No need to target the roaches individually or attack. Simply walk/run over them and you're credited for the 'crush'.

Near the entrance, you'll find a few here and there scampering around. As you get further into Ihgaluk Crag, you'll find large groups of them that make the quest go a lot faster.

For those running around forever hunting roaches, there are small groups to be found scattered all over that spawn. I found that around the lake in the center of the Crag, they have more group spawn points.

Here's waypoints to general spawn points as well.

*edit* I don't know if I wasn't clear, but I'm talking about WHERE spawned groups are more likely to appear, not where general roaches appear. As Pucurica said, yes they spawn everywhere, but you will find groups around the lake.

You merely have to run/walk over the roaches to kill them; you can actually do this in your normal form as well, but obviously you want to be doing this in the saurok skin buff provided automatically during the quest.

Also, killing a roach does not seem to aggro any of the saurok, despite the cockroach being a sort of "sacred animal" to them. I squished one right next to a saurok, and he didn't even flinch. How odd.

The roaches you kill while simply walking over them count as critters killed for the purposes of Critter Kill Squad.

I've actually made some decent progress just walking about in the Saurok area. If you go over the pig piles, you get even more.

So after not receiving credit for all the roaches I was CLEARLY running over, I went to the Blizz bug report forums. It seems that after the stat squish, the roaches have 40 health and it now takes 2-3 passes to "kill" a roach. So do not go by that gruesome "squish" noise, pretend you're looking at super Florida cockroaches (I know whereof I speak) and stomp those suckers until the quest tracker registers it for credit.

As of 19/12 it is still bugged.

A good suggestion is to avoid stationary groups of roaches and concentrate on running ones: these are spawned on the go (and despawn when reaching the border of the zone) so they almost always give valid tag for the quest.

Description

Ah, roaches! I once bought a pet roach in the Undercity.

Roaches will soak up disease like a sponge, and then spread it as far as they can run. Which is pretty far.

Ihgaluk Crag is crawling with the things, and they carry Skumblade filth all over of this island. Crush as many of them as you can while you're there.
