This quest is given by Malfurion on top of Nazj'vel. Malfurion appears there when you complete the objective of "The offering to Azshara". However he only stays there for about 1 min after the mini event ends. He actually despawned before I took this quest and the only place I could find him was at eye of the vortex.... however he wont give this quest from that location.

I found that if you repeat the event for "the offering to Azshara" by killing the 4 darkscale priestess on top of Nazj'vel at the green portal, then the mini event between Queen Azshara and Malfurion repeats itself and you can still get the quest from Malfurion here.

Hope this is of help to anyone else who finds Malfurion despawning before they take the quest.

As a horde you can kill the 4 naga summoning Azshara and see the RP. However you wont get much else from the situation.

Soggoth is a level 20 elite, and wasn't an easy fight as a level 23 frost mage (for me, at least). I died the first time. The method I used was to get my elemental to attack, frost bolt him, gain some distance and then use firebolt and fire blast while keeping frostbolt's slowing speed up on him. If he ever got too close, Frost Nova + Blink did the trick.

Make sure not to blink into other mobs. Although there are ancient treants fighting in the area, it's very easy to aggro other mobs, which will be a pain in the ass to deal with on top of Soggoth. Have a couple health pots at hand and you should be good to go. I ended up with around 20 health before I killed him.

seems like kind of a shame that you go through all of this work as a clothy and don't even get a usable reward at the end. i probably would have just skipped the work involved with this one.

i cant get any quest from him he dosent give any quest malfurion. do i have to complete any other quest before you can take the quest from malfuriom

Return to the druids at the Grove of the Ancients when it is all over they will direct you further.

OK, so then where does one go after that? I think I've completed just about every single quest in this area. They don't "direct you further".

Seriously, ive been looking for this malfurion questgiver for hours now! climbing in the mountains been doing quests i found etc, but cant find him and want those bracers he give as reward.

Anyone got a tip plz post :-)

Be sure to actually USE the horn of the ancients you got from the previous quest.
This will summon some ancients to help kick his butt. He is beatable without, but this simplifies things a lot.

The Ancients called by the horn when I did this quest had a slight delay, meaning by the time they had showed, Soggoth was already pounding my face into the back of my skull. As soon as they attack, however, they do pull the aggro off you, just don't panic if he attacks you before the Ancients spawn.

It is essential to kill the Spawn of Soggoth mobs all around the area before "blowing the Horn of the Ancients)" & tackling the Avatar of Soggoth - the aggro radius is very wide & even with the Ancients you will pull some serious heat if you don't clear the area first - LVL 20 Worgen Rogue

If you are a rogue and have glyph of disguise you can pickpocket the Avatar of Soggoth and take his appearance.

I Need help with this. I have done all the previous quests but Malfurion does not give me a quest. The event happens then he just simply despawns. Any ideas?

I was a bit confused when I noticed (during the BfA prepatch / war of the thrones) the quest marker and flew there, but there's nobody to give the quest. Coming to this page, it's clear that it applies to the older phase of Darkshore. I went to talk to Zidormi (in the north) to switch to the old phase, went down and did the quest. But I also think I did the quest previously... at least the achievements say my character completed this quest in 2014. (I switched back to the new phase, and the quest marker is still gone.)

This quest is started by a "spawned" NPC Malfurion Stormrage during an event from the previous quest The Offering to Azshara.

If you didn't pick up the quest in time. Malfurion will despawn after about 30 sec. Simply redo the event with the horn, by killing the NPCs and the event will repeat, you can then pick the quest again.

If you fail to grab This quest , Wait for 30 sec or more to respawn 4 female Naga , Kill them all and Malfurion Stormrage will come

Description

The ancients of the grove have come to our aid, <name>. I can see through their eyes even as we speak.

The Twilight's Hammer has been forced to hasten their ritual and have thus only managed to resurrect but a remnant of dread Soggoth.

Destroy it before it's too late, <name>. I am needed elsewhere.

Return to the druids at the Grove of the Ancients when it is all over they will direct you further.
