80s first, get achivements and the nalts, for a dps, its not possible to raid on my server without 6k gs and achivements. And the same goes for guilds... so get those damn achivements and then get the fun
I'm in an end game raiding guild, so first priority is to get my shaman leveled to 85 and geared up enough to start raiding. Then once the opening massive gear rush has calmed a bit I'll most definitely be making a Goblin and a Worgen (what I don't know yet). The Goblin start area looks like it's going to be the most insanely fun thing ever put into WoW. And being a total lore nut - I'll have to make a Worgen.
Power my way through the zones on my warrior to 85 then check out a goblin shammy or worgen priest. Mostly because I think that the zones 92% of the servers population will be leveling through will have less bugs than the new starting zones. Banking on them being fixed by that point >.>
Im going to get 85 on my rogue, so i can make raids(if i ever have any...) and do some of the new 5 mans. After im going to level a goblin, im not sure which class yet
Im gonna give my hunter, my dk and my new paladin a extended vacation (i think im gonna park them all in Brill, at the Inn). and focus only on my main, my Orc warrior, level up, experience all the content, explore, farm dungeons, farm rep, hopefully start raiding two-three months after the release.I also have a "secret" scheme to try and get the timeless proto-drake when everyones busy with the new 80 zones:)The goblin starter zone doesnt seem like my cup of tea, but i think im gonna try a worgen and retire it after the starting zone.
Theres probably gonna be loads of kids makeing new characters when cata comes out, and new players too, so the starting areas are probably gonna be packed with arguments over mobs xDSo I'm gonna concentrate on my Kitty drood, getting her up to 85.atleast untill the starting fever has warn off :P and the starting areas clear up a bit :)
Hmm, in TBC and WOTLK i just lvled my main Warrior fast as i can..But when i reach the 70-80 it was fail to see ALOTS of people is still trying to reach 70-80 lvls.. it was realy hard to find people to do 80Heroics (Thanks to new LFG system for now)if you want to be with Hardcore players reach the Max lvl fast as you can and find a good guild and start the progress.. in your Free times you can go for your Goblin / Worgen..i dont know about you but 60-70 // 70-80 took 7-8 days to hit for me and probably its gona take same for 80-85 after 9 day (worst) you gona have a LOOOTS of Time when u got your epicks from HC's since blizzard not relaseing raids fast as they opened the Expensions ( Example : Nax - Ulduar- Totc - and finaly icc ) as i said its better to lvl new Char in your free times.. ( i made 80 Hunter , Priest , Dk , Pally, Druid in that Free Times )Sry for my Bad grammer
In my case, I have so many different 80s at this point, I'll have to be picky with who I get up in level first. With Tauren Paladins coming around, I'm gonna race change my Belf the first chance I'm allowed to, and then after that I'm gonna level him, my DK, and then my Mage to 85, most likely. Probably in between all of this, I'm gonna work on a Worgen of some type. I have no interest in being a Goblin(yay, our own personal Gnomes! Woo.), so the big fuzzies get my nod.
Wow. So much QQing about this. There is nothing wrong with having a discussion about Cataclysm, guys. It's been an interesting read, even if some people didn't quite answer the question. To answer the bolded question, I want to level my 80 first. As awesome as goblins and worgen are, my 80 Warrior is my main, and I have put a lot of time and effort into her. I have played her over four times as long as all my other characters combined; a huge feat when you consider my altoholism. She is my pride and joy, and the only 80 I had for nearly the entirety of the year I've been playing. Which leads to the second question. I believe that's the most important: your main, your identity in our virtual world. This is even coming from someone with no raid obligations. I am incredibly happy in my RP guild, discussing Lore and building characters. This is probably part of my attachment to Aal; she's one of the best characters I've made in my decade of RPing. But I'm sure you guys are bored with my blathering :)After attempting to get Realm First to satisfy my achievement need (which I probably won't get, because I'm too much of a lore nerd and I want to be able to read and enjoy my questing), I'll dabble in my various Cata-alts (Nelf Mage, Worgen Rogue, Gnome Priest, Tauren Paladin <3) while probably still mostly messing on my main. Gotta get my guild leveled up, after all, get exalted with them, and get dungeon and raid achievements, as well as Loremaster for a second time...I'll shut up now.
I'll probably end up becoming a casual player when cata comes out With work, school, and married life consuming most of my free time, end game raiding will have to take the back seat and i'll most likely lvl alts.Worgen Warrior and Goblin Shaman will most likely be my choices.
Getting to level 80-85 then pawning lowbie horde goblins trying to level. We all know they made our levelling process hard with their constant ganking (in early TBC days for me). So I'll just be there to return the favour on their goblin toons.
When I read the first line of this post and came to "I remember feeling rushed to level my paladin to the level cap before it was raised," the question that came to mind was "Why?". I read through until the end and there was no answer to that. Instead the post ends with two questions, "do you want to level your 80s, or do you want to level a Goblin or Worgen? What do you think is more important to accomplish first?"You may disagree MasterOfDisguise, but your questions lack Option Three... "Or, do you want to do something else?" I think you need to re-examine your post. You've felt pressure to do something, then regretted what you missed after you did it. Then you reconsidered past actions but don't know if doing something in a different way will result in satisfaction. This is all concerning what to do in a game. The ending leads me to believe you've not discovered that spending time on something that burns you out or turns into regret isn't fun and therefore isn't accomplishing the goal it is set out to do (which is to deliver entertainment).I simply believe that one should do what is fun at the moment. When I look at the game I see the end result of a company that put effort into giving me a variety of things to do. I can work on professions to make money and buy things from other players, or make/join a guild to socialize and go after common goals, or PvP, or quest, and so on. It needs to be put into that perspective. The game evolves over time because Blizzard is pressured to keep it engaging. The timetable for that evolution has to accelerate only for those who live on it. But paradoxically those who live on it most say they lose the fun factor or get 'burned out'. They play it too much too quickly. In a wider view improvement would come to both player and Blizzard if it wasn't condensed, by the player, into goals that have to be met on a timetable.Ask instead "What will I get most out of at the moment?". I predict that I will not level a new race at the beginning. I remember when the Draenei and Blood Elf zones were completely overridden with people on my server at the start of The Burning Crusade. I also predict that I will use my main character since I like that one the most. I'm excited, but not driven. So my predictions are just that... predictions. I may find that there's an item that I would love to get but will cost me a zillion gold, so off to early AH speculating I go. Or there's a tradeskill that will have something great in it, so off to skilling up I go. Or, archaeology is better than I anticipate. Or, I may really get into leveling my guild which means inspiring my members. Or, maybe Worgen are just THAT much fun...Who knows? The one temptation I highly recommend resisting is the "I have to do X first in one week". Unless you specifically want that world-first Feat of Strength you've had your eye on since Wrath of the Lich King came out, you're running the risk of rushing through something and getting a fraction of the delight Blizzard inteded to give you.
