I killed her and did not get credit for the quest. Logged out and in, still did not get credit. While in the cave, I dropped and picked up the quest, killed her again and did not get credit. Finally, I left the cave, dropped the quest, ran back in, picked it up, killed her and finally got credit. Third time was the charm.

You dont need to run to anywhere, Agatha just spawned behind you.
She isnt hard enemy, just burst her down. You also will who Agatha finally is.

If you ran ahead too far, you may have to drop the quest and go back through Dalaran into the Chamber and talk to Ritssyn again to get Following the Scent.

I did a double take with this quest, as this I believe is the first time I've encountered what for all intents and purposes is a gay character in the game. Levia Laurence, a female undead, is heartbroken because she learns that the succubus she believed really cared about her -- with the implied meaning being clearly romantic -- isn't even real but an illusion crafted by the Imp Mother.

Fhambar. Nice doggy. Led me into a massive fustercluck with an elite rockster and about 10,000 imps. Sort of like being in a blender on high but without the rum. Thanks, ya filthy animal!
By the way, when you finally get out of the den of thieves or whatever it's called, you're in Azsuna, so just whistle for a flight and hop on out of there.

Really odd, some toons I'll go on this and not have a single mob to fight along the path, and other times I have to fight them all. Just did it on my fury warrior and had to kill everything along the way. At least Fhambar helps. I did notice that Intimidating Shout seems to fear Fhambar - avoid using it. What really irritates me is that Levia Laurence is a mage and she doesn't even offer up a portal to get back to Archmage Modera.

You can fly over Fhambar now to avoid all the mobs until the cave...nice and easy.

I've been pushing through as a little DK in Shadowlands and she's a skull.. so i miss more than half my abilities. This is unfortunate, without the Felhound to match her level and dps her down like the imps she's almost impossible at the moment.

The imps in Dalaran and this cave as well as Agatha are hella hard on Fire as a level 52 toon. Between the two locations I died 4 times before I realized that they're all level 60 mobs. Why? Is that intended or a mistake, Blizz? Fortunately her health doesn't reset, but this is ridiculous.

For those doing this in its STILL bugged form (where level 60 imps and Agatha ruin your day) you can do the following:

1. Lie on the ground after death and wait, to get the completion on the "defend the portal" quest
2. Slowly and carefully kill the imps in the cave or corpse run past them.
3. Keep corpse running to kill Agatha - her health doesn't reset post your death so you can, eventually, wear her down

Of course, some would say you shouldn't HAVE to do this - this has been reported over and over and over I imagine and Blizz still haven't fixed it. Simple bug fix and a non-scaling mob that auto-spawns at highest level. Idiots.

Still bugged for me (Level 53 Outlaw) and she's 60 for me.

What seems t be working: Necrolord's Fleshcraft, dps as much as possible, when you get too low Kidney Shot, run away and Vanish, wait for all cooldowns to come back up. Her health doesn't reset, so you can chip away at her.

Do not Vanish when you're next to her, she will still see you thanks to the level difference!
