Get this quest from the caged goblin in the Valley of the Spears. If you enter from the front of the valley, she is towards the right. You will need to clear both regular mobs and mobs that appear every so often to attack her. Bring at least one friend and it's not hard at all.

For those using coordinates, the Goblin's Cage is located at 33,53, just around the side of the tent entrance. During the escort in addition to the regular mobs in the area, 4 maulers will spawn as she approaches the first Y intersection, and 3 wranglers along with their hyena's will spawn just as she exits the mountain area.

As long as you have some crowd control or assistance it shouldn't be too difficult to clear these larger spawns, but you are not able to pre-clear them or pull singles out to even the odds out.

Friend for sure last set of mobs disarm ya 90% of the hits even as a holy pally keeping myself alive wasn't possible because of the low dmg she does

soloed 44 warrior(!) after failing initially in zerker stance. had to roll it in defensive stance with shield. took ages. the wrangler mobs tend to run away and shoot at you. i think the goblin ended up doin more dmg than i did on the last pull. 4 wranglers + 3 dogs all up.

Didn't have to much trouble with this quest as a lvl 41 Beast Mastery Hunter. Make sure to put a trap at the end of the road, under the arc. Start with a multi shot, trap, FD, let pet switch targets to get aggro, Mend pet up all the time, and i could down them one by one by Auto-Shotting. 100% health, 80% mana at the end of the fight. It's not as hard as everyone states.

37 Combat rogue, managed to distract the first big pull, but the second one just outside got me. Sapped one, but the other 5 killed her and I couldn't seem to pull them off her.

Definitely bring a friend unless youre a hunter, lock, or level 45 or so.

With a great deal of luck I managed to escort her at lvl 37 as a hunter.
First cleared all mobs near her.. then the 4 guys came. Cat sent on one Melizza on second Trapped 3rd and had 4th on me while killing 1st.
Feign Death, and have cat tank 3 and 4. Killed them and then Melizza was done killing hers...

The last patrol same idea.. but some kiting and More luck.
I wouldnt recomend doing this at 37.

You can skip the first set of 4 mobs that spawn at the first junction by clearing the single mob that stands there before you start the quest. As long as you just stick to the left side of the road, as far away of them as possible. they will not agro.

did this on a 38 warrior. Failed at the last group though. Just too many of em.

Solo'd as a lvl 37 boomkin - skipped the first spawn (see Thoaee, above), got down to one hyena in the second, died, and got back before Melizza died - completed!

You can follow her right back to the turn-in point.

Melizza Brimbuzzle says: We're going ot have to scratch the Maraudines off our list. Too hard to work with...
Melizza Brimbuzzle says: Well, I'm off to the Gelkis. They're not as dumb as the Maraudines, but they're more reasonable.

Solo'd today as a 35 hunter, but I think I lucked out on a bug:

The last pack comes at the entrance to the Valley, it is three centaurs and three dogs. I sent my pet out to aggro them then pull them back onto an explosive trap. As all hell was breaking loose I noticed that Brimbuzzle had not aggroed and was walking fast out away from the Valley, toward the Kodo graveyard.

To my pet I said "Bye Grumpy, been nice knowing ya." I Aspect of Cheetah'ed the hell out of there, following Brimbuzzle, who was running at a 130% pace. My pet died a few seconds later but I was well out of range of the centaur/dogs chasing me and home free. Followed Brimbuzzle to her brother, quest complete!

As far as the first pack of four, I basically did the tactic Cizzio describes above. Very important at low level to have some +hit for this, also blow your Cooldowns to take down the first one ASAP to give your pet a chance of surviving.

Soloed as a 36 balance druid, although it took me three tries. As with other escort quests, the most mana-efficient (but slow) method is to heal the escortee and have her tank. Let Melizza fight for as long as possible before healing her, and of course debuff her targets. Clear the path as much as possible before starting the quest, and eat/drink immediately after each fight.

Attempt 1: Died three times (!), running back each time, and got to the last pack of centaurs and hyenas before being overwhelmed. Thank goodness Melizza has a lot of health.
2: Got past the first scripted pack the way others have noted (again, clear the path ahead of time), but Melizza died early due to my carelessness.
3: Finally made it as I now knew what to expect with the last pack.

It will be difficult to avoid pulling aggro no matter what you do, but waiting as long as possible before entering each fight will definitely help with mana.

I was able to finish this one with a level 38 feral druid in bear form. I cleared about six single centaurs along the path Melizza takes before starting the escort. I only cleared the ones nearby and this actually helped me later so I could eat / drink while Melizza fought a single centaur.

Note that I had 219 herbalism so I was able to give myself a HoT while remaining in bear form for both the first group (I hadn't read up on the quest beforehand so I didn't know about Thoaee's idea to avoid them) and the last group.

In both of the group fights, I was able to roar at them then swipe repeatedly until they started to run off while I continued with the remainder. I avoided the hyenas in the last group until the centaurs were gone in order to take advantage of the reprieve afforded by fleeing centaurs. When the fleeing centaurs came back, my swiped tended to get rid of them without having to focus on them specifically.

I also needed to use regrowth and rejuvenation then switch back to bear form in both of the fights. I also used a healing touch in the first fight, near the end, but I think that was a mistake in that I was unable to get back into bear form to finish things off. I survived though and, when Melizza was occupied ahead of me with another centaur, I was able to eat / drink a bit before saving her.

I'd forgotten to switch out of my DPS gear for my stamina gear so maybe that would have made it easier and less frightening while waiting on my healing spells to go through while my health kept dropping. Even though I completed the quest, it was a very close thing. I'd really recommend having a second person with you.

There are two groups, one of four (all centars - group aggro) and then a second group of 5, 3 centars and 2 hyenas. I struggled through the first four OK as a feral druid in cat form (level 38), had to pop out for a heal mid-fight but still made it. Clearing ahead helps for sure.

For the second fight I knew it would be a bit much so I tried to kite the pack of them, AND IT WORKED! They will spawn FAR ahead of you and the NPC, and since I was a good bit ahead of the NPC, I hit dash, grabbed aggro and kept them AWAY from the NPC by running in a big circle. So long as she doesn't aggro, once she reaches the point where the pack was, she will complete the quest and run off. At this point you can simply leash the mobs and run away.

Make sure you don't just run off at the beginning, since you need to keep the NPC in range (so she doesn't vanish off your screen) until the quest completes or the quest will fail. Just do a wide enough circle so you still have the NPC on screen, but the enemy mobs are far enough away so they won't aggro. Also make sure you don't run beside the NPC, stay a good bit ahead.

If you don't have a sprint or dash ability, bring along a swiftness pot. (If you do, remember not to use a health pot in the first fight or the swiftness pot will be on cooldown) Make sure you aggro them but don't get dazed. A hunter or warlock could send in the pet to get aggro, and then send the pet off to a mob far away taking the group with it. You get the idea. Keep the mob away from her long enough for her to reach where the mob was, that's all you need to do.

In the end so long as the NPC doesn't get within aggro range of the mob, she will complete the quest and you get credit without needing to deal with them.

Oddly, I was able to accept this quest while it was in progress (halfway through someone else's escort). However, I did not receive credit at the end of the escort. I did not try to join the other person's group to see if I would receive credit though.

This has changed a little bit. I saw no hyenas at all but the last group is the hardest and I have yet to complete this quest. It wasn't much of a problem at the beginning and middle as I could handle the intermittant mobs. However, at the end there are now 6 centaurs aggroing and although I do my hardest to take them on, she always dies and it takes me awhile to finish them off while healing myself a lot. I am a 44 druid but it was too much for my bear or cat form. I will come back to this later on.

Picked this up while I was exploring the Valley of Spear on my alliance toon. At the end she runs all the way to the reward NPC and runs off again towards the Gelkis. Funny. Never learned the lesson in the first place.

The way the quest completes just as you're facing 3 centaurs. She suddenly decides she CAN actually run and f*cks off, leaving you to face them alone :)))
