It's a strange thing that bombs once again cost some mats. In WotLK we had our crates full of 2x 16-20 Saronite Bombs which were extremely cheap to produce compared to those now. I thought that was how they'd like to have it in the game from then on. I'm curious where this will lead to.

Strange is also the fact that those weren't in the final cata version but included in the patch.

And last but not least engineering seems like it has less to offer than some other professions. Sooo as said already: I'm curious where this will lead to.

This, even more than the bolt gun, strikes me as something which should be req. eng 470, to keep it out of the 65-69 and 70-74 bracket.

Given the treble damage component, there are a number of scenarios in bg's where this will one-shot entire groups of 65-69, and possibly some 70-74s.

Start of WSG, wait in your flag room (stealth helps), toss this into the large group of enemies that show up. You can even use the bolt gun to help finish whoever might live off while they are stunned, then vanish and actually attack whatever is left.

Have your flag held by a well-done defensive turtle? Just sneak close enough and bomb it. Kill them all, if they are at max health.

The idea of doing this almost takes the fun away from the game. I do not see how this is a level-appropriate damage contribution to pvp at 65-74, particularly 65-69.

Do the profession designers at blizzard pvp at all, or have any idea what they have created here?

With Cata gear being available to late level 70's, and other low level balancing issues, along with RBG & arena sanctions meh...

As a tank, engineering has been quite invaluable. These bombs are worth the expense considering I can make about a half stack by the time I've done a few dailies and picked up the ore I see. I usually pull with these as a paladin tank if there is a group of 5 or more, it alleviates the need for "mage pull" "trap pull" so I guess you could see it as cc foreplay ;-)

Yes, there is a problem with 60's-70's getting one-shotted but hey, ITS BIG DADDY.

In case anyone is wondering, this bomb scales with the users level. At 90 the texts states around 19k damage done. When sent to my 70 the text says about 1k damage. So not as much damage as the saronite bomb BUT the 5 sec stun is rather nice.
