This (or possibly one of the other 2) is the viseclaw boss mob for the Alliance and Horde dailies new in patch 5.1. You capture one by buying a quest starting item for 30 of the tokens looted from mobs or rewarded for PvP combat in those areas (Dominance Point Commission for Alliance players, Lion's Landing Commission for Horde players.) After doing a quest to collect fish from Unga Villagers you capture it and have the option to fight it by talking to the npc you turn the quest into.

He has a fixate and 99 stacks of a buff that reduces damage taken by 1% per stack. As the fixated player kites, his stacks of the damage reduction buff goes down. Simply put, he fixates a player and that player kites, if the crab reaches the player he'll very quickly return to 99% reduced damage taken.

I was able to solo this one as a Warlock, I was not able to solo any of the others. When being killed alone (possibly with others though less noticeable) he gets an occasional 5% heal, but with proper execution his stacks will continue to drop and with a decent gear level you will start to make ground against the heal and eventually kill it.

After killing the colossal viceclaw, you will receive the quest A Colossal Victory which gives the standard daily rewards and the buff Presence of the Crab.

Just soloed this stupid crab on a Blood DK. I didn't check to see what its abilities were so it took 15-20 mins. I would HIGHLY recommend that you bring at least 1 more person with you, probably best with 2 ranged.

On a side note, Unholy would probably be easy as well, or maybe a Hunter.

Soloable as an elemental shaman...Just make sure you slow him and kite him and use your cooldowns when available....Frost shock makes him move extremely slow during fixate so you can walk backwards and hit lightning bolt (assuming you're glyphed for Glyph of Unleashed Lightning. If you manage to back yourself into a corner you can use whatever defensive cooldown you have and ghost wolf through him just make sure that you get a good distance away and slow him to keep him out of melee range.

I have a feeling his damage absorb is bugged, because even though it's mostly at 90+ stacks, he still takes huge amounts of damage. Especially noticeable when people keep stunning him, and he still goes down in health rapidly.

I managed to solo this guy as an enhancement shaman. He doesn't move very fast baseline, so I simply kept my Searing Totem and Earthbind totem down. I used my Ascendance whenever it came off cooldown, along with my Fire Elemental to push out more damage. When he was at about five stacks in I'd run and and hit him with a Stormstrike and Lava Lash while he paused and recharged his stacks back up to 40- him doing this gave me about three seconds of DPS time. While time consuming, its good to know you can solo him if you can't find people willing to help you.

Easy hunter solo. Ice trap him in the center ring, and just run around the edge of the ring. Keep dropping ice traps and fire the occasional scatter shot and concussion shot. Crab kills pets pretty quickly, so you will not be relying on them during this solo attempt.
Takes about 7-8 eight minutes.

Not too difficult to solo as a shadow priest. Take Body and Soul for the shield sprints every 15 seconds and kite the crab around the edge of the arena. Keep Shadow Word: Pain up at all times, since it's instant and doesn't require facing. Whenever you have some distance (it moves slowly) or it stops to do its heal, get Vampiric Touch up and turn and hit it with Mind Blast. FDCL and Divine Insight are great talents for this fight, giving you some instants to turn and hit it with before running again. Save the first Shadowfiend/Mindbender until his stacks are down and then use it on cooldown. Once he gets into execute range, it becomes quicker thanks to Shadow Word: Death.

Use Inner Fire. Inner Will seems natural for the movement speed increase, but you can stay ahead of him even at normal running speed (and Body and Soul gives you a gap-creator at need) and it's nice to have your DoTs doing more damage as you move. If you're going to eat food, use mastery food to power your DoTs a bit more.

Takes a little while, but nothing too terribly long.

Easy solo as a destro lock (I imagine any spec could easily do it). Just spec into and kite him around. It really is that simple. You might get hit once or twice but his baseline speed is so slow you'll outrun him again.

It was made even simpler by using Conflagrate with Immolate, the snare from conflag made it impossible for him to catch up with me.

If you're looking for one of the three daily mobs to kill, this is the one!

This guy is easily soloed by a rogue using Shuriken Toss and Deadly Throw. Stand right on him then open with a Cheap Shot, Shuriken Toss til the cows come home, kite, kite, and kite, then Deadly Throw, repeat. Eventually he dies. Throw in a Blind then Kidney Shot and use any melee bursts briefly here and there if you'd like, though his armor will stack back up quick when he is stunned and you will die if he wakes up and you stick around too long.

Easy to solo as a melee if you are able to heal yourself, you just have to run around him, and dps him down. He'll try to 'follow' you, that means he'll spin around to face you and the debuff will slowly fade.

I turned in the quest for this and that was it. No fight option, nothing.
