This quest no longer gives any Stormwind reputation. It still gives 250 with Exodar and 10050 xp, but that's all.

I found mine at 84,39.
But I found it also at 78,35 and 79,35.

The thing you are looking at looks just like
the graves in Zul'Farrak (instance in Tanaris).
There is a quest just like this in un'Goro Crater.

It respawns ewery fiew seconds.

anyone have any problems getting the soil sample? i have the quest and i found 2 different mounds , but none of them where glowing like a quest item usually does and i could not use the mounds.

Its been awhile since anyone posted comments on this quest. It worked fine for me-found the pile of dirt sparkling just like a normal quest item at 83, 43, put the cursor on it, the little gear popped up, and a right click got me the sample.

1. The Dead Mire
• Accept the quest, The Dead Mire, from Vindicator Idaar at coords 68.2, 50.0 (Telredor).
• Travel northeast, to the Dead Mire, to coords 80.1, 41.9.
• Loot the Dead Mire Soil Sample from the Dead Mire Soil (appears as a small dirt mound).
• Travel southwest, back to Telredor, to coords 68.2, 50.0.
• Turn in the quest to Vindicator Idaar.

Description

I have lived among the anchorites of Telredor for some time, <name>, and in that time I've come to know the marsh quite well. Recently, I've started to notice a disturbing change in the land to the northeast.

Virtually all life there has begun to wither and die, seemingly without explanation. I have a few ideas as to what might be happening, but they are little more than speculation. If you were to bring me a sample of the soil in that area, I may be able to get to the bottom of this mystery.
