This guy must have a far different spawn timer than other WoD rares, as he was not there when I went to his spawn point and he didn't appear after five minutes of waiting.

This rare is on a rotation with the other 4 rares in the Veil of Anzu. Only one will be up at any given time. Re-spawn timer appears to be roughly 30 minutes. If hes not up, check to see if any of the other ones are up, kill them, wait, repeat.

This Rare will Spawn when a befuddled Relic Seeker reaches 10 kills (100% damage increase listed on the amorphic cognitor debuff) then exits combat.

in a natural situation this will only rarely happen, as his targets (the sane ogre guards) have more hp, and the debuff doesnt actually increase their damage.

to succesfully spawn these, "feed" your pet to them (attack till aggro, then put pet on passive) till 10 stacks, then run away, the ogre will die and the giant will spawn in its place

edit: his hp will not reset when it kills targets, and i noticed it despawning about 10 minutes after having spawned

edit 2: this might actually be the way the fakes spawn, not the actual rares.. will have to test further

edit 3: confirmed, this method spawns the "fake"rares, and also applied to the fake shadow hulks running around

Just did this achievement and found the rare Morphed Sentinel..........Sept 19, 2015

Preparation: Go into LFG custom make a raid, set it as raid, do not invite people and don' t have auto invite on. Your doing this to stall the progress on the quest, you can kill mobs, collect loot and even evolve - transform. Once your ready for the rare you need remove yourself from the raid and the progress bar will be active and getting credit on killing the rare counts towards the achieve.

On to doing the achievement: You have to kill all the rares on this list to start a sequence of spawns, so lets say Shadow Hulk is up kill it and in 20 minutes another rare will spawn. Continue this until you get the rare your after and specifically Morphing Sentinel.

Rare up now what? Start clearing the area around the rare so you can evolve and have less mobs up to make this a headache if you can' t kill this rare fast enough with the Glutenous Giant. You can use the Shadow Hulk but requires some traveling from the Mecha Plunderer area and avoiding mobs. I used the Glutenous Giant and killed the rare under 2 of the 3 minutes your evolved.

Another option that works: I did this as a hunter a second time, so using a pet will work.I cleared area until I was about 2 more mobs from evolving and put my pet on the rare, once rare was at 70% I also evolved and used the 4 buttons the Glutenous Giant has to kill the rare. So if your a class with a pet this will work, don' t use a garrison bodyguard.

I joined the website for this specific achievement and rare, as the information on the internet did not help much until I pieced together my theory that worked as I described here. I will continue to help with strategies on situations in Warcraft as they come up for me where current information is not available or can be done differently and efficiently.

The screenshot here is outdated, as in the model viewer it had the Draenor fungal giant, But in the Screenshot it had the BC model. Anyone can confirm it was an older patch?

I thought all rares were automatically marked on your map when near them, but this rare didn't show up on the compass map even when I was right next to it.
Is this a bug or is there some sort of criteria that needs for them to be met, in order to make them qualified as a "rare" so they'd show in the map?
