To be able to see the Seething Cache (Seething Cache) and loot the Seething Slug you'll need to pick up 3x stacks of a Insidious Insight debuff from Seething Orbs located in the Zaqali Caldera area in Zaralek Cavern.

There might be more locations for these Orbs, I personally found it helpful to die and fly around as a spirit to find them. For me the Orbs were located here:

When you get your third stack, you'll see a "You hear a dark hiss from the northern shrine..." system message. So head there, and interact with the now visible Seething Cache (Seething Cache) to get your Seething Slug.
Looting the Cache flags Hidden Quest complete for the whole account, so other characters won't see any Orbs.

These Seething Orb seem to have a one-hour respawn time from the moment that they are first used.

I picked up one orb & couldn't find another during the one-hour buff window. I sat on the exact spawn point for the orb that I had picked up one-hour prior & literally the second my debuff disappeared the exact same orb spawned in the exact same spot.

The debuff (Insidious Insight) lasts for one-hour (1 hr.), so once an orb is clicked / used it seems to respawn after exactly one-hour.

Update: I can also confirm that if you click / use a Seething Orb, then refresh your debuff by clicking / using another orb, the first orb you clicked / used will still respawn after one-hour allowing you to click it again for three stacks of the Insidious Insight debuff!

I can't confirm if the one-hour spawn time is still the case once the chest actually gets opened. There are way too many people flying around trying to collect these orbs with both WM off & WM on for my realm. Everyone is flying around with one buff from an orb, each at varying durations.
(Orbs still seem to be respawning one-hour after being clicked / used regardless of whether the chest is up or not. Needs further testing to confirm!)

Note: If you are farming these orbs, then you should also be looking at the duration of other peoples Insidious Insight debuff as once it expires one of the orbs should spawn somewhere!

I looked around for more but I found more people running around with 1 stack of the debuff than anything else. Probably best to try for this one when there's less people around.

I can also confirm Chrysippus's information about the orb respawning an hour after clicking it because that it what happened to mine.

Now they have changed it so debuff gets removed when someone loots the chest. Got an emote saying "The whispers of the magma subside for now.", and then my 2 stacks got removed.

Confirmed, is in patch notes.

This needs to be changed to a personal farm, with the chest available all the time.

had 2 out of 3 orbs clicked, ran around for over 30 minutes looking for the last one, only for someone else to get it and instantly lost all of my progress.. why the $%^& is this shared for the whole zone? absolutely baffling

Me and a lot of other people on my shard had 2 stacks for about an hour and couldn't find the last one. At some point I got a whisper saying "Something whispers to you from the magma" so I decided to check all the spots again and the 3rd one had spawned. Unsure if the whisper is related but it sounds similar to the whisper you get when someone finds all 3.

DAILY RESET NOW WIPES THE DEBUFF
Do not do early morning hunting unless you're 100% sure you'll do it before reset!

I just lost my two stacks due to reset. I'm not sure if this is intended. This could quite possibly be a daily mount competition. Unlike the shard hunt in Legion/Azsuna, where it was once a week and daily reset did not effect the buff accumulation. Will update once my ticket is resolved.

Found an orb

Additional info: I saw a message about whispers from the magma, swapped to main and I found all 3 orbs within about 30 minutes, I think they might spawn at different intervals as my second orb I had checked the spot a few times, although I could easily just classify that as being blind.

I have been flying for 4 hours with two stacks and they suddenly disappeared. I was still in the location, no logout, no death. Passing this #&$Ł until the location frees-up and I won't compete with other mount hunters.

There is one hidden behind a tower at /way 35.45 41.00. Me and my mates checked all the known spawn locations for the orb and found one behind the tower. GL HF !

What best worked for me, its to very early farming in the morning with the server reset time.

And use server hop like nonstop ( you wont loose the charges )

Either Bliz increased the spawn rate or I got very lucky. I found three orbs within 7 min or so. Yes, while doing an event in that area, I had a message "Something whispers to you from the magma". I think this means you need to start searching for the orbs. A week before, I spent three hours there and found only one orb.

Here's a little timeline of my experience so far: at 14:16 in the afternoon, I came out of Solo Shuffle to the event being up, found two orbs before twenty five minutes later, someone else opened the cache. After that point, I stayed in the Caldera. At 19:18, a new orb finally appears, so I remain in the Caldera to try and find more. At 21:20, no new orbs have appeared at any of the known spawnpoints. This is without a doubt the worst mount obtaining experience I've ever had in this game.

22:14, a second orb shows up, leaving me at two stacks of the debuff. Oddly enough, the original orb's debuff has not disappeared at any point since being obtained. 22:25, a druid shows up and seemingly manages to loot the orbs I had already looted, meaning they do not disappear for other players after being looted. 22:47, the damned druid got it. TL:DR, there's not even a reason to try and camp for it, because it won't do you any good.

Getting it the next morning still took 4 hours. In other words, this entire Easter style egg hunt has an absurd progression time that is absolutely irresponsible by Blizzard. The huge luck portion of the race, combined with the respawn time on each orb means that for every one person getting the mount, there's probably going to be several who wastes a lot of time, that could've been spent on enjoying themselves or contributing to society. Hence, Blizzard can cordially go $%^& themselves, as usual.

I got mine today using several tips on here. Do yourself a favor and search for your orbs in death. You can still see them, you won't get shot down, and you don't have to fight any mobs. I used the markers from HandyNotes as well as the list of coordinates that Arnathon compiled in one post. Some of these coordinates were not indicated by Handy Notes. I found the first two orbs in death, rezzed and picked them up. Died again and flew around checking spawn points for about 15-20 minutes until my third orb spawned. I started my search early morning about 5 am CST on a Sunday on my low pop server. Good luck!

Thought I should give a try with an alter, to check the reality, and in fact, took me about 15 min to get 3 Seething Orbs, and open the Cache.

Did in 30 minutes on an extremely high pop server. In warmode, though I am not sure it mattered.

I server hopped 5 times but every single server had no orbs up. Each time I came back to my server I was able to find one.

Tip: instead of using these tom tom points everyone is giving, download rarescanner and use guidance for this treasure. It will show you the spawn of every orb and also not disappear when you get close to it lol.

Thankfully managed to get all 3 within ~30min.. Managed to do it during afternoon hours too!
Got the first 2 within minutes of each other. The 3rd one took a bit and I had to server hop a few times to find it!

Okay some more in-depth information for everyone. The 1 hour timer is ONLY if the Chest has not been claimed. Once the chest has been claimed you have to wait for the "event" to reset. No idea on length of reset at this time, will update if I find out. The time to It will reset your stacks even if you are in the same GROUP as the person who loots the chest, which is dumb. HandyNotes: DragonFlight has all the updated waypoints if you click on the treasure in your map they will be highlighted on your minimap. I was able to get mine easily but waiting on the reset of the even for my wife. Happy hunting all.

Okay Update waited around in the Cavern (same shard) for about 2.5 hours before they respawned. So I'm guessing the timer is either 2 or 2.5 hours from time of chest claim to respawn of orbs.

For those that are looking to just copy/paste the waypoints into a macro, use this. There is no reason to add "seething orb" to every waypoint. Also, I found flying around as a dead gnome harder to spot orbs. Just manage your Vigor and you should be ok. Just never dismount. Cheers!

These orbs are much smaller than I thought after seeing the screenshot. They are like 1/4 of the other orbs feks on mobs or the world quest ones, so I have prolly gone by them many times before realizing it today. Found 3 and went for the cache, mount and achievement! (-:

If you've finished Dragon Isles Pathfinder, you can currently fly around on a regular flying mount and the "shoot you out of the sky" debuff won't be applied. Might be an oversight.

Pro tip: Normal flying does not give you the Djaradin debuff that shoots you down. Get the pathfinder achieve if you dont have it and profit.

Before you start farming Seething Orb, make sure to switch into War Mode. After farming for about three hours, I found three of them back-to-back in about one minute between each other. This might be pure luck I don't know. Here are the coordinates:

These things are NOT /tar targetable, so unfortunately, War Mode or not, you can't just spam a macro to target them as you fly around on your normal mount after you get pathfinder.

I don't know if it's just a coincidence, but after flying around for hours unsuccessfully, I randomly decided to complete the world quest that was up in the middle of the zone : "Roiling Shadow". Right after completing it, I found my two first orbs in a 3min span.
Still looking for the third one tho!

I have been checking this daily since 11/25/23.; I found one orb that day, but then somebody else found three and claimed the chest. Fine. I have not seen any orbs at all since, which has now been for over three months. I have tried with War Mode On and Off. It strikes me as incredibly unlikely that I would never see any orbs at all. Has somebody else claimed this chest before I can find any orbs every day for over 90 days? What am I missing?

Yesterday, right in the afternoon I hopped on, turned in War Mode, and found 3 orbs within 4 minutes of each other and got it done. I was about to plan an overnighter, so this was awesome to get after months of looking, and of course the last item on the meta achievement.

This is an insanely restrictive achievement and is probably going to be the only thing holding a lot of us back from getting the DF meta achievement. I was trying to do this on late nights before the meta achievement patch even dropped and never found more than 2, and now everyone's scrambling to get it again. Really not a great feeling at all.

Just wanted to say from the time someone loots the mount it will take 2 hours before the orbs will spawn again if you stayed on the same server.
