To complete the quest you have to add ingredients into the cauldron.
Wait for Warren's commands and use something he asked.
There are four ingredients on the table to use: Saltpeper, Volatile Sap, Hearthbloom and Sulfur.

If you are like me and can't find the Volatile Sap since it doesn't glow like the other three; it's the white smoking jar located between Hearthbloom and Saltpeper.

Was bugged for me, Ashton told me which ingredients to use at the same time as I failed the quest and had to start over. Will update when it's fixed.

Update: It worked when I abandoned and restarted the quest.

1. To Falconhurst!	Inquisitor - Meet Inquisitor Cleardawn outside of Falconhurst.	Inquisitor Cleardawn
2. Breaking Hag	Inquisitor Cleardawn - Kill 15 Briarwood Creatures and Witches. They are all over Falconhurst. Inquisitor Cleardawn will move to Falconhurst.	Inquisitor Cleardawn
3. Hold The Barricade!	Inquisitor Cleardawn - Speak with Inquisitor Cleardawn and defend barricades. You will need to kill Briarwood Siegebreaker.	Inquisitor Cleardawn

Bugged still or again! I got the quest and Master Ashton disappeared. Now the ! shows on the big map, but he's not here. pfft. Edited: I left the area to do another quest and he was back at the campfire. Not sure if leaving helped or now. Exiting the game did NOT help.

Good grief, somebody at Blizzard is really impressed with this particular type of gimmick quest since it's in pretty much every expansion.

Still bugged. I can get the quest, but after I tell Ashton that I am ready, he doesn't tell me which ingredients he needs, and when.
Worse still, I got killed while I was typing this.
Unless I am mistaken, I am gonna need this quest for one of the lines of achievement "Drust Do It".

My recipe was 1 part Saltpeter, then 5 parts Volatile Sap.

Would it kill them to improve the logic a little bit for these? Like after you put in two in a row of something, force it to choose a different ingredient?

I see a lot of people complaining, but could this quest be any simpler? He tells you exactly what to put in. Stand in front of the table with the ingredients, read your chat box, and click on the ingredient he tells you to put in. You have plenty of time. Hope this helps.

There are four options. From left to right: Heartbloom, Volatile Sap, Saltpeter, and Sulfur.

Just thought I would post this because it would have helped me do this quicker.

*Warren Ashton /way 25.21, 67.17 He is in Drustvar. Pick up and turn in here.
The table you need to use is right by him.

*Before you tell him you are ready, take a moment to mouse over all of the ingredients
left to right and read the nameplates for the items so you know what they are.

**Fluffnutter stated that the order from left to right was Heartbloom, Volatile Sap, Saltpepper/peter?, and Sulfur.

Description

I've been studying the parchment Lady Lucille sent with you and have translated some of the older language. They called it "Liquid Fire" and it was used to "burn away the Drust". Using this as a basis I believe we can adapt it to our needs. This is a complex recipe, but it just so happens I have everything we need to make this potent alchemical weapon! I will need your assistance in creating this. Would you be so kind as to help?
