I looks like we keep our old Nethershards, but I don't think they count towards this 50000 we need from Broken Isle specifically. Like I said in another thread - I think this is a crazy and stupid number unless they drop like candy from RAID, DUNGEON and ELITE Bosses all over the place. This is worse than collecting those stupid stones in WoD.

As it appears now, you will only "lose" 1 Nethershard, as you gain 2499 shards as the quest reward. So, this quest is more of a check whether you have that many shards, but you don't have to "pay" them.

There is no indication where to pick up this quest. And once you have it, if the shards you already have (I have over 4,000) count towards this quest or if you have to collect 2,500 from the moment on you picked up this quest.

Who gives this quest? Just got done with champions of legionfall, and I don't see anyone on broken shore offering shard times. Am I missing something? Lol

This quest is part of the weekly series of quests leading up to the opening of the Tomb of Sargeras raid. ~~It is not available just yet, but likely~~ will be starting the week of April 18th, (assuming you have done all other quests available before this one).

I dreaded thinking of doing this quest and farming the sentinax solo because groups can be a hassle/no friends to help.

Just farm the bosses that pop up. you'll have it done within an hour if you don't already have the 2500 shards.

For those who is curious about this quest, if you've done all the quests Khadgar & Maiev gives us before this quest was added, it -should- pop up for you on the map and Khadgar will stand in Deliverance Point with this quest. I noticed it when I flew to the Broken Shore to do a World Quest and saw he had a new quest, which was this.

It's important to note that if you don't have any shards when you get this quest, the quickest way to get them is to do the 6 world quests for any legion invasion. That will give you a minimum of 1,500 shards, and often gives you many more than that. I got all 2500 from one invasion, without needing to do the final scenario.

I've done the quests prior to this and it's been 2 days, this is my 8th 110 so I know this is the next quest so... where is it Khadgar? :(

Doing this along with Defending Broken Isle would be easier but it depends on the timing of the Assaults.

I have been trying to get this quest for 3 weeks.
Archmage Kadgar doesn't have it. I am in the Broken Isles Campaign and have lost the questline for Mage.
Any Suggestions?

I was doing this quest on one of my alts and to my surprise, I didn't have enough shards!
Bosses sounded too much of a hassle and no invasions were up so what I did was fly around and loot Veiled Wyrmtongue Chests.
The drop rate says 56~ but all the boxes I opened had between 97-106 shards.
So even if you are at 0 shards, that's less than 30 boxes!

Legionfall Campaign:

***Note: It is recommended to work on the treasure finding quests the goblins south-west of Deliverance Point give you, in order for you to have eight world quests available when it comes time to complete them for step 11. The goblin's last quest isn't available until the following day/reset. Their final quest opens up the world quest Treasure Master Iks'reeged.

1. Assault on the Broken Shore (Intro Scenario)

2. Legionfall Supplies (Collect 100 order resources)

3. Aalgen Point (Visit flightplan)

4. Vengeance Point (Visit flightplan)

5. Begin Construction (Use construction table to donate Legionfall War Supplies to the construction of a building)

6. Altar of the Aegis (NOT REQUIRED!) (Accepting the quest will cause the NPCs to run away. Relogging will cause them to reappear)

7. Defending Broken Isles (Defeat a Legion invasion in the Broken Isles). If one is not available, it is recommended to continue on your class hall questline if it hasn't been completed yet. There will not be a follow-up quest to Defending Broken Isles unless you have completed your class hall campaign.

8. Champions of Legionfall (Return to your class order hall and recruit a new champion)

9. Shard Times (Collect 2500 Nethershards to give to Khadgar)

10. Mark of the Sentinax (Collect 50 Marks of the Sentinax)

11. Self-Fulfilling Prophecy (Complete 8 world quests on the Broken Shore)

12. Intolerable Infestation (Slay 50 demons in Faronaar or Felsoul Hold)

13. Relieved of Their Valuables (Find 3 Hidden Wyrmtongue Caches on the Broken Shore)

14. Take Out The Head... (Slay 3 Rare Elites on the Broken Shore)

15. Championing Our Cause (Successfully complete a Legionfall mission at your Class Order Hall) (The mission can be put in before ever accepting this quest, but do not complete/accept the rewards from the mission before accepting this quest in order to get quest credit.)

16. Strike Them Down (Slay 100 demons on the Broken Shore)

The Legionfall Campaign is then complete, and you should receive a quest from an NPC at Deliverance Point to start your class mount questline.

----The Deceiver's Downfall (Not mandatory!)
----Pillars of Creation (Not mandatory!)

The two quests listed above are definitely not required for the Legionfall Campaign (or to get your class mount).

Can confirm that Veiled Wyrmtongue Chests provide between 80-99 nethershards, so in 2020 you should be able to fly around and collect them quickly enough. I found a fair number of chests just offshore, underwater.

Tried a strategy that worked out today: I had a Legion Assault up on Highmountain, so I completed all the world quests associated with it (there were 5). That gave me most of the shards I needed for this quest. I DID NOT turn in "Assault on Highmountain" to advance to scenario beyond just doing at least 4 assault world quests.

Then after I got all my shards and legion supplies (~20 minutes or so later), I picked up Defending Broken Isles from Maiev, returned to High Mountain, and then finished the assault all the way through the scenario. That gave me the credit for Defending the Broken Shore, too.

I found it to be an efficient strategy.

If you're anything like me, you've barely touched Legion and you're trying to blast through these accursed Breaching the Tomb quests as quickly as possible in order to unlock your class mount. If that's the case, use the shards obtained in this quest to buy 3 Relinquished Armor Sets from Warmage Kath'leen, then use them on three of your followers (I'd recommend followers of different specs just to be safe). Afterwards, exit and re-enter your class hall to try to find a Broken Shore mission at your mission table. Get one started right away, BUT DO NOT COMPLETE IT WHEN IT IS DONE! These missions take anywhere from 8 hours to more than a day!

Once it's started, keep following the quests for Breaching the Tomb until you reach Championing our Cause, which requires you to complete a Broken Shore mission. Fortunately for you, you've got a mission just waiting for you to complete, so head home, complete it, and you're done!

From patch 9.1.5, Breaching the Tomb achievement becomes Account-Wide. Meaning it is only required on one character in order to unlock the class mounts quests on other alts!

HOWEVER, each character must still complete their class hall campaign, get their titles, and recruit their final order hall champion.

Description

As you have surely noticed, a slain demon leaves behind Nethershards, solidified residual energy from the Twisting Nether. I require a significant quantity of them for an experiment I'm conducting... $1oa shards, to be precise.

Why are you looking at me like that? We've had this conversation before. I did the math.

I need exactly $1oa shards. Fewer would be inadequate. More would be absurd.
