This quest's name is probably a reference to the song of the same name by Siouxsie and the Banshees. Looks like there's at least one geriatric goth working for Blizzard, considering Siouxsie herself has a small cameo in Acherus: The Ebon Hold as an NPC. :)

This is a really long quest chain that starts up where Sylvanas originally is. As you finish the quests in each area, you'll either ride along with Sylvanas or she'll send you ahead and meet you. But this zone is HEAVY in content dealing with her. It even sends you inside the greymane wall to do some quests in there, which causes Sylvanas a bit of pain in the end. The Val'kyr are also very important in several of these quests.

Make sure you are dismounted when you accept this quest!

And trying to avoid spoilers: as tempting as it is, try not to engage any mobs while escorting Sylvanas. Cromush bugged out the first time I tried this quest.

As you're riding to the front, spare a few moments to look around. You'll notice that some of them are named worgen fighting. Them being the former named NPCs of Southshore, having accepted the worgen curse as seen way down earlier in the zone. An interesting touch, at the very least.

In order to get this quest it was necessary for me to do the entire chain that starts with I Never Forget a Face. To complete the quest you must go WITH Lady Sylvanas, and listen through all the RP. You can't just run off ahead of her.

It's simple. Wait until Lady Sylvanas stop talking and follow her with her horse to the question mark quest. Just follow her, she won't dissapear.

Lady Sylvanas Windrunner says: Look at them, <name>. They scurry like rats, veering headlong to their doom. Surely Crowley and Bloodfang can see the futility in this!
Lady Sylvanas Windrunner says: To the Greymane Wall! We will force their hand.

You are given the Song of Sylvanas buff, which makes you stronger and move faster. High Warlord Cromush and Sylvanas' Val'kyr Agatha, Arthura and Daschla will stick with you while Sylvanas charges ahead towards the Greymane Wall. At the gates...

Godfrey releases Lorna, and she runs up to Crowley and sits in front of him.

Both Lorna and Crowley retreats back into Gilneas. Baron Ashbury, Lord Walden and Lord Godfrey walks behind Sylvanas.

Lord Godfrey shoots Sylvanas in the back with a gun and she falls over, dead.

Lord Godfrey says: Something that should have been done a long time ago, you filthy animal.
Lord Godfrey says: Gilneas belongs to me, and soon will the rest of Lordaeron!

You now have to battle Lord Godfrey, Baron Ashbury and Lord Walden. High Warlord Cromush, Agatha, Arthura and Daschla will assist you. After a while...

Lord Godfrey yells: FALL BACK, BROTHERS! TO SHADOWFANG!
Lord Godfrey yells: This land will quiver and shake in the wake of our destruction!

Lord Godfrey, Baron Ashbury and Lord Walden retreats, presumably to Shadowfang Keep. Agatha, Arthura and Daschla will surround Sylvanas.

High Warlord Cromush says: Fix her... FIX HER!
Agatha says: We are bound to her, sisters...
Arthura says: It will destroy us, sister...
Dascha says: It is our sacred duty. The pact was sealed, the bargain made...
Arthura says: Then let it be done.

The sisters all channel their energies into Sylvanas, bringing her back to life. However, it comes with a price as all sisters dies. Sylvanas slowly gets back up while Cromush kneels in front of her.

Lady Sylvanas Windrunner says: I saw... only darkness.
Lady Sylvanas Windrunner says: And as I drifted towards nothingness, a brilliant light appeared, then another, and another... My dear val'kyr.
Lady Sylvanas Windrunner says: I know now - beyond a shadow of doubt - that the val'kyr are our future.
Lady Sylvanas Windrunner says: We will never stop fighting for Lordaeron. Never...

Sylvanas never ceases to amaze me. Not only is she good-looking (For a Forsaken. Amirite?) but she has compassion unlike most Forsaken. She still has that bit of High Elf left in her.

Just worth noting that you need to dismount before accepting this quest, as with most from Lady Sylvanas.

Game mechanics and lore don't mix. In the fictional setting of the lore (as opposed to in the game), "hit points" don't exist, and even the weakest gun can kill the most powerful person at point blank range if your aim is true.

This quest takes a long time to acquire - I thought, "Maybe just a few more quests" twenty times. The good news is you'll get your achievement for Silverpine quests before you ever see this quest as an option, and once you finish the quest, the loot is beyond most other quest loot you've had access to in Silverpine. Certainly my twink appreciated the bracers.

Oh, as for Sylvanas being evil...yes, yes she is. I have no toons but Forsaken, and I believe very strongly that the BC Forsaken were more underdogs, misunderstood folk, etc. There have been huge discussions on the forums about how far Sylvanas has fallen recently. Maybe Blizzard needed someone to make Garrosh seem "not so bad."

I lost Sylvanas immediately as well, and wandered around a bit, ended up abandoning and restarting. Her character phases once you start the quest, so I slapped a raid icon on her and stuck close. No problem then.

I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this last quest of the zone! WoW! A blockbuster movie-type ending! She's always been a favorite of mine.... so baddass yet so feminine as well :)

Pets should be set to passive, as they tend to go after mobs that "inadvertently" hit you.

To get this quest:

You basically must do most of the quests in SPF.

The people below saying it shows up after 20 quests are wrong, I've done 30 and it's still not showing up... I'm basically assuming it's one of the very last quests in the entire zone.

To get this quest, you must complete EVERY QUEST IN SILVERPINE, there are something like 75 of them, I got the zone Ach long before I got the final quest.

ALSO

You must do 25 or so quests in Gilneas about halfway throught this.

So if you are goin for twink gear I estimate you will spend 4 hours or so, doing these 100 + / - quests.

Isn't it a little strange that Cromush is so insistent that the val'kyr "fix" Sylvanas when she is killed? And isn't it odd that he kneels in front of her when she is brought back?

You would think he would just go back to Orgrimmar and tell Hellscream the "$%^&*", as the Warchief referred to her, is gone and go about his merry way, but instead he demands the val'kyr "FIX HER". Maybe the orc was looking at more than just 'inconspicuous bears' while he was marching circles around the Banshee Queen?

Hello, fellow Horde mail-wearing tinks!

Do not be thwarted by this quest chain. The reason why is it's probably one of the most fun and engaging story line quest chains to ever be put into this game. As a result it's highly enjoyable. Do it in between queues.

There are a couple of bugs to be aware of:

1. When finding the body of Lord Whats-his-face by the coast, the followup quest will not be available until you have killed 20 worgen. Bug, or simply Blizzard miscalculated how many you would kill on the way over there. Go kill 20 worgen then go back to his body, quest givers re-appear there.

2. On final part, you have to keep an eye on Sylvanas and where she is riding. Some of the npc's follow you and as a result it is confusing. You have to follow her or they all despawn, and you have to abandon the quest and retake it.

Androidus says you must dismount to get this quest: that is (no longer?) true: you can accept the quest and follow her to the Graymane Wall while mounted; BUT I stayed mounted and the quest did not finish up; I dismounted and immediately the action resumed and the quest finished.
P.S. I have a Level 85 Loremaster toon (she's done the quest achieve for EVERY land) and I agree that this is a cool quest chain and also somehow, I don't know why, I like the entire Silverpine Forest quest achieve.
Another P.S: I have done Silverpine Forest several times with different toons and I just follow all of the quests as they come up - if you do it this way the quests leading up to this one don't come up until you have done the quest achieve - just doing the quests you get.

The entire zone was wonderful up until "Lady Sylvanas Windrunner dies."

It just seemed like really poor godmodding RP, almost comically so. Everything else was fine, just that... one poor line.

I really did enjoy this questline. I just feel like I got more of the Worgen storyline from playing the undead than I did from playing my Worgen. I would have loved to known that the Alliance actually came in and we owned Gilneas again for a little while.

Like most, I find this a fun questline, my only problem with it is the lorebreaking at the end, where the bullet manages to kill a banshee, which are spirits. Pretty sure bullets can't kill spirits.

SO... I completed these quests at level 16 (had xp off to do it). Of course, the next quest is greyed out. So to save anyone else a bit of time, the quest she will give Requires level 19.

I dismounted to accept the quest as someone suggested, but then I mounted and rode along side her. I tried 4 times and the quest bugged at the end every time. You need to be dismounted to accept and you need to run along side her to the Greymane Wall. Then it will play out completely.

Just finished the questline for my twink bracers. Overall great storyline! I like to see this as the undead's side of the worgen starting area. Had a little trouble with Marstone, but got him down. The ending is the best part so, if you are planning on doing this questline, have some popcorn ready for Cities of Dust! Dem bracers doe!

Am I the only one who gets the feeling Cromush is in love with Sylvanas? He yells Fix her obviously wanting her brought back to life, and not many people would mourn her (in-game), everytime I get to this quest I wonder if that's the case, he doesn't seem at all like Garrosh's Kor'kron, like he actually cares and has feelings for her?

Protip; I asked general and my guild about it and didn't get an answer from either.

If you're using your Chauffeur, the quest will glitch. She gives you a buff and it'll increase your run speed. Don't use a mount or your Chauffeur. :) I had to abandon and pick up twice before I realized it.

I collect the quest and start crossing the battlefield yet half way through Sylvanas just vanishes and im left standing there in teh middle of the battlefield.

Have tried this 4 times and each time the same happens

I've done this one about ten times now! I've gotten to the gate, seen the dialog in the dialog box, but no one is there. I'm *not* mounted. I've abandoned and restarted it repeatedly, but I keep losing the Valkyr before I even get away from the camp. Is there a specific path they follow? Am I getting turned around and phasing out? How can I prevent this?

I disabled all addons. I was not mounted when I excepted the quest. I did not mount to get to where I needed to be for the quest. I did not follow the road. it worked

I just completed this quest and it bugged on me first try.

Here is what I had to do to make it work (2018):
1. Before taking the quest, make sure you are dismounted.
2. After taking the quest I put a marker on her to make her easy to follow.
3. I followed her on foot strictly keeping even with her, not lagging behind or going ahead.
4. I waited through all dialog and then attacked the guys when they turned red/attack-able.
5. I made sure that I stood right by Slyvanas during all dialog.
This worked and I was able to complete the quest.

Some of the other suggestions didn't work such as just dismounting to fight the guys. It completely glitched if I wasn't dismounted all along.

Hey guys!

At the moment, If you move away from the area related to this quest, it will break the progression and you won’t be able to continue it. You’ll have to abandon the quest and start it again in order to complete it. Our developers are looking into this.

Most annoying quest in the game, fails way to easily. Tip: Don't use movement abilities, I was near the end and Heroic leaped away from an enemy to charge back in but as soon as I heroic leaped away quest failed. Do not move more then 2ft away from Syl, at 1 point she stopped and I was standing right in front of her horse almost touching it, quest failed.

This bugged out for me several times before I got it to work. The key word in the quest text is 'follow' (i.e., don't run ahead of her!).

- Don't be mounted when you accept the quest
- Don't mount up after accepting the quest
- Don't fight mobs along the way
- Don't run ahead of her - she stops twice and has a bunch of dialogue

You know a quest is bugged and ruined when you have to restart it 16 times for no fault of your own, this is the most obnoxious bug I've encounter all of my time playing, when before this was NOT an issue whatsoever, I always did it first try.

When you start the quest, target Sylvanas and stay inside the little circle on the ground around her. Do not mount. Do not jump. Walk right on top of her and it works. It's just like any escort quest, if you get outside of their range it fails and in her case the range is only like 1 yard.

As has been stated a bunch of times, you need to stay in Sylvanas' targeting circle/hitbox/model in order to not instantly fail out. Don't mount up; you are granted the buff Song of Sylvanas for the duration of this quest, and part of it is increased movement speed. She stops twice. During the first stop, watch out for the dialogue line "To the Greymane Wall! We will force their hand." because she takes off right after it. She's about as fast as you are with that movement speed buff, so you don't have a whole lot of time to react before it's be too late.

This quest seems to be bugged: after the "Lady Sylvanas Windrunner dies." message, you fail the quest if you start laughing, dancing, launching fireworks, and taking a S.E.L.F.I.E next to her corpse.

Had an issue where the quest would complete but Sylvanas wouldn't be available for turn-in. Ran back to turn it in at the starting point and it switched to failed. Did the quest three times, but logged out on the third time after the quest marked completed. Logged back in and I could turn in the quest.

Currently - in 2024 - I cannot seem to hand in this quest anymore. After Sylvanas is 'revived' - She just disappears... So... the Quest marker leads to nothing. It's not failed, it just can't be handed in?

If Sylvanas despawns when she's ressurected you need to complete part of the questline The Gilneas Reclamation up to and including Hounds of War where you open the gates to Gilneas City. After the cutscene you will phase, and Sylvanas will be visible again.

The quest giver for the first quest of this chain is found in a house just south of Shadowfang keep, approximately at 43, 73

As of the release of the Reclamation of Gilneas storyline you need to complete that before you can complete this quest. Sylvannas kept phasing out for me at the end of the quest. She then reappeared after I finished the Reclamation of Gilneas storyline

Description

Our armies clash across the battlefield. Crowley and his forces are losing ground and they do not yet know the fate of Lorna Crowley. We will meet with Crowley and his compatriots at mid field and I will present them with terms of their surrender. They will either accept or we will kill them all and leave their cities in dust.

As my most trusted soldier, you are to stand by my side during the exchange. Tell me when you are prepared to leave.
