm the Wise, Quall etc... in my stable master. I just dont want to give up from Magria and Ankha for an unknown reason thats all and at this point you guys have to understand me )

Your comment about Karma is so true. I've only been playing a hunter for a month or two now and hunting for pet's has been so much fun. The first spirit beast I found was Ankha and she was a few weeks back. I only found her because I've been searching for Ban'thalos. I don't have the patience (or time) to just sit and wait so I usually make several trips a day to check. Well last night when I was doing my Golden Lotus dailies, I came across Portent's tracks. Since I had already had him, I went into general asking if any hunters would like to try and take him. Immediately I received an invite and the person said, "Be right there. Just need to stop by my stable." I began the tracking and after some searching was able to successfully help the other hunter get that tame. We exchanged thank yous and goodbyes and I logged for the evening. I woke up very early this morning because I couldn't sleep well and did my dailies. I had a few extra minutes before I needed to start getting ready for work and thought to go check for Ban'thalos. On my way to Malone, my NPC scan went off notifying my that Magria was right below me. I thought that I might as well just grab her because I already had Ankha. As soon as I finish the Magria tame NPC scan goes off again notifying me that Ban'thalos was near by. I quickly hop on my mount and bolt to her location. In the matter of seconds I had him as well! In a total of 5 minutes I had two new spirits beasts. But I truly believe it was because of the evening before.

I could have just ignored it but I know that feeling of getting a rare spawn and could just let him walk away.

Now if only ly I could find Loque. :-/

After this amazing pet for his/her likeness to Rak'Shiri (my main original hunter's pet in vanilla/BC) while being a Spirit Beast. Also coming up with theories on how the spawn times work.

Friday: 9pm. (give take 10min): Ankha spawns. (Tamed)
Saturday: 3:15am. : Ankha spawns. (Had deal with hunter I befriended and helped him get Ankha)
Saturday: 4:12pm. : Ankha spawns. Couldn't find another hunter willing/wanting to grab, therefore tamed yet again. (note: there was a server reset at 9am.)
I will also note that I had attained Ban, the owl, nearby roughly 5-10 minutes before Ankha spawned. Also Ankha spawned right before me by the golden tree at the edge of the rise to the portal, and (fail attempted with gear on rofl) killed me and upon my res found him running far down the path, so if he does spawn it's likely by that tree or at the other mentioned spot.

Still on my search for Magria. Grats to all who have him. Hopefully I can find some form of pattern in times that they spawn rather than a 6-17hour timer.

Just got this awesome pet on Darrowmere at 12:52AM :) He spawned right on the other side of the log by the golden Pine tree and ran right at me. :) Easy tame.

I flew back and forth across the regrowth a couple times, and then I hovered over the far east edge while I tabbed out to double check on the strategy for taming Ankha and Magria, when NPCScan went off. I landed and very nearly forgot to take off my armor. I hadn't set up a macro, so I had to pull it all off piece by piece, by the time I finished Magria had taken off running, but I caught up and snagged her (him?) easily.

HEADS UP: If the regrowth is still on fire for you and you see Nemesis walking around, you are in the wrong phase (the Flamewake phase) and Magria won't spawn no matter how long you wait. To see Magria, you have to do the Hyjal questline for the Flamewake phase to become The Regrowth phase.

I leveled to 90 without doing firelands and wasted hours looking for Magria in the wrong phase. Those of you who leveled to 90 without doing firelands must do the following:

You need to at least complete the available Hyjal quest lines and complete the quest 'The Sanctuary Must Not Fall' when Malfurion summons Malorne in a cut-scene. (sorry I don't know where to specifically link the whole questline. I'm sure it's out there somewhere.) Don't stop at Aessina's Miracle where it phases over.
This list of quests will help you get started. Follow them through and keep going til you get to The Sanctuary Must Not Fall. Check here as well for a guide.

For those of you who are already 90 and haven't done Firelands, they are low level quests and the 'exclamation point' will not always show over the NPC. You have to click the NPC to get the quest.

Basically, you need to get to the point where you've unlocked the Sanctuary of Malorne dailies (blue exclamation point over Matoclaw at the Sanctuary of Malorne) before Magria will show up for you.

Take off your armor (you can still equip your weapon). The _NPCScan alarm won't go off if you've cached Magria on another toon or achievement. Clear your _NPCScan cache by deleting /World of Warcraft/Cache/WDB/enUS/creaturecache.wdb with Wow closed and uncheck the 'search for completed achievement NPCs' toggle box on _NPCScan.

Ankha tamed 1:30pm server, Magria tamed 6:30 am server next day. Both at spawn point.

Oh, and don't forget to get your core hound before you phase over to Regrowth because they disappear. :-)

As a MoP baby, I only recently learned about the spirit beasts in Northrend and the Cata-zones. Since I had my worgen BM hunter hit max level, I have him check back to these zones the wild things roam and it's rather easy to hop from Pandaria to SW/Hyjal/Dalaran thanks to portals in the Shrine of Seven Stars. For a long while I wanted to get Ban'thalos and Arcturis since they're my favorite of the spirit beasts. But only recently was I unlocking the Molten Front dailies out of boredom from Golden Lotus/Klaxxi and I never seen Arcturis alive in the wild, only as tamed by friends. A close hunter buddy did see him alive once when she was chilling in Northrend and told me about the bear. In a heartbeat I made sure I had a free tame slot and ported to Dalaran and fly as fast as I can to Grizzly Hills, but alas some griefer came about and shot him and, ya guess it, a hunter with a spirit porcupine. You would think a fellow hunter would be more understanding and leave such a rare animal alone with these days with cross realms. It was very disappointing but days later we went to check on Hyjal for the owl as I had unlocked the dailies. First time wev went there he wasn't there she just showed me the tips on taming him and also told me about the cats that spawn in the same zone as well.

Now I thought these cats has the most unusual but yet very fun method of taming: getting bucknaked because of the cat's special ability. She even told me of her own experience of taming Magria back in the Cata era (she played WoW since Wrath). When she prepared to tame Magria, as she was having her toon become naked with only the skinvees on, some orc DK came about she said and she believed he was gonna attempt on griefing her, just as the hunter done about the bear in Northrend on my case. However, he was fully armored and possibly unaware of what these cats are capable of. Said he was killed in 2 secs and my friend just went on taming the cat right on the player's body. By the time he ressed, my friend was standing in her naked glory with Magria by her side and the orc fled in shame.

I didn't really plan on getting the cats myself but after hearing my friend's story, I got interested in maybe taming one of them if I have a free pet slot and happened to see one spawn. And sure enough during my scouting for Ban'thalos, I saw her spawn and I swooped down and got my worg naked as well. The tame was flawless and I barely got any damage inflicted by the cat and there was also no one around at the time. So now I got that cat and not only that, but a few mins later Ban'thalos also spawned and I tamed him as well. So now I got two spirit beasts by my side.

I can say for Ban'thalos that for the EU Darkspear server at 6 am, spawn from last tame/kill is 6 hours as I did see him tamed by a fellow Nelf hunter around 12 am eariler that day and of course I congratulated him because I believe in good sportsmanship for hunters c: Magria, I am not sure as this is the first time I saw her in the wild but I guess I can say perhaps is close as they seemed to spawn both at the same time. Hunters, be kind to your fellow hunters, don't kill their potential new friends or if they tamed the beast before you get a chance to, cheer for them. You'll get your chance someother time. I think karma was on my side that night because I was happy for that hunter getting his owl and I was able to get him later plus Magria c:

I want to tame this one, but, no idea what 'phase' I'm in.

I completed all quests on Mt Hyjal... flew over and nothing appeared so figured was done at lvl84. When I came back to find the cat at lvl85, a new quest showed up... completed it, now everything's on fire fire again. :S

Finished what I could find (I think) and gave another fly over, but although no yellow ! showing, the fire is still there. Portal to the Firelands is clear, I can go in and out... is there a line of quests in there I need?

EDIT - Downloaded Quest Completest, shows 137 quests and I've completed them all. ...?

Tamed on Icecrown-US on 08/07/2013 one hour after daily reset. Camped by the tree at 27,51 for two weeks, becoming more and more frustrated because I only ever saw Ankha. Too bad CRZ exists, otherwise I might have made quite a bit of gold from all the other hunters I gave Ankha to. Anyway, I hit the macro kindly provided by rubykiss555 on the Loque'nahak page for about four hours when NPC Scan and Silver Dragon both went off with the raid warning and almost scared me into voiding my bowels.

But where was she? I turned my camera. THERE SHE WAS! Mounted up, auto-shot at her (oh dammit WHY IS MY SHA-TOUCHED GUN EQUIPPED?) hit tame before it was too late, all the while praying to whatever gods exist that no one would zoom in and kill her while I was taming her. 6..5...4...3...2...1... YES she was mine! I was talking to a hunter friend of mine on RID chat and was freaking out during the taming process.

In the end, I got my beautiful blue spirit kitty. All I need now is Loque, and I'll have all the spirit cats.

In order for it to appear, i had to unlock the fireland dailies and not only the reqrowth area, it's a bit tricky..

After searching for many weeks after hitting 85 on my hunter, I finally found Magria while making mac n cheese. Who knew that mac n cheese is like a good luck charm?

Wooooo, success!

After getting way too obsessed with camping rares, I promised myself never again... well, until I caught sight of Ankha and Magria, that is. So I told myself one (or two?) more would probably be okay. ;D The first spawn of the day was Ankha at 12 noon server time (Lightning's Blade). I saw it called out in general chat but I was still in the wrong phase. Literally minutes away from getting through it, too. What a bummer. But I shrugged and moved on. It happens. I figured I would come back around 6 and check out the 6-hour theory.

As it turns out, this would be the one night my in-laws invite my hubby and me over for dinner and board games. Starting at 5:30. OF COURSE. I was kind of miffed but tried hard to remember that family is always more important than WoW. I check back in after dinner and games at around 7:30. I figure I've missed the spawn, but whatever, won't hurt to sit at the spot and check Facebook for a while, just in case.

At 7:52, an Alliance hunter drops by and one-shots my naked self. Fantastic. He paces around for a while but leaves rather quickly. Almost too bad -- I was kind of hoping to see someone try for a tame with full armor.

At 8:00 PM on the dot, exactly 8 hours after the first spawn, Ankha comes up. I drop to the ground right at the spawn point, hit tame, and she's mine! No issues and no interruptions. Victory!

After that, I camped the area for quite a while to see if I could grab Magria while I was at it. Here's my total list of witnessed spawns.

First day, 12 noon: Ankha (the one I missed)
8:00 PM: Ankha (the one I tamed)

9 AM next day: Ankha
3:30 PM: Ankha again, watched one hunter die twice trying to tame her with level 70 armor on (not sure why he thought that wouldn't count as armor...) and helped one who was already naked and flying around looking make the tame he'd been waiting for
8:52 PM: Magria! Just after as a high-level Ally hunter cleared the area, too. ^^

In summary, this has been a pretty perfect weekend.

I've been looking for Gondria for sometime now. Not camping, just fly overs and such. The other day while I was in Zuldrak doing my usual a friend of mine told me Ankh was up, and hurry over. Hearth was on CD...so I fly to Dal, port to Org, port to Hyjal and start to fly to my friend's dot on the map. Nothing....I wasn't in the right phase.

She tries to kite Ankh to me....nothing lol. So I give up, she takes the tame and I start questing to unlock that phase. I had 1 quest left....1. I was pretty annoyed. So I stripped my hunter down and flew up and down the spawn area for hours that night, at least 5. Same thing the following night. This afternoon I decide to just give up, I have more important stuff to do right now than flying naked around for a cat that I will never see again. I log in, fly down and start to hearth....BAM yellow circle on the map. It was Magria, which I had wanted so much more than Ankh. Only a druid was in the area, and thankfully I was still nude lol. I got the tame without any hassle.

For all those hunters out there looking for a spirit beast, my experience showed this one and twin to be the least camped... probably due to the quests that have to be done in order to unlock the phase.

I was having no luck with any of the other (heavily camped) spirits but had no trouble with this one. I was the only hunter in the zone every time I did a /who, and the spawn was there as soon as I unlocked the regrowth phase.

I tamed her on 1/24/14 at 12:10, I had been sitting in the wrong phase! I quickly did the Molten Front quests and sat there for about 10-15 minutes, another Hunter was sitting there, luckily he had Magria so he gave her to me! Shout out to Meiderik-Galakrond for my tame! Hope he gets Ankha.

Just tamed at 5:15am PST on Kirin Tor. Saw her when I came to do Firelands dailies on my druid and alt hopped to my hunter to get her. I was trying to tame her and she one shot me twice, so I came here to see if there were any other posts about this happening. Sure enough, some posts mention if you are wearing your usual gear, she hits hard. Like a mack truck is an understatement. So I tried it with ALL my gear removed and she barely hurt me. Another tip, she is immune to "Freezing Trap". So just disrobe and tame, and she is yours!

I know there are a ton of guides on how to tame this one, but if you're anything like me, you blaze through so many tips that you start getting things mixed up. Despite people reading a lot of these, there are some things that a lot of people seem not to notice.

• You NEED to be able to access the Firelands dailies. DO NOT mistake the fact that just because your map says "The Regrowth" means you're in the clear. I wasted a couple of days because I thought I'd done enough, but I hadn't. If you can make it into the Firelands portal, you're good to go and appropriately phased. A good tip I read was that if you don't see nagas and elementals messin' &*!@ up, you're not in the right phase.

• Magria and Ankha still share the same path, and I confirmed many others comments that the two cats share a spawn timer with Ban'Thalos, the spectral owl hovering over the Sanctuary of Malorne. If you visit his WoWhead page, someone has a good tip about taming the bird on top of the highest tree, there.

The most useful tip I can offer on taming this creature? I saw several Ankha spawns, and they each appeared at exactly 6 hours of each other.

Hope this helps some hunters. Also, I know it's hard to trust people, but I met someone looking for Ankha, and I wanted Magria. She asked if I'd let her know if she spawns, and I went ahead to add her battletag and let her know. It of course spawned, and I helped her get the cat before someone else did.

Be kind if someone is looking for the other cat. I was a bit nervous, because someone could easily lie and say they want the other, then try and nab the one you want from you, but hey... Benefit of the doubt is always kind.

Tamed Magria at 1:18am MST on June 25, 2014 on Draenor. I've been searching for this cat for about 4 months, I am so excited to have tamed this awesome spirit beast! I was flying around with no armor when he popped up on my NPC scan near the western side of its spawn path. As a lvl 90, the tame was no trouble. Just a note, ALWAYS remember to tame without armor, this kitty hits like a beast!

I didn't have any trouble keeping armor on and using Deterrence and the Tame glyph. But if you aren't comfortable with this go for the naked route. (Why not, seems fun.) Lvl 90 Hunter 10/6/14

Just some info on spawn times for those looking to hunt for this:

I managed to tame both Magria and Ankha over a period of a couple of days, for these 2 days I was present for every single spawn except maybe one which was walking around when I woke up one morning. I saw Magria around 6 times in a row before Ankha appeared, and after I or someone else tamed it I'd log off or go do something else for 6 hours before looking for the next spawn.

Every single time I returned at the 6 hour mark I'd camp there, and one of them would always spawn within the next 2 hours. Some were much sooner than others but it was always within this timeframe. This was true for something like 7 spawns in a row.

So 6-8 hours does seem to be accurate and they always seem to spawn within this time frame, at least in my experience. Just thought I'd put this out there because there are quite a few posts saying 6-17 hours. That may have been the case back in Cataclysm but it seems to be 6-8 now.

Also, they don't share a spawn timer with Banthalos. I've seen him up at the same time as one of these cats.

Level 90 blood elf here. Tamed around 11:15 pm server time (12:15 am EST). I had been camping at Magria's spawn point (at 29, 51) for about six hours. Thankfully all the hunters I came across saw me camping and left. Much appreciated. Finally Magria spawned pretty much right in front of me, I quickly used arcane shot, deterrence, then tame. Without any armor on, it was very easy.

Jumping servers is the easiest way to farm rare pets and mounts...

On THAT note - today I was server hopping looking for both Magria AND Anhka. So there I am - bouncing back and forth when Magria appears on some random server! So I dive down and begin my tame (all armor is tripped) and right as he did his initial "one-shot" attack - my pet instantly killed him...

...yeah.

I forgot to dismiss my Gara and she ripped that little kitty in two.

So I dismissed my active pet - and went back to server hopping - and wouldn't you know it - as I bailed the last group and went back to MY server - Nordrassil - Magria appeared and I got the tame...

Just so everybody knows an doesn't sit around like a dumbass like me for the pet to spawn in the wrong phase there is a long quest line you have to complete to see Magria. You must complete the quest chain The Last Living Lorekeeper to Aessina's Miracle. This is a fairly long quest chain it took me about a day to finish it. I hope this helps so nobody just ends up sitting around waiting for the pet to spawn in the wrong phase! lastly the way to be positive that you are in the right phase is if you completed the quest with the cinematic of the wisp talking to you an the regrowth area is more grassy but slightly on fire.

Must be BM to tame. If you switch specs to MM for instance stampede will not summon Magria. Instead copies of one of your others pets will be summoned instead.

After reading and taming both cats in one evening, I feel it worthwhile to mention that I had an easier time finding Ankha than I did Magria. I realm hopped and found Ankha on multiple occasions... after I tamed him/her. When I finally found Magria (around the time I was giving up for the night), he was bugged (ironically trying to kill a bug). I took off my armor and eventually completed the tame. It was about 11:15pm realm time. Good luck hunters!

Blizz is going to have to create a bigger stable for collectors like me. XD

So today I have been one lucky girl! I have snagged banthalos, ankha & magria all today!
Let me tell you the story of each one below to see if it'll help you out on your quest to tame these beauties.

Basic:
Server: Lightning-Hoof
Level: 88

First Tame: Banthalos
Time: 6:24 PM - Mountain Time
Important Note: hit Deterrence when falling to hit your back into the mountain or in the water

I didn't realize how complex this tame was until I came on here to read the comments after I tamed this gem. I was finishing up one of the quests here when my NPC went off... it took me a minute to realize this beauty was flying high in the sky above me.

I flew up to the highest tree, floated above it and dismounted. My huntress landed on the top and I stood there ready. Banthalos neared me and I realized I wasn't going to hit him just standing there since it was too low. So I jumped up straight and hit the button "Distracting Shot" - well it hit him and he changed his course toward me. Now this was the part where I started to fall down. As I neared the ground, I hit the spell "Deterrence" - and my huntress flew right into the side of the mountain to where she slid down.

I landed with 2% left of my health - got that one achievement for it too "Going Down" - as soon as I grounded, I hit the tame button. Banthalos was still flying at me. By the time he neared me, he was mine!

Second Tame: Magria
Time: 6:31 PM - Mountain Time

So like I said, I'm a lucky girl! Aft3er Banthalos was mine, I decided to check out if the other spawns had rares in it just because I got lucky on this one. So I flew over to where Magria +Ankha spawn. I first hit there spawn point which was empty, followed the trail down and low and behold Magria was running down the slope at the very end. I immediately dismounted and just hit the tame button. Didn't do anything fancy for this gem at all. I ended up taming Magria with more than 60% health left!

Third Tame: Ankha
Time: 11:30 PM - Mountain Time
Important Note: Was Naked + Spawn time was 5 hours!

So for Ankha, I came on here to find out what their spawn times where since I knew that Ankha shared a spawn time with Magria. Well on here most people have stated that Ankha + Magria spawns are usually 6+ hours with mainly Ankha spawning. That they also spawn at their spawn point behind the light green tree.

Well to make this short, all I did was make a macro to get "Naked" leaving only my tabard and rings on. I logged out in their spawn and relogged back in at 11:25 PM. I had though that since I was able to get my firetort (Terrorpene) within 6 hours from dieing, that there might have been a possibility that this cat would spawn earlier .Well the second I logged in, I was met with the white tiger. I immediately hit my macro to get naked & than hit the Tame button. She was mine!

Used NPCScan, NPCScan Overlay, and SilverDragon. They all worked perfectly even though SilverDragon is outdated. Took me about a day to get this. Most of the time I just stood next to the rock she spawns on and put down freezing traps so WoW would tell me I was in combat while alt-tabbed even if the addons didn't work. Caught on Dalaran just now, it is 4:05 AM EST.

I understand that Magria and Ankha share spawn times and that the timer is anywhere between 6 to 17 hours but I have been waiting by this spawn point for at least 2 days with the help of my family and the only thing that has happened is that a guildie was phased lower then me to tame ankha. I have completed the quest chain that's been noted repeatedly in many of these posts and it still hasn't spawned. Is there somethinelse I might be missing. I do keep hearing a roar in the background though Iam not mounted or have any active pets while I wait. I'm frustrated...tired and feel like giving up!pls if anyone has any ideas run them by me. Thanks

Tamed Magria while wearing full armor at level 100. She did no damage. However, I was transformed with the Ghostly Iron Buccaneer's Hat. Perhaps if Magria cannot SEE your armor, then she can't use it against you!

So there I was, looking for Ankha. I spot Magria on my home realm of Dalaran.. Being nice I look for a hunter and inform them of Magria's whereabouts, they start to fly over when some Alliance Paladin named "Gaydar-Dalaran" (What a name..) comes over and kills it and flys off. I go on my alliance toon to whisper him asking what his deal is, he replied confused asking me what I'm talking about. I informed him he killed Magria a Spirit Beast a hunter was coming over to tame, he instantly tells me to STFU and it's for an achievement, puts me on ignore and yeah.

As I mention in the video, unlike other youtube videos, like this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HcoyTV55j-4 who says you only have to do quests up to Aessina's Miracle to be in the right phase, I could not see other Hunters in my group who were further along in the quest chain. One hunter, Valkyrie-Ursin, could see foliage on the ground as I could, but we could not see each other except on the map. Why? Because I had not yet done the quests to open the Molten Front.

I could not see the other Hunter until I did enough quests to see three Charred Flamewaker channeling a rotating boulder all over the place. If it's possible to tame Magria in an earlier phase, I apologize for unintentionally spreading bad info, but I'm pretty sure it's the case as I did not see a single Hunter camping for this pet until I completed the opening of Molten Front.

I flew down to camp again when I saw Mags walking around. Easy tame, no one around.

To note I got the Green Spirit Tiger at 6:32 the morning of the 26th.

This is the 5th spirit beast I've come across in 3 days. I accidentally tamed another Ankha yesterday because I panicked and thought it was Magria. Today I got Magria!

Now I have Gondria, Ankha, and Magria.

Just tamed that beast 5 minutes ago on Tichondrius, it was bugged, targetting a Beetle under the ground, if this happens, just activate Show target of target and kill the beetle, it should debug Magria.

I just tamed this beautiful tiger at 02.04 in Draenor EU :D

I was just flying over and i had almost lost all hope because i had been camping other rares (Loque im looking at you) with not much luck, eventhough i tamed King Krush last night which was pretty nice despite it not being Loque..

I feel I got extra lucky on this tame. I had been at the Molton Front camping Deth'tilac, which I did tame earlier in the night, and decided to sit for a bit and see if I could locate Magria or Ankha. After about 30 mins of waiting Magria spawned and was a really easy tame. I tamed Magria at 1:10 AM 9/10/16 PST on the Medivh US server. Now to find Ankha!

Tamed this afternoon at 1:10pm PDT on Cenarius. I took off most of my gear with armor stats, but still had on a belt and bracers. No issues taming and did not take any damage.

I found her the other day and landed to tame beast right away and low and behold my pet comes out and kills her. I am absolutely heartbroken and devastated. Unfortunately, even if my pet did not come out my trinket would have procced on tame beast anyway......

Finally tamed this beauty on 25/01/17 @ 9:35am AEST. Note that Magria was walking closest to the far eastern trail.

EDIT: I'd also like to report that after taming Magria at the above time, neither Magria nor Ankha reappeared 6 hours later.

Having tamed Magria at the time above, Ankha appeared exactly 7 hours later at 4:35pm.

During the time that Magria spawned, Ban'thalos and Skarr were also up.

Tamed Magria on 4/27/17 at 12:33pm PST at the western most point of the path by the yellowish tree. I then tamed Ankha (after camping for 4 hours) on 4/28/17 at 3:24am PST at that same spawn point where Magria spawned. Assuming someone tamed in-between those two time frames, that would put the respawn time at about 5 hours. Best of luck fellow hunters!

Today around 7pm PST on Proudmoore, I saw this beauty running around. But being the lazy person I am I decided not to take off all my stuff and just dismiss my pet and turtle. Well right as I started the tame, Hati decided it would be a good time to pop out and say hello! (Side note, I used the Essence swapper on Hati to make him look like Loq and I've noticed it causes him to come out a few seconds later than it normally would.)

Lesson to take from this? Either land, dismiss your pet and wait a few so Hati won't randomly pop out or do the normal thing and take off all your gear. Save yourself the heartache!

Tamed at 5:45am Nagrand (alliance). Not sure if it's required to take off all your gear, or just your weapon. So took off everything just in case .

To be able to see either Magria or Ankha, you still need to complete about 89/115 quests in mount hyjal, following the story line.

You'll know when you are ok when you get to the regrowth, is when you see the Charred Flamewakers casting a fire spell at a Molten ball, and you'll see the Spirit of Malorne running around

Level 110 no gear and remember to take Titanstrike of so Hati don't one shot him!

After the prepatch, I tried taming without armor (and I mean absolutely nothing in any slot) and died twice...and fast. It's worse with the armor, but that naked taming doesn't seem to help much anymore. I noticed it in the beta, but I hoped it was a glitch or something.

Been working on Magria/Ankha since about a month before BfA dropped and have not seen Magria at all. Screwed up on Ankha and accidentally killed it. But after checking about an hour ago, came back over and there he/she was. Landed, equipped nothing, tamed. Spirit Claw hit for about 17 with no armor on, so a super easy tame.

Tamed today at 29/04/19 Argent Dawn EU, server time = 20:03. I was level 120 and had to remove all my armor as suggested to survive the tame. Gorgeous kitty, very happy :)

I don't know if this is true of all spirit beasts, but I was able to tame Bulvinkel at level 12, before I got the Exotic Beasts ability. I am, however, unable to summon him as my primary pet. So, it seems that with Shadowlands, you can tame an exotic pet you just can't summon it until you hit 39. I have not done extensive testing, I just had this happen and thought it might be useful information for other hunters :)

Beaster Mastery Hunter here. I'd just returned to WoW after 7 years offline. Before taking a break I had finished all the Mt Hyjal quests and was doing the dailies there. Now I want to tame Ankha and Magria, but don't know what to do. Help?

FYI that I tamed Ankha and Magria almost exactly 4.5 hours apart, which is much quicker than most of the spawn estimates I've seen on the comments. Both times they spawned at the far west point up in the trees. I parked my hunter there all day today while I worked. Had rarescanner on, and went nude to indicate my taming intentions to other hunters. I was high enough level (60) that I doubt the cats would have hurt me, but no point tempting fate. :)

Magria and Ankha will both be phased to you until you complete The Sanctuary Must Not Fall. The questline for this final quest in the chain starts with Guardians of Hyjal: Firelands Invasion! There is some confusion on Wowhead on how to get this quest, because originally it was aquired from a Command Board. Now you'll get it once you have progressed far enough into Mount Hyjal. Just follow the main quest path as you make your way around the map: Nordrassil > The Circle of Cinders > Shrine of Goldrinn > Grove of Aessina > Sanctuary of Malorne > The Regrowth > Shrine of Aviana and finally down to Sethria's Roost. You'll then be sent back to Sanctuary of Malorne to Matoclaw who will give you Guardians of Hyjal: Firelands Invasion! Note: Wowhead has this listed as the Alliance version of the quest but I had it as Horde. As soon as I completed this final quest chain, I flew back over The Regrowth and Magria was there roaming about! Just be sure to take off all of your armour as he hits like a truck otherwise!

Okay forget most of everything posted here, in 2022 this is what you need to know. TLDR version:
HYJAL: If you never quested in Hyjal just go there and start doing every quest (~1hr), eventually you'll get the The Sanctuary Must Not Fall quest and a nice cutscene and THEN you can see Magria.
TAMING: take off all your armor and just hit tame
WM ON: turn warmode on, not many people go around there in wm on these days, so higher chance it'll be up
BONUS TIP: ask a friend to make a trial character on some barely populated server, they take a portal to Hyjal and then invite you to party and you phase over to their shard

Got my 2 Magrias in 5 minutes this way on an otherwise very populated server. Enjoy!

Got 2x Magria on my lvl 40 BM Hunter, 9.2.5

As per other posts, this cat shares a spawn with another cat, Ankha (similar skin, but greenish tinge). I wanted a pair of them, so I levelled 30-39 in Hyjal to ensure I was in the right phase (I had heirlooms and full rested), then went on a two-day realm hopping journey.

I got 3x Ankha, then 1x Magria. At that point, I thought the people who guessed the spawn was 50/50 might be right, and that I was just a little unlucky.

Then I got 9 more Ankhas before I got my second Magria.

That's 2 Magria to 12 Ankha - either I was very, very unlucky, or the spawn considerably favours Ankha.

Best of luck to all the hunters who are farming this. If you get your Magria(s) quickly, congrats on your good luck! If not... hang in there. The spawn is a bit horrible, but you'll get it eventually :)

I am actually camping (another) Ankha so I can get my double pet but of course - my awesome luck kicked in and Magria spawned instead (I already have 2 Magria)... I've been here for about 5-6 hours waiting and watching some retro streamers on Twitch... Guess I'll just log out right here and try again tomorrow or just log in randomly and keep trying my luck... Magria seems to be the common spawn of the 2 cats with Ankha being the rare one.

Since I didn't need Magria - I did an immediate shout for any BM Hunters that it spawned... Pretty soon afterwards a bunch of Hunters started showing up both Horde and Alliance. Hopefully someone was able to grab the tame of either faction before it despawned... Not sure how long it actually stays up once it spawns.

Back to the grind.

Going back for this mount, completed quests to change Flaming Wake to The Regrowth, and unlocked the Dailies at the Sanctuary. Neither Magria nor Ankha are spawning at all. Wondering if there were other things I missed, and there is SO MUCH information in these comments that is contradictory, I am so overwhelmed.
