This is going to be my PvP set. Paladin nearly naked but covered in gold with a huge 2-handed Sword smashing people's faces in... such a sight can only be described as simply glorious.

I'm not even looking forward to even attempting to farm this set. Don't get me wrong, it'd look hella sweet with those Bsmithing Shoulders from Sunwell in terms of a truely "Fabulous" gearset for Female Anything (Yes, even Dwarves and Tauren )

This set (aside from the shoulders) uses the Gold variant of the "Horde C4 Plate" artwork and forms a complete six-piece set of the art.

Like many older artwork sets, there actually isn't any art for the head and shoulders. There are "Glorious" pieces for the head and shoulders but they use unrelated art. For that reason the helm was delisted, but the shoulders remain. They aren't too bad, but if you look perhaps you can find ones you like better.

There are five other colour variants of this artwork but only two appear to be available in a significant number of pieces. See:

Blue: Glorious Plate (Recolor)
Aqua (officially "Silver"): Glorious Plate (Recolor)
Red: gloves and boots: Zaxxis Gloves and Ascendant's Boots (both quest rewards)
Black: one chestpiece: Warrior's Embrace

I'm a dwarven female fury warrior pawning in the Glorious set. I kept it in my bank for 4 years cause it was so cooI that I just couldn't sell it off. I transmogrified my 85 gear to it the moment transmogs came out. TY blizzard! I'll take a screenshot and download it so you all can see! It's the best looking armor she's ever had...

Best places for Glorious
Glorious Breastplate (ilvl 61): Level 61 Mobs in Kalimdor (Ahn'Qiraj and Alcaz Island)
Glorious Headdress (ilvl 59): Level 59 Mobs in Kalimdor (Ahn'Qiraj, Alcaz Island, and Winterspring)
Glorious Legplates (ilvl 58): Level 58 Mobs in Kalimdor (None exist) - Use level 59 mobs instead. Unfortunately, chance of dropping is reduced by 50% for level 59 mobs.
Glorious Shoulder Pads (ilvl 57): Level 57 Mobs in Kalimdor (None exist) - Use level 56 mobs instead. Unfortunately, chance of dropping is reduced by ~66.67% for level 55 mobs.
Glorious Gauntlets (ilvl 56) and Glorious Sabatons (ilvl 56): Level 56 Mobs in Kalimdor (Sithilus)
Glorious Belt (ilvl 55) and Glorious Bindings (ilvl 55): Level 55 Mobs in Kalimdor (Sithilus, Un'Goro, Ahn'Qiraj, Winterspring)

The most important thing is that you are killing mobs that are the same level as the item you want. If you are killing a level 55 to get a ilvl 56 piece (or level 54 piece), the chance drops by half. If you're killing a level 55 to get a ilvl 58 piece, the chance is 1/6 of normal.

Obviously, the issue in this case becomes that there are no level 57-58 mobs in Kalimdor anymore. The best bet for the Legplates is to use level 59 mobs and just suffer through the reduced droprate. In this case, that means the 59-60 Rabid bears in Winterspring are one of the best bets along with the 59-61 Hydras on Alcaz. Additionally, the range for greens to drop from mobs is -1/+3. By that I mean that a level 59 Rabid bear is going to drop ilvl 58 up to 62. However, that means that anything level 60 and up -cannot- drop the Glorious Legplates, so if you don't want anything else, you can actually just skip looting the level 60 ones if you'd like (though it may increase the respawn time for the mob if green/blue/epic loot is left on the corpse, so meh).

I've almost farmed this entire set now : Two breastplates, two legs and the helm dropped on Alcaz Island, the belt dropped off a bug in Silithus and the Shoulders just dropped off Rex Ashil for me =) (this is the only time I remember him dropping two greens) I bought the boots for cheap at auction and now I just need the gloves. It took MANY MANY Silithus and Alcaz runs for these to drop and I've been religiously farming since I first heard x-mog was coming. UPDATE Just got the gloves from a lvl 56 bug in Silithus completing my glorious x-mog set =)

Sooo... as I said after killing rares in Silithus many, many, many times, the shoulders finally dropped off of Rex Ashil for me and that was the only time I ever remember him dropping two greens. Now today I killed Setis and he dropped http://www.wowhead.com/item=14928#dropped-by:0-2-9-8+1 this seems unlikely to be a coincidence that he also dropped two greens. So to sum up... the only time I remember rares dropping two greens in Silithus they dropped Glorious plate or the recolour, can anyone verify if this always happens?

So, I just got my full set today. I´m more than happy, because the grind you have to endure to get those is more than tedious - it´s an Eldritch abominations´childhood nightmare! It took me roughly about a YEAR(!) to complete it, so don´t even think of farming them "quickly". :(

I was able to get the Chest from Alcaz Island, as well as the legplates. All in all I spent a good 6 Weeks of daily grinding to get those two. Since there are no rare mobs on Alcaz as far as I´m aware, you´l have to make do with the Naga and Hydras. However, this wasn´t as bad as the other parts. Quite frankly, I enjoyed the grind to some extend.The respawn seems to fit quite nicely with a "clear everything, then tab out and watch a youtube video"-rotation.
Also, I was extremely lucky that a friend of mine, who was about to transfer to our realm was able to pick up gloves and wristguards in their AH just before moving for a relatively cheap price. I bought them for roughly 1k each.

Missing belt, boots and shoulder pads, I went off to Silithus - and what I had to endure there was totally beyond my imagination. Please consider this as a friendly advice, maybe a warning: You. Will. Suffer. :(

I literally spent the most of April and May farming Twilight Guys and Bugs in all of Silithus - without ANY luck. By that time, someone told me about rare mob farming, which he did with the help of NPCScan to get his set of ornate mail armor. So I reconfigured my NPCScan and farmed those rare mobs in Silithus and Un`goro Crater whenever I thought they might have respawned. I initially started farming them roughly every 7 hours or so, because I read somewhere that this was supposedly their respawn timer. I can safely say that they respawn WAY faster! I was able to get some of them about every 3-4 hours, some others about 6 hours each. King Mosh and Clutchmother Zavas (?) in Un´goro however seems to respawn less often, as well as Twilight Lord Everun. I´m still not entirely sure as to whether they have a longer respawn timer or I was just unlucky. I killed each of those rares roughly 250 times, maybe more often - I didn´t count it. I also set up a timer at roughly 5:30 minutes to catch Twilight Marauder Morna whenever she gets to fight the Cenarion Riders on the northern road. She was kind enough to reward me with the belt sometime in June. ....yes, it took THAT long just to get ONE of the three missing pieces. :(

So, driven by euphoria about having the belt drop, I continued with my route, travelling between the different Hives, clearing them (or almost), and getting back to kill Morna. However, the lack of variety proved to be pretty tedious, so I switched to a more "random" approach:
I´d still kill Morna every 5-6 Minutes, but go to Twilight Outposts or Hives or kill Stegodons in Un´goro in between. It was horribly tedious... . I had to give it a break due to exams from end of July to end of August, and I literally needed it! There was absolutely nothing left but frustration. Every bug I killed made me want to concoct a real-life bug extermination potion - I just couldn´t stand it anymore. I kid you not - this wasn´t healthy for me as a person. :-/

However, with the needed exam break to refill my spirits, I went back to farm bugs, Twilight guys, rare mobs and pretty much everything else in Silithus that crossed my path. Especially Twilight Cultists were somewhat refreshing to kill, since you can easily pull larger packs of them together and AoE loot them afterwards, which made life a little less tedious for me.
On September the 2nd I got my greaves from a pack of Hive'Zora Wasps - oddly enough, they don´t seem to be listed here. I can confirm that they, too, can drop your set pieces. :)
So, with only the Shoulder Pads missing, I had my hopes high, was in a good mood and quite confident I´d find the last missing piece within a few days. And seeing how Hive'Zora Wasps were not listed on this page I downloaded and installed the WoWhead looter a few days later, to at least contribute what little I could. I do regret that I didn´t to it earlier, but well, I cannot change that now.

So, this is where it got me almost break out in screams of frustration and agony... . farming the shoulder pads IS actually the most frustrating thing that I could ever imagine. According to MobInfo, I killed a grand total of 35000 (!) bugs, amassed over 11000 encrypted twilight texts, made roughly 10k Gold just from random grey vendor loot drops and almost lost my mind.
Don´t be fooled, dear readers, this is an endeavor that will likely leave traces in your soul. Not for any money I´d do that again. Ever!
I was asking everyone and everything who happened to be in Silithus if they´d sell me the Shoulder Pads for whichever prize they wanted. I had friends on various other servers scan the AH every now and again. Yes, I would have paid the character transfer there and back again just to get these. I was not only starting to call certain bugs by their names, I was actually beginning to feel sorry for Twilight Marauder Morna for killing her that often and started to /sorry, whenever I killed her. Also, I asked around in the trade chat whether people managed to pick these up by chance, be it while levelling, farming reputation or whatever. This last week I was in a terrible mood and started to get frustrated by almost everything. The whole grind dragged me down to levels I had not fathomed before - it´s just a game, right? Nah...

Finally, I found a guy via trade chat, who had them for quite some time and was hoping he´d get to transmogrify them at some time. However, since he had no character that wears plate armor and had seen me asking in trade chat for some weeks now, getting more desperate everytime I posted, he decided to sell them to me. I cannot possibly describe how happy I was - and still am! I bought them for 12k gold, and I had gladly paid ten times as much. However, that guy turned out to be pretty awesome and sold them for relatively cheap. Bear in mind that I was offering 50k+ in trade chat.

On a final note, and pretty much the morale of the story:
Dear fellow farmers,... you might want to consider NOT farming this set. It IS more tedious than you might imagine at the start, and I can wholeheartedly say that there is not a single ounce of fun involved. Quite the opposite. Maybe I´m just an exception, but this grind almost killed WoW for me. DO NOT DO THIS UNLESS YOU´RE SURE YOU CAN STAND IT! ;-)

On a plus side, I can say that there are only a few things a rewarding as finally getting the "full" set (I still don´t have the helmet, but I don´t care, since I won´t have it displayed anyways).

However, I cannot give you anymore insight than this, unfortunately. There really is no secret to this. Some seem to have had success with farming rares, some just by grinding. I cannot possibly say which is more effective. I can however say that apparently all of the pieces do still drop and I have no reason to believe otherwise.

I amassed a total of 3 belts, 2 gloves, 2 chests, 2 legplates, 4 wrists, 1 sabaton and 1 shoulder pad during that time. Considering how many mobs I had to kill for those, it is just not worth it. Please bear in mind that I was pretty much bound to my home 24/7 for the last months due to an unfortunate accident and had plenty of time to spend. Many people have far less time than I had.

For a good cloak, Sunscale Cloak will be a shorter cloak while Careful Coverings is a longer one.

For Sunscale cloak, you'll need to do Into the Raptor's Den in Crossroads of Northern Barrens.
Careful coverings are the quest reward from A Tale of Two Shovels in Un'goro Crater, close to Golakka Hot Springs.

As for weapons, I like Blade of Wizardry (trash mob in BC dungeons/raids, or AH) or Teebu's Blazing Longsword (low drop from classic raids, or AH) mainly because these weapons give your whole character a glow, which accentuates the golden look even more.
Or you could try farming Scimitar of the Sirocco through tol'vir archaeology digsites.

Skullflame Shield or The Fel Barrier from Nexus-Prince Shaffar in Mana-Tombs are good shields to go with the fiery sword.

One good golden 2H weapon I've found is Stormrune Edge from Steelbreaker in Ulduar.

I finally finished this set a couple days ago, and figured I'd share my experience with trying to gather up all the pieces of this Glorious set. (;

I was farming for about 8+hrs on some days for about 2 months straight to collect most of the pieces. I came across the shoulders first, which miraculously dropped off a level 56 hive'ashi mob within the first few kills. I think this is the only reason i kept going later on down the road, I'll say that now. Next came the gloves off another Silithus mob, then the breastplate off of an AQ40 mob. {I don't know which exactly, there was a cluster of dead bugs on the ground}. Then I was lucky enough to purchase the boots and belt for under 2k each.

This is the part of my story where I began to consider giving up; The Glorious Legplates.

I started out busting my ass, super hopeful and motivated, grinding for 6+ hours most days, but if I had been drinking on a particular night, I could go for at least 10 hours. I'm a farming machine, I love to farm. I didn't think anything different about the legplates, other than I knew they had a low DR, but it was something that didn't seem like such a big deal. That. Changed. I bounced between the Southern Winterspring Bears, to Silithus bugs, to the elites on Alcaz Island. Nothing. I did manage to come across another pair of Glorious Boots, about 3 Headpieces , and another breastplate. So I just sold them off and kept going. I started to get frustrated at this point. The only thing that kept me going for this long, was knowing that I already had the shoulders, which are also kind of a pain to gather, and I was telling myself that I was soo close. This was the first 6 months. For the legplates alone.

Another 6 months later, I still have no legplates, my farming time decreased to about 100 kills of each of the three locations each day, and then I eventually just gave up 3 more months later. I had almost completed the set, but the grueling drop rate on the legplates caused me to lose all hope they would ever drop. Ever. I spent 9 months in total trying to get the legplates to drop.

I read a comment on the Glorious Legplates Wowhead page that suggested The Undermine Journal. I started to just stalk the thing, telling myself that after all the time I spent farming these legplates, 50 bucks wouldn't be the end of the world to risk a transfer off and back to my server. But that's another story.

I found a pair on the website on another server listed for 7k, which was very much doable. I sent 8k to my priest, and immediately transferred the character. When she had finally landed on the new server however, the legplates had sold. I learned REAL QUICK that the update times for UJ are somewhat delayed. I was pretty choked about spending 25 dollars for no reason. A couple days later though, the wow gods sent me an angel, I swear. I checked the UJ on a random whim and lo and behold! The legplates were back on the same server, horde-side, for only 1.5k more. I sold a couple battle pets in trade chat, and managed to finally buy them. My set was complete.

The moral of my story is pretty much the same as fixedatzero's; If you think you have the patience to farm these, then good luck. Your patience will be tested, you might get frustrated, you might get lucky, you might even give up. It was extremely satisfying to FINALLY complete my set, but I wouldn't recommend it to just anyone. This set is a SERIOUS PAIN to try to gather up. You will suffer through extremely low drop rates, competition farmers for Vanguard and Lofty pieces , and as much as people recommend killing the rares to try to boost your chances, I never saw anything from them except for the same ornate pieces over and over again. Not to mention if you plan on using the Undermine Journal, you have to be quick, because the legplates and shoulders alone, I've seen go for typically 60k+, so anything under 10k will sell FAST.

All in all, it took me a little over a year to gather up all the pieces. Gorgeous set. Painful grind. Was it worth it though? Absolutly. Not to mention that while you farm for these, you'll come across quite a few other high-selling transmog pieces that fetch you a pretty penny.

As it stands right now, there are only 2 other people that I've seen who have this set on my server. It's fairly unique, and people defiantly stop and stare.

So I set my eyes on this set last week to complete my mog look. Here's what my char looks like now

But the journey was quite rough for the legplates. I bought the boots and the gloves off the ah. The chest and belt dropped for me. As for the legs...good god..I spent 4 whole days farming alcaz, winterspring and aq20...still nothing. I was growing desperate and my server was selling the legs for 78k - ridiculous in my opinion.Then the unbelievable happened.

While checking out wowuction.com, I found a pair selling on Saurfang for 10g...10 frikin g...I created a toon there, bought it off, leveled him to 10 and transferred him to my current server. To be honest guys, Don't waste your time farming them. It's really not worth the time. I hated it. Your best bet is to either pay the auction house price on your server (again, that means farming a lot) or stalk other servers to see what deal you can pick up. In my situation i was ridiculously lucky. Anything higher that that and id have had to transfer one of my chars there and back.

As for the best place to get the rest of the set, (and the legs too, on paper) I'd recommend AQ 20 trash. Follow this guy's guide for that.

Got my full set in 4 days :D I don't know if i was lucky but i spent 15 hours a day farming the feeders in AQ10. felt like it took around 150 resets or so.

My advice for those who want to go for this set, get it off the AH if you can. I farmed this set for months and only ever had the belt and breastplate drop. It is probably more productive to farm some gold and buy it that way.

Also I recommend using Dazzling Longsword and Sunward Crest on a pally tank, they go well with the set.

For 2h weapons I recommend using Gallant Flamberge, Hammer of the Grand Crusader or Greatmace of the Order, or for the hardcore gold farmers Chromatic Sword
