Decent way to gain about 15 points in enchanting (learned at 250, yellow until 260, can easily get another 5 points in green) - sell easily for 2g50s, the lesser eternal will only cost you 2g, and the rugged leather you can usually find for 5-15s per, or get it from a friend or alt or party member for free. Fastest enchanting points you'll gain while still making money.

It might have BEEN possible to gain cheap skills for enchanting, lets just say it aint true on y server anymore. 1 of these leahters will cost 20g+ to make due to extremly expensive essences...

Enchanters are able to make enchanted leather once they hit 250 enchanting I believe.

You train the recipe from the master enchanter in Uldaman.

im a leatherworker. my best friends an enchanter.
i supply the leather, he supplies the essence, i walk away with some free enchanted leather for crafting, he walks away with some enchanted leather for AH. even though he is still getting some free rugged leather, i still tip him him for his time and services, even though i gave him free leather armor to disenchant. you know why? becuase enchanting is a very costly, time-consuming process. even if he got a green while grinding, he cant sell it, he has to disenchant it to get the mats he needs. depending on the level of the item, it may be 3s or 2g56s on something he isnt even sure he could use to skill up. as a leatherworker, id sell the thing and make some easy cash.sure he could sell the result of the failed disenchant, but he then must hope that there is someone who needs it and will buy. sometimes there is, sometimes there isnt. enchanting is a hit-and-miss profession, some strike it big, others flounder and wallow away all thier hard-earned gold. i made an enchanter just to see how hard one is, and ended wasting 30g, with my skill ending up at a grand total of 128 before i deleted the character out of sheer frustration. it takes time preserverance and dedication to become compitant at enchanting, like it does at any profession, so cut the enchanters some slack. is 3g really that much for you to shell out when the person whos enchanting that leather has most likly spent more golf on thier single profession than youve ever seen?

1) Go to your server's AH and look up "Greater Eternal Essence." Figure out the median that these are going for (you may have to visit a few times). They go for around 5-7g on Staghelm.

2) Take that average. 6g for sake of argument. Divide by three. You get three Lesser Eternal Essences out of one Greater Eternal Essence.

3) Figure out the cost of a single piece of rugged leather. About 10-12s on Staghelm.

4) Add 2 and 3 together. Come up with somewhere in the vicinity of 2-3g PER enchanted leather.

5) Apologize to the enchanter you just called greedy when he wanted to charge you 2.5g per leather because you were too ignorant to do a little research yourself.

Here is a concept that all you enchanter haters should learn right now: I am just as willing to sell MY mats on the AH as I am to make that same profit by selling them to you. In fact, I would RATHER sell them on the AH so I don't have to negotiate, come to you, etc., "click the button."

So if you want 10 enchanted leathers, and I can sell the stack of rugged for 1.5g and I can sell then 10 lesser eternals for 20g, then no I am not being greedy when I ask you for 2.25g each for enchanted leather. In fact, I should be asking 2.5g (what I do ask) because believe it or not, it took some money and time to be able to "click that button." It's called fair market value. You can read about it on the web.

You guys are right enchanting is an expensive and difficult profession to learn, but I have some ideas(that I'm sure you guys know but here they are)

1) Learn Enchanting

2) Disenchant 60 -75 green items..you can buy these off the ah...you'll need the mats anyways...I always spend under 10s each. This takes you to lvl 40.

3) Buy 100 Greater Magic Essence for no more than 1.5g a stack of 10. Create Lesser Magic Wands until 75, and Greater Magic Wands until 130-140. And the best thing about this all is that you can vendor all these wands for the same price as what you bought your Greater Magic Essence...THAT MEANS ITS FREE TO 140.

4) Now that feels good. But it is still not very hard to get to 225. Take Enchant Bracer:Lesser Stamina to 150. Should cost you about 20-40 Soul Dust = about 3-4g max.

5) Now you are halfway there and have wasted very little gold. Take Enchant Bracer:spirit to 180... It does not show here, but only costs 1 lesser mystic) You wont need much maybe at max a stack of 10 Greater Mystic = 5g.

6) Vision dust is the easiest thing in the world to get...If you dont know how to get it then then you probably can not read this guide that I am making anyway...For this reason take Enchant Bracer-Strength up to 200

7) Lesser Wizard Oil is great to enhance damage for all you spell casters...And you get free skill-ups making it. (it really helps if you are a tailor along with enchanter or know a tailor so you can gain these materials cheaper). (hint: disenchant things from 31-40 they turn Vision Dust) Use this to skill up to 165-170 and store all of these in mail to an alt. No waste all will be used so I consider this FREE! This will take you to 215.

8) At 215 the logical enchantment will be Enchant Cloak: Greater Defense]...however you will hit a roadblock at 225, because you will need to visit Ulda. HINT: bring all the mats needed to lvl you to 255. That way you only have to go once to get the rest of these enchants. Now you can continue this up until about 230-235.

This guide has taken you to about 230-235 for 25G MAX and have recieved plenty of Lesser Wizard Oil that will last you til your 60 (or close to). It does get more expensive at this point but you only need 10-15 more points to make your Enchanted Leather/Enchanted Thorium. and 30-35 off of enchanting Fiery

What has not been mentioned is that you will need to have rods for enchanting. For doing the high lvl enchants 290+ (?) you will need a runed arcanite rod, which needs 3 arcanite bars, created by a blacksmith . I dont need to tell you guys what a arcanite bar costs... in addition to this you will need a golden pearl and some other expensive mats.

I ended up paying 180 g just for creating the runed arcanite rod, and now some noob wants to tell me that enchanting is not an expensive profession ?
Just immagine how many enchants you need to sell with a 5 g tip to get your money back you invested just for the rod.

So please dont tell me blacksmithing is the most expensive profession.

Bassackward, maybe you shouldn't post things you dont have a clue about, otherwise everyone sees that you are the biggest NOOB the communitey has ever seen... and please stopp ^&*!@in... so much for the limited knowlegde.

I just wanted to know, and in this WHOLE stupid enchanter profession rant-fest that is a discussion thread about Enchanted Leather and not the Enchanting profession in general there is not a single mention of whether or not this is on a cooldown?

Ok I guess I got seriously fed up with the huge prices in AH for anything, hence I now have 9 char on 1 server. This means all of them are broke as my enchanter sucks them dry. Every green goes to him along with most blues. I have every skill around the 300 except enchanting, I refuse to pay on ah for any item. Lvling all my others gave me huge volumes of made gear that does not sell well, all was sent to be disenchanted.
I will do free enchants to my guild if they supply the mats or others only if it gives me skill. I never sell otherwise.
By the way I am enchanting weaponsmith so all my mats come in the post from my alts.

This is exactly why I dropped enchanting. I am currently a lvl 46 lock with tailoring/skinning. I was the classic tailoring/enchanting until i hit the wall at 130 for enchanting and got tired of making items that did not level me and not being able to sell any worthwile enchants. Follow the advice of one of the other post, wait until high levlels to do enchanting, thats the only time its worth it anyways. With tailoring, the robes of arcana has made it worth it since i sell them on bleeding hollow for about 4-5g each and the skinning is supplying my leatherworker for levels to come and i sell overage on the ah for fair prices. Enchanting can be proffitable but is a better skill for large guilds where your other members can return the favor of enchants with items or mats.

Since most people who want this are Leather Workers anyways, be smart about this. If you make Wicked Leather Bracers, you can then disenchant them for the essence, right? Not only that but you get about 2-3 dream dust at a time, which pays for the materials in itself. If I never need an enchant, I just make an item that will disenchant into the required items, and sell the rest.

Even though there's no cooldown on Enchanted Leather, it doesn't seem to sell fast in specific servers, for some simple reasons like lack of demand and low population. But there's an even more simple explanation. Economy.

Lots of the proffessions are turned down from buying Enchanted Leather for 2 main reasons. 1) Because it has such a high auction price. This price rolls back to the enchanter whom has to provide the 2 Lesser Eternal Essences by d/eing the 50+ uncommon equip-able items. Essences of all levels have a lower drop rate (dr) than Dust, making the price in auction rise because of the demand, yadda yadda. One Rugged Leather rolls out to about 10-30s itself. Not bad for one. Because Rugged Leather is skinned right off level 45-60 beastial enemies. It's that 3g to 5g for one Lesser Eternal Essence that makes this so pricey an auction item. And believe it or not, this price is reasonable for Eternal Essence because uncommon 50+ eq items are about 3g to 5g each.

Reason 2 of why E L is hard to sell is because of) The push other "seasoned" players put on Tailor/Leatherworker/Blacksmithing/Engineering proffessional players to use other more economical means of quick-raising their skill level past the need for Enchanted Leather. This lowers the need for E L and sucks even the idea of making it out of the Auction House all together.

My advice is if you do want to make Enchanted Leather (like on Chromaggus) to make profit (so not happening, but still) you have to sell these things at 6-10g for one, depending on what the market day for Lesser Eternal Essence is, and during period of the demand (which means someone goes, "/2 wtb " (hint hint they know it's not in the AH, but they want it). That is good. Provide.

Now, a real concept to drop the value of Lesser Eternal Essence would be to go grind 50+ enemies to d/e their uncommon drops. But the high market value of Lesser Eternal Essence seems to draw people back into the overall expensive price of Enchanted Leather.

In the end you have to live with the economical formula: Cost To Make price + Service Fee, otherwise Enchanters are actually paying their buyers to take the Enchanted Leather from them. The ecomony actually forces Enchanted Leather out of stock otherwise. Pay the price for the Enchanted Leather if you need it, cause it's not going to get cheaper than the price of the 2 Lesser Eternal Essences it needs to make it. Makes common sense in the end, though while looking at it's price, you wouldn't think so.

Hope the discussionable topic is helpful to opening some of your eyes.

Simple formula incase you're not interested in reading above:

Price of 1 Rugged Leather= 10s-40s
Price of 2 Lesser Eternal Essence= 3g-5g each (6g-10g total)

Price of 1 Enchanted Leather in total= 6g 10s-10g 40s (rock bottom or cost to make)

For profitable marketing total= add your preferable charge to the end price.

*fluctuation/deflation occurs in every realm economy. Prices are based on Chromaggus economy as of 7/9/07. Same formula applies in all realms. Keep in mind that players may not take your offer because they believe they can buy it lower. There is no lower profitable price than the equation above. Also keep in mind that all replies must be made in relation to the accuracy of this subject and not in the degrading of it's writer.*

If your smart, you'll level your enchanting and make money on the way.

I am an enchanter and skinner. My skinning alone paid for my 40lvl mount. Skin is easily obtainable and 100% sell rate on AH.

As for my enchanting, every green that drops, and every blue that I out level is disenchanted to make mats.

Enchanting levels slow but will be very profitably once you hit 250 and above.

Stay with enchanting... it will eventually pay you back.

I didnt bother to read the whole thread, I got halfway down, and understood that it was more about enchanting then the leather.

I got 250 enchanting as lvl35, I got +100g, this is my main. How? I buy cheap stuff at AH, then disenchant, then sell it for more then I pay originally.

Dont yell it on the mountains that enchanting costs alot before skill 250 atleast. :)

I've heared from 375 enchanters though, that after 250...the going gets though. But at 250 I can enchant +7dmg on 2H, and some other nice weapon enchants, so its doable. Just dont buy the mats @ ah, when you can buy cheap greens, and make the mats yourself.

Just my humble opinion...
(what ever you dont need, you sell @ ah, AH doesnt even take deposit for the disenchanted stuff, does take 5% cut as usual though)

on my server i'll just buy lvl 50-60 greens for about 2-4g (wicked leather headband d/e to greater eternal essence about all the time, if your lucky you get 2...that means 30g :P and if your really, really lucky you can get a large brilliant shard :O) the lvl 60-70 is basically junky for d/e imo but some get mor lucky then others i guess.

I've played them ALL and Enchanting is (not by far but close) the most time consuming and expensive. Period(.) And the most expensive, obviously, is the latter levels (330-375). It took me about a year of solid playing and an estimated (dis-enchanting included) 5000g.

Although this has nothing to do with Enchanted leather, here is some advice to make money to get enchanting up.
Enchanting is hard to get up but to make easy money, get small radiant shards from Scarlet Monastery Armory (Herod). For a rogue this is very easy because you just need to stealth to him. If you cannot stealth, just ask a rogue friend to sap along the way to Herod. You can do this 5 times and get 5 shards 100%. Depending on your server. mine is Ursin which sells 6-8g each : 7x5 = 35g in less than an hour. very nice. And i usually buy all the mats from AH since i'm lazy or buy something to DE for the mat i need.

OMFG I have to side with the enchanter haters.... every class depends on another... Blizzard knows how to balance... all I have to say is ... if ur not skill upin' from an enchant, it should be for free, it no more exspensive to lvl up in if u have a higher lvl alt <which Im sure most of u do> give me a f' break. I would NEVER tip for someones else's <that should be tip enough at that lvl> skill-up+tip thats just plain greed... and then when it comes to needing another classes mats who's !@#$%ing? seriously enchanters are no more expensive than any other. Same goes for lock-pickers!

Wow, Whatever, I hope you don't play on my server. I'm grateful for every rogue that goes through the hassle of leveling lockpicking so that I can have my lockboxes picked. I tip for it. If I craft something (I'm a lw), a tip is always appreciated to cover the cost of either buying the recipe from the trainer or buying a rare recipe from the AH. To be honest, if it's a rare/hard to find recipe/enchant, you should tip for the crafting/enchant. You certainly do not have to but it is appreciated.

The following quests can be picked up from Craftsman Wilhelm at the Light's Hope Chapel in the Eastern Plaguelands by completing Omarion's Handbook which you get from Master Craftsman Omarion.
He's trapped in a cage in the first room of trash in the Deathknight Wing inside Naxxramas.
With a skill of 300 and high enough reputation, you will be able to choose from a total of 13 different patterns depending on your professions: Tailoring (4), Leatherworking (6) or Blacksmithing (3).

Patterns / Plans doesn't exists, all of them are taught by Master Craftsman Omarion in Naxxramas
