These mobs are a good source of cloth farming as well as a good way to farm the Skyshard that you need to be able to kill the rare mob that is flying around the vale.

As a Blood DK i am able the grab about 15 of them at a time and just AoE them down.

They have a very fast respawn rate around 3min 30 sec so they are very farmable for just about everything.

Their two abilitys First Trickery spawns two copies of themselves that have 39.4k hp they nothing to be worried about.

Their second ability Faerie Swarm Puts a DoT on you that does roughly 2k every 3 sec for 12 sec

Compared to most lvl 90 mobs they have relatively low health 236k this make them easy to AoE in groups

EDIT: to see these mobs you need to do the Quest to stop the Elites from spawning from the Cave.

I believe you talk to He Softfoot near the bottom of the hill where they spawn he is stealthed

There seems to be some event when the Shao Tien take over that rise.. not sure why or what is causing it.

Good for farming motes/shards

But you need to do Temple of the White Tiger and A Witness to History to unlock the gate

they are phased and you need to finish

These are part of the Golden Lotus Dailies at Guo-Lai halls, i believe you unlock these sets of dailies at either honored or revered, however your standing with them won't effect their spawning. As said above, they are great for farming Mote of Harmony aswell as cloth and of course Skyshard which can be used to get the rare mount Reins of the Thundering Ruby Cloud Serpent, however bare in mind that the drop rate of skyshards is 0.2 off these mobs and you'll need 10 of them :p good luck!

I want to make it perfectly clear that these do not always spawn. I have seen them on my Druid, which is honored with Golden Lotus, but when I went to the same place (to farm Skyshards) on my rogue, who is only neutral, they were not there. I do not know if it is a phase with regard to your reputation with GL or just with whichever dailies are available that day, but they are not always there.

I hope this saves some people a bit of searching. I know I looked around for a good 10 minutes just to be sure they weren't there.

EDIT: Established that they do spawn depending on the group of dailies handed out for Golden Lotus, and therefore will not always be present.
