Where do you turn this quest in at? I would've assumed at the gem hut but the NPCs there don't have a Q mark for turn in.

A Critical Strike Taladite that is created by your Gem Boutique Level 2's inhouse NPC Jewelcrafter will satisfy this quest's requirement to "create," so it can still be completed by a player who is not trained in Jewelcrafting.

I had the same issue and figured out what the problem is. The quest was given by a follower and that follower needs to be assigned to the building in order to be able to turn the quest in.

Had the issue where the quest giver disappears like many others but found a simple fix to make the person show up to turn in the daily.
Simply remove the follower from working there and then put him back, he should then be standing in the JC work area.

This quest seems to be bugged for me today. I can accept the quest, but when I make the critical strike taladite, I only get credit for HAVING the gem, not creating it. Abandoning the quest, getting rid of the taladite, and making it again does nothing (reloading my UI also fails to help). I've successfully completed the quest in the past, so it might have something to do with the patch roll out a couple days ago.

My Jewelcrafter (Soulbinder Tuulani) lives at my JC building, and I never use her on missions, so I don't think that's the problem.

If your server has the mat cost for the gem to be HIGHER than the gem itself (which very likely) you can do this trick.

Have full bag space, make the cut, you won't receive the gem because you will be full, but you will still get the credit for making one.

Then buy one gem off AH to get the credit for having the gem itself. Turn in for 250g.
Sell the mats for more than what you get the gem for.

The Jewelcrafting Payment you receive in reward for this daily is simply for money (ranging from about 100 - 300 gold per bag).
There are a total of 5 dailies which reward this bag.
This is useful for achieving Got My Mind On My Draenor Money, which allows you to purchase Storehouse, Level 3.

The following 5 Jewelcrafting dailies award Jewelcrafting Payment (ID#119191) which awards 200-300G (247G average after opening 88 bags).

Jewelcrafting Special Order: A Fine Choker awards Jewelcrafting Payment (ID#119195) which has an average of 146G after opening 22 bags. Actual values range from a low of 102.05G to a high of 196.08. Best guess is that the range is 100-200g. This quest may or may not be worth it depending on the price of Blackrock Ore.
