If I was still playing, I might create a Worgen alt. Mainly because the worgen look badass and I like the way they walk.
I'll be leveling my 80 Druid for sure as well as my 80 Paladin on the side. I don't expect I want to play a Goblin at 80 because I love my druid and my paladin and Goblins can't be either. On top of that, Goblins will always be there. After I get 85 I'll go roll a Goblin just to experience their epic starting zone and such. Getting left behind on hitting the cap will set you back on raiding which is the biggest reason I still play.
List:1. Level to 85.2. Make my new dwarf shaman.3. Worgen warrior.4. Goblin rogue.5. Bore
First thing: Explore the new world with my 80 DK. That should take a few hours. Then, take my DK to a new area and begin leveling him to 85. Once that is done, I am going to roll a Worgen for sure. I am faithful to the Alliance and always will be.
First off, I'm going to make so much money when the Cataclysm comes, that it'll look like it affected my bank book as well.To be honest, I haven't really decided for sure what to do. I would love to see new content as soon as possible, since I haven't made it into the Beta. So, leveling one of my 80's would make sense. The thing is, as all the past expansions have shown me, I never tend to follow what I set out to do. It's pretty unlikely that I'll level to 85, stay at a current level of gear, and then continue as the patches drop and release further content.More than likely, I'm going to make alts, and play them. I've been dreaming of playing a Dwarf Shaman, Worgen & Troll Druids, and even a Blood Elf Warrior. At first, I wasn't going to level an alt, but I've decided, with all of the changes to old zones and the revamping of most quests, it will be a new experience. So, it comes down to, 'What to make and level first?' I'll likely go for leveling the Worgen Druid to be honest. I play Horde and haven't leveled an Alliance character past maybe 20 ever. Shaman level a bit slower than Druids, so I'm gonna play the new race, on a new (to me) faction, at a pretty decent rate. Combined with my (will be old) heirloom gear and hopefully the bonuses of the new sets coming, I'll hope to have my first higher-leveled Alliance alt within weeks of release.
<The Stoppable Force> (Azjol-Nerub: Horde) won the guild essay contest and now our guild is slowly making it's way through the beta. After some thought, I came to the conclusion that it would be wise to WAIT to level a new toon, in favor of leveling a main. Here is what I posted on our guild forums to illustrate my process of thought:------Why you should wait to level a new toon when Cataclysm goes live.I know what you are all saying. 'Seriously, Fizz? Goblins are so awesome, you've even said it yourself that Goblins are better than sliced bread with a healthy garnish of hundred dollar bills, why should I wait to experience the awesome that is a new goblin (or Tauren Paladin, Or Troll Druid, etc...)?'My logic, as always, is tempered with the experience of leveling toons and the forethought of Guildmastery (not !@#$%^baggery, that comes later). Below, I will list some of the reasons why you should instead focus on leveling your "main" first.Guild Levels and their associated perks: More specifically, the Guild Perk: Fast Track (Rank 2) which is obtained at Guild Level 5. It is obvious that EVERYONE in the guild would benefit from this, if this perk is in place before you start leveling a new toon, you'll get more XP that much faster. Additionally, leveling your main first will generate reputation for that toon within the guild, which is required to buy the new Heirloom Items.Heirloom Items: Two new heirloom slots (Helmet and Cloak) become available to guild members for purchase at a certain guild reputation level (I would assume Honored or Revered, when it is implemented). These two items give an extra 15% XP (10% for the helmet and 5% for the cloak), which, if you are doing your math means that you can cap out at getting an additional +50% XP for kills and quest turnins.Breakdown:Helm, Chest, Shoulders: 10% each (30% total)Cloak, Ring* 5% each (10% total)Fast Track (Rank 2) 10%(*) The Dread Pirate Ring is only obtainable during the fishing derby, and is sickeningly frustratingly nigh-impossible to obtain.Leveling my Goblin with SEVEN heirlooms (don't forget that you have up to two trinkets and weapons) has put the leveling experience into a new class all it's own. Not only do you gain the benefit of increase XP gain, but you are constantly wearing "best-in-slot" gear that gives you an insane edge in combat. I frequently run around with my priest, dotting up 3 to 8 mobs at a time, and then blasting the crap out of them, warlock style. I hit level 20 in 7 hours /played, I assume it would have been much faster had it not been for Town-In-A-Box, and faster yet with an extra +10% from Fast Track (Rank 2). Needless to say, being that powerful at such a low level, is insanely fun.Guild Runs: Leveling that main first will also allow us the flexibility to run the new high level content, as we all are itching to do without pugging. The 'without pugging' part is very important for guild experience and guild reputation, since a group content must comprise of 80% guild members (4 out of 5) for the content to generate guild rep/xp. If we have a large group of 85 mains running around, those who do not want to run 5-man content (note, I did not say 10-man, I want to EASE into that when we are ready for it) are free to do what they like, while those who do want to run are able to help the guild progress even higher into the perk system.Of course, this is just advice. I'm not here to tell you how to play, I'm just weighing out the rewards we all would gain be taking things in a certain order. As always, I welcome your comments, opinions and feedback.
I want to level my Human Warrior up to 85, then level my Death Knight to 85, and change my Death Knight to Worgen(He's a dwarf).
If you are having fun, then the time is not wasted. If you are not having fun, you should consider different entertainment venues.
My number one priority come Cataclysm will be leveling my Druid in order to raid with my guild. As much as I can't wait to roll my Goblin, my priority has to be on the Druid. Unfortunately, I'll have to keep him Resto, since I'm one of the only Resto Druids my guild has (and THE only really good, reliable one), otherwise I would be leveling my Priest up to be my new raiding character. -_-After the Druid, it will either be the Priest or start on the Worgen. I may work on both simultaneously. Currently, on Moon Guard, I have 18 characters on 2 accounts, though about half or so of those are ones I'm not really doing much with. Come Cata, I'll be adding two Worgen to that (one on each of my accounts). So I'll be a busy, busy little bee. :3 (I would be a busy tree, but they're taking that away from me. >:( I will NEVER be okay with my precious Tree of Life form being removed!)
I'ma level my main first and foremost, simple as that, I've invested waaaay too much time on it, nurtured it, it's "a digital proyection of my medieval self" and I dont plan on trowing that away.i do plan on making both a worgen and a goblin, but those will be alts, secondary to my main, and if I like the goblin's animation, racials, voices and all (and so far I do) I'll just race-change my main into a goblin (the beuty of being a DK xD I can change into every race in the game)my agenda is to level my DK, do all the new 5 zones, get to 85, and then do ALL of the raids released at launch, because if there's a lesson I learned in wow is this.Rule 24 of wow: when a new major patch is released, all raids prior to that will be left in the dust, forgotten and never to be done again.I was too busy leveling when Naxx, OS, and EoE were the hot stuff, and as a result I never did those, ditto for Ulduar, was busy leveling a shammy when that was the hottest raid, by the time both my toons were 80, and ready for raids, ToTC was out, and ulduar as well as all the raids that came before it, were forgotten.I don't plan on making that mistake in cataclysm, I'm gonna level my DK (in no rush I plan to enjoy the content) get to the level cap, gear up for raids, do the raids, and when I've completed all the initial raids at least ONCE, (and by complete I don't mean get the stuff I need, I mean kill every single boss, maybe even the optional ones) THEN I'll focus on leveling a rather long list of alts.it's gonna be a LOOONG time to wait for patch 4.1 that will bring the new raid, in that time I can level as many alts as needed, but when 4.1 is out, I'll stop leveling the alts, and again, do the new 5man, do the new raid, and when that's completed, then I return to level alts while I wait for 4.2.Rinse&Repeat for every patch.List of alts planned:Worgen Male WarriorGnome Female PriestGoblin Female RogueTauren Female PaladinTroll Male DruidHuman Male HunterDwarf Female WarlockNight elf Female Magesince my mains are an Orc Shaman and an Elven DK (this will also let me have 1 toon of each class, and 1 of each race minus forsakens and draenei, and 5/5 for alliance/horde)it's a well scheduled plan, :Dgear-wise I only plan on gearing up my main, when the alts get to 85 they will most likely rot to death xD (well that's not true, i may use and abuse of that rogue on rated BG's)
This thread is kinda silly... it has nothing to do with Cata news, and everyone is essentially going to do the same thing - whatever the @&*% they want to.Obviously, the first thing anyone in a raiding guild is going to do is level at least one of their 80's to 85 to be ready for new raid content. Other than that, your options are: Explore/Quest, level yet another alt (Worgen or Goblin most likely), mess around with Archaeology and/or work on recapping skills, or try out the new pvp system. Orrrr any combination of the above when whichever you're currently doing loses interest for you.I wouldn't consider this relevant enough to be listed with the other Cataclysm news blogs, but it's obviously generating enough responses to keep the excitement going for Cata, so kudos!

Ohh mah gosh, this is such a difficult desicion, I want to race switch my character to a gnome priest first of all, hit level 85, then explore EVERYTHING! then I'd make a Goblin female for her dance only. man so many possibilites!
I'm going straight to Hyjal and the other new zones to quest once Cata hits on my paladin main. Maybe do a few dungeons or fly around and see the new Azeroth after that. There's just tons of other things to do on my paladin. My other chars are second priority.
Neither.Dwarf shaman, man. It's all about the dwarf shaman.
Im gonna level my shammy to 85 first to try for a server first and prepare for whatever the first raids are, then gonna level my new chars (Holy Gnome Pristess, Beast Master Worgon, and either a loc(demo) or war(fury/prot) Goblin.
