ugh. Please don't do this Blizzard.
Horrible changes, limiting pet specs. This is GOING BACKWARDS, I absolutely HATE it.
This gonna be a long comment just to weigh in because there's no way I can access the alpha forums to leave feedback before it goes live. This is the only outlet I can think of.This is a step backwards, not a step forwards. I see the intention they're going for by adding more reasons to go out and tame new hunter families. Also, I think they were trying to make hunters feel like they were bringing unique utility because each hunter has the chance of bringing in different pets. - The problem is that these things are forced through limiting the player's choices. Sooner or later I can see the choices being whittled down even further by people crunching the numbers for the metagame of which pets do the most. Not to mention that the cunning spec is only used for the very small percentage of the community who does player vs player and all hunter players would be forced to pick and choose between pvp and non-pvp families.Warcraft is a roleplaying game, and if a person cant choose the pet they want to play out their fantasy as a hunter, its a bad choice.
I don't like this at all.
All the haters can just zip it! The pets NEED to have this! Pets currently on legion have no personality what so ever.
#SaveHati
Super unimpressed with these changes. I love been able to (mostly) take what ever pet I want for what ever I happen to be doing.I'm salty enough about losing Hati.
I like this change so far because I'm usually stuck with either a lust or brez pet. Now I have more options for my lust pet other than a core hound or nether ray. I do agree that a few of the pairings seem off, but this is alpha so it's subject to change a lot in the coming months.
Altogether the revamp of pet specs / abilities seems very good to me, but
Stupid change! I want my Yogie bear to be able to DPS.
So they're going to screw up us wanting to use a pet for its APPEARANCE by forcing us to choose another if we want that spec? I get they're trying to replicate vanilla in some things, but this one is just ridiculous. As a Hunter you seek out a pet for how it looks and because you collect them, there shouldn't be a limit. What if I want a Bear but I don't want it to Tank because the group I'm in rages at it? This doesn't make sense. There is a reason why Cata changed it to how it is on Legion.Like some of us say: If its not broken, don't try to fix it.
oh dear god not this f**ken sh*t again. so no extra slots and having our pets reverted to cata talents. when you think blizz couldnt go any more "full retard" one of the devs say "oh wait hold my beer...."
I love this
If what wordup says is true, and that all pet dps (and assumedly survivability outside specific family abilites) is now the same, I can only see this as a good thing. It means you actually have many more options for bringing in vital utility rather than a couple of families and your dps doesn't suffer for it
I need clarification. While at first I reacted badly to this because I spent a lot of time getting all my pets and being able to change the spec meant I could play whichever pet I liked, the more I think about it the more reasonable it seems. I don't mind too much having to switch a ferocity for a tenacity now and then, I have pets from every spec that I like but spirit beasts to tank pets is a bit upsetting. Herein lies the need for clarification.People are saying that no matter what spec your pet is, it will do the same dps? So a ferocity pet will do the same dps as a tank pet? The only difference is ferocity will leech and the tenacity will increase health? Then does it really matter what pet you use since it's the same dps and you would only switch it out for the utility when needed? Such as brez, lust, etc? That's not so bad then.I do hope BM only pets still have an extra attack or utility to make them worthwhile... or let us keep 2 pets... please?
ANYONE who's saying "all pet families do same damage, it doesn't matter what pet you bring just for utility". Did they miss the part where Ferocity family gets ? Predator's Thirst - You and your pet gain 3% Leech.Don't be THAT hunter and ignore a major change. 3% Leech is pure DPS increase, NOT MATTER how you look at it.
April 1st is a long ways away, so this joke is horribly misplaced. I personally don't care; I'll continue using whatever the hell I want to use regardless of the buffs. Though I don't care, I still think this is incredibly stupid and a total waste of their resources and time. I'd rather have another Celestial Tournament than this.
